Day 4,333: Bubs

So…Coops is definitely in some distress eye-wise. I’m glad we (Liz) took him to the eye doc today because they were very concerned about this infection that apparently developed over the weekend. ‘Very aggressive’ was the term they used for how they were going to treat it. Ie – it’s bad, and it needs to be dealt with quickly so it doesn’t spread.

My boy is on seven medications right now. SEVEN. Just for his eye. That’s not even counting anything else. And several of those meds have to be take...

Day 4,332: Settle

Coops is having a hard time getting his head lean just right. I’m watching him down in his bed shifting and shifting, trying to get it perfect, but the challenge is that he’s wearing his cone tonight, and that’s messing up the angle. Poor bubs. The gaba will kick in shortly and he’ll pass out.

He’s got something going on with his eye. Very inflamed. Very squinty. The squint went away for a couple days, but it’s back now, which means he’s goes back to see the doc again tomorrow rather than wai...

Day 4,331: ELEVEN

Happy Eleventh Anniversary to my smoke show of a wife, Elizabeth Ho. You are my everything.

We had delicious food this evening, amazing pups, house work and F1 talk and great wine and evening walks. It was a perfect day.

Night night.

Day 4,330: Pizza Crawl

Did some research tonight with Liz for my backyard movie night party. PIZZA! Very important research. We went to a couple candidates for the big order. They were both good! Both pretty equally matched when it came to flavor and quality, just different styles. And I think we have our winner, which is exciting. It’s pizza parlor-style, the kind we grew up on out here on the west coast, with arcade games in the back, sodas on tap, and those red candle-holders on the tables. The type of place you we...

Day 4,329: This Old Thang

This iPad is getting up there. I think it’s from…2017? The very first iPad Pro. Wait! No. Not the first. I had one of those, too. This was…the second? It was the first iPad without a home button. Pretty sure that was 2017, which is wild. I’ve written five novels on this bad boy. The latest one with a new keyboard on it. First keyboard lasted for four novels. And many additional years. I love this iPad. I don’t ever want it to quit on me. I can’t really say it’s shown its age at all, really. Play...

Day 4,328: Abbot

Workin hard out there! Literally. Getting up early and getting outside to continue getting our front and back yards in presentable shape. They’re close! We’re hiring a company next to haul all the stuff away. She expeeeeennnnsssiiivvvee…but it needs to be done. Has to be. And will be. I can’t WAIT. It’s gonna be grand to have the front yard finally taken care of. No more weeds! Bane of my existence.

Also: it’s Pandaversary tonight. Love you Bear!

Day 4,327: Thunder

What does my ideal home look like?

“Home.” That’s the word. As I sit here with Joy snuggled up into my shoulder, Liz outside in the living room watching the Love is Blind UK reunion, Coops down by my feet…this is my ideal home. Honestly.

When I first saw the question, I thought: “house.” Made me think of how much I’d love to live in something ‘architectural.’ A house that was designed very carefully and thoughtfully to be a piece of art, or to represent an idea rather than built as fast an...

Day 4,326: Step

It was a very productive day today. I did several things I’d been putting off and/or I knew was going to take it out of me energy-wise.

We had some credit cards we no longer were using that I needed to call and finally cancel before their annual fees ticked over again. I’ve been meaning to do that for quite some time. Quite. Some. Time. I’ll go ahead and say it: Southwest cards. We’re not flying Southwest anymore. I got burned last time I used them, and then Liz got burned even worse just a c...

Day 4,325: She Turned

It’s. Really. Hot.

Hundred today. I think. Maybe 99. But ya. Tooooo hot. That sweltering season of summer has arrived finally. Right on time, really, but it was just so damn mild before. We usually have a solid couple months of high 80s/low 90s, but not this year. We went straight from 70s to 100.

Went to the driving range with Wolfie today. He was so-so on it, I think. Played video games together for a bit after, then a little hacky sack when we got home. He ate all his In-n-out. Proud of...

Day 4,324: Daichan

Took it easy today. Hard to do, given it’s a weekend, meaning no work during the day, and I have so much stuff to do, but…I needed it. Took a giant nap. Slept in a bit. Watched the Wrexham game. Watched quali. And then we went out to dinner with our friends Gary and Derrick at Daichan, which I haven’t been to in so long. It was so delicious. SO freaking delicious. One our old school favorite restaurants. We’ve been going there ever since moving into the valley.

Back at it tomorrow. Blech. Nig...
