My newest book, The Forgotten Sky, is on promotion on Amazon and is free today and for the next couple of days.

I've finally published the sprawling space opera with epic fantasy aspects I've been working on for the past 2-3 years (along with several other books, but this one is my favorite).

It's a complex story and involves many different characters and their unique interactions across planets.

A kind of Game of Thrones meets Dune story.

It's been a long road, passing manuscripts through beta readers and editors, as if I'm trying to get a secret treasure through security. As a writer, I don't want to show my work - that takes a piece of my soul to with it - to anyone until its about my tenth edit and I'm feeling almost completely done. Only then, when I could visualize someone reading the story and liking it, can I pass it on.


But I start with those closest to me and branch out. Once the novel is edited by my closest confidants, then I begin to feel more secure and hold it a little higher as you move onto the next guardian, wielding their own pen as a sword of sorts. At least along the way, the treasure starts to become polished and shine, and I know each person in their own way fashions another facet onto what I deeply hope will become a jewel of some sort.


That is how I feel about the beta readers and editors I've used. Now with the publication of the first book, my list of guardians is growing and making each following work stronger and stronger. I salute you all for your help, from the highest editor to the lowest review - you've all assisted in some regard in fashioning each following story. Like the encounters of Horemheb and Gavin in the tale, they must be faced and overcome...

The second book will be in final draft and should published in 2018, although probably later in the year.

Writing the trailer outline for this short production was something I'd never undertaken before. I imagine it was like creating a very small screen play, or a movie trailer, and so I researched those I loved. Soon I could hear the voices and imagine the scenes I hoped would best catch the attention of potential readers. Film 14's expertise made the rest. Whether I succeeded is up to you, but it sure was fun to do.


I hope you like it, and after viewing the video that it makes you want to experience the story.

It is no secret I've been enchanted with ancient Egypt since I was a child. But I still get shivers when I picture myself returning and entering the tombs of the deceased, and reading the writing that spoke to others long before either you or I walked the earth. To feel that same stone, breath the same arid air, and read the same stories in images upon the walls.


I'll be taking a boat ride along the Nile, traveling with renowned archaeologists and revisiting many of the ancient sites from my books - the famous and the obscure. There's no better way to tell the story than to experience and feel it internally and externally - to trod the same ground and sail the same river.
