Shady Rest, Scotch Plains, NJ was the first Black owned golf course in the world. It’s surrounding community, JERSEYLAND, consisted of gardens, numerous fruit trees, baseball, cookouts, horseback riding, golfing of course, blackberry picking and history: this is where I grew up.

From The Five Chinese Brothers to Aesop Fables to The Canterbury Tales to Guns, Germs and Steel, I read everything! And my love for reading evolved into a passion for writing which produced my first novel – Born From Weeds & Rats, A fictional tale of love, friendship, community, religion, finding oneself, family and much much more.

I now reside in CT, still reading, still writing and most of all, still staying in touch with family and friends from my upbringing…
