“At dawn the sun came across the land and into the window, slanting across the room with equatorial brightness, as close to the land as the earth would allow it.”
Robert Mads Anderson, Seven Summits Solo

“It's like sneaking into heaven through the back door."

On entering Norway after flying across the Arctic Ocean in an aging Russian Biplane”
Robert Mads Anderson, Antonovs over the Arctic : Flying to the North Pole in Russian Biplanes

“What the continents had in common was far less important than what was different. To be successful on the peaks it was more important to learn intuitively and adapt to the new cultures and climbing conditions, than to ascend relying on past experience.”
Robert Mads Anderson, To Everest Via Antarctica: Climbing Solo on the Highest Peak on Each of the World's Seven Continents
