On Being a Father

Raising children is an amazing opportunity to be a positive role model and to inspire the next generation for their role as stewards of our civilization.

My dad was a father-of-4 by the time he was 24. I was a 1st-time dad at 28.

My son Bobby is now a young adult, actively interested in making his mark upon the world.

I feel blessed that he and I are able to actively engage each other in being the best we can be in our respective circles of influence, and we both relish the potential of being teammates on this wondrous journey ahead.

Fatherhood Feedback

Thoughtful note shared with me yesterday:

"The people at work are talking about the book. And I will share with you what I shared with them. Through everything, Bobby has turned out to be an amazing human being. I think your relationship with him was so special because of the distance and knowing Bobby as I do now as an adult, I think if he had grown up here with things as they were, you two wouldn’t have had the special relationship you did.

I always remember that note you gave me about how our problems were in the past and we had to do what was best for Bobby and I think we did. And if Bobby is any indication of how a child from a divorce can be, I believe we have set a shining example."
