Publishing Update
Hello everyone. I know it’s been a while since I posted on here, but I’ve just taken back the rights to all my books from my publisher, so depending on the platform you purchased it through, your files might be gone. I am very sorry about this and would not have gone ahead with this course of action if I’d had any other choice.
I am going to work as quickly as possible to get the books re-released but it might take a few months, given that I want to take advantage of this opportunity to get them reedited. It will take me some time to find new cover art and go through the entire process of republishing them. It’s also going to be rather expensive! I’m sure it will be worth it in the end, so just try to bear with me.
Thank you for staying with me through all this. I’m not in a great place right now but I’m sure it can only get better from here.

Anthology and Book 6
Hello everyone! Time for my yearly update!
Cursed, the f/f fantasy novel not set on Inthya, finished up on Patreon last month. If you subscribe now, you can read the whole thing in one go!
The next book to be released by my publisher will be Gods of Inthya, an anthology centered around Inthya’s pantheon. It’s completely written and edited, and I should have cover art and an official release date from my publisher very soon.
Book 6 in the Tales of Inthya series, The Princess of Domeysil, will be released in serial format on Patreon. A new chapter will be released on the first of each month. If you can’t afford to support, that’s okay! It will be published normally like all the others after it’s complete.
Thank you all for your continued support and patience.

Book 5 Release, New Patreon-Exclusive Novel, Etc
Okay, a few quick updates in no particular order!
Tales of Inthya #5, Daughter of the Moon, was released last winter. So if you haven’t checked that out yet, maybe take a look? I’m told it’s pretty good!
I’ve decided to step away from ko-fi and go patreon exclusive. I’ve got nothing against ko-fi, it’s a great site, it was just getting annoying to update every month on two different sites. The reason I went with patreon was that most readers seemed to be most comfortable/familiar with it and ko-fi required a monthly fee to use the subscription service. Also ko-fi wasn’t really designed for posting long blocks of text, it seems more for artists. So that’s what’s happening there! If you haven’t checked out my patreon yet, you can find it at patreon.com/effie
Which leads me to my next announcement: I’m releasing a book in serial format on patreon! Cursed is an f/f fantasy novel about two princesses who are accidentally betrothed to one another due to a translation error. On its face, it has some similarities to TQOI, but once the plot picks up I think you’ll see how different it is. The first chapter is free to read so you can decide ahead of time if you want to subscribe or not. At this time, I don’t know if I’m going to eventually publish it outside of patreon or what. This is my first time posting a serial novel so I’m still figuring everything out and deciding what to do.
The last bit of news is I have the files for the Empress of Xytae audiobook, so once I approve that it should be out soon!
As always, thank you to everyone for being so supportive!

Patreon Update and Spanish Translation
Hi guys! Two updates! So I mentioned previously that I’ve started releasing exclusive short stories on Ko-fi. That’s still going on, with a new short story on the 1st of every month. I’ve also started offering the same on Patreon, since people have indicated to me that they’re more familiar/comfortable with it. My patreon link is patreon.com/effie
At this time, there’s three tiers of membership on Patreon. Bronze tier is $3, exactly like ko-fi, and gets you the same stuff, which is primarily the Gods of Inthya short stories. Since people actually are purchasing the higher tiers, I’ve also added new rewards for those. Right now, Silver subscribers get exclusive Behind the Scenes blog posts which I hope to release once a week or so, and Gold subscribers are going to be sent digital copies of my next book on the Friday before it is released.
I do want to add more things to the reward tiers as we go on, so keep an eye on that if you’d like to support me!

2020 Update and Ko-fi Stories
I’m terrible at blogging, aren’t I? But I just wanted to update everyone on how things are going right now. Book 4, The Empress of Xytae, came out on December 31st, and we’re shooting for a fall 2020 release date for book 5, Daughter of the Moon. I’m hoping it won’t get pushed back due to the situation with the virus, but it is within the realm of possibility, so please be patient with me.
In the meantime, I’ve also started a ko-fi page. I’m kind of using it like Patreon. Monthly subscribers will get a short story on the 1st of each month. Each short story will revolve around one of Inthya’s gods, cuz I get a lot of questions about them! Right now I’m working my way through the Ten, but after that I’m gonna branch out to some Elevenths and then who knows! If you can’t afford to subscribe but really want to see the stories, I do hope to compile them and publish them as a book. That might not be for a long while, but I just want to mention it for anyone who is afraid they might miss out. If you’re interested in supporting me, you can find my page at https://ko-fi.com/effiecalvin.
Thank you everyone for your continued support!

TQOI New Edition and OutWrite 2019
I’m happy to announce that I will be attending OutWrite 2019 on August 3, 2019 as a vendor, where I’ll have a table full of books and some cute pride bookmarks. If you’d like more information about OutWrite, you can check out their website right here. There’s no entrance fee or anything. I hope if you’re in the DC area, you can come visit me!
Some of you guys noticed that the paperback for TQOI was a different size from the rest of the series. This is because my publisher switched to a smaller trim size about a week after TQOI was published. We now finally have an edition of TQOI that matches the rest of the series. It has a new ISBN, but other than that it’s identical to the first edition. The best way to tell what version you’re buying is to check the ISBN. The new edition’s ISBN is 9781951057220, and it is listed here on Amazon. The old edition’s ISBN is 9781948608138 and is listed here on Amazon. Like I said, the content is 100% identical to the previous edition, and the only difference is how it will look on your bookshelves.
For those fans who have been asking for autographed books, I now have those for sale as well on Etsy. I’ll also be selling any of my leftover bookmarks on there after OutWrite (seriously they’re so pretty). I’m sorry that I don’t offer international shipping yet–I’ve yet to figure out a way to offer it that doesn’t reveal my home address to the world.
Book 4, The Empress of Xytae, is still scheduled for a December 2019 release date. I will reveal the exact day as we get closer. You can add it on Goodreads here, or sign up for my mailing list to get an email the day it’s released right here.

New Release Notes
So I’m gonna get a little bit personal here for a moment, hope you don’t mind, and talk about what happens in my brain as we approach a new release. I’ve done this three times now and I feel like it’s safe to say that this is a pattern.
It turns out that releasing a new book gives me MASSIVE amounts of anxiety. Yeah, who’d have guessed that throwing something deeply personal out into the world might be a stress-inducing thing? My default anxiety level is usually around a 6, and the book release cranks it up to a 9 or 10. It’s been at points where I consider checking myself into the hospital. I’m not saying this for pity or anything! I don’t want you guys to feel sorry for me or feel like you can’t leave honest reviews. I’m mostly writing this for other people with anxiety, whether you’re an author or a reader, and for any fans who might wonder why I’ve suddenly gone quiet.
I think the worst part is, I want to be around during a new release, on social media and everything, to promote and interact and all that fun stuff. But social media only ramps up the anxiety, for reasons I’m sure everyone understands. So unfortunately, the time where I should be most available is the time where I find I have to take a few steps back, for the sake of my own health.
I do hope that as I continue to release books, eventually my brain will figure out there’s no reason to be on red alert because my readers are awesome.

Book 3 Preorder Links
Hey guys! I’m thrilled to let you all know that book 3 is now ready for preorder! As always, I’ve got the Master Purchase List on my website.

So check back in the next few days if you’re one of the people who buys print editions of my books!

Another New Short Story!
This is just a quick update mostly for the people who are following my blog on Goodreads or Amazon. I’ve posted a new free short story on my website. It’s called The Gift and it’s about Adale and Esofi, set between books 1 and 3. Despite the title, it’s more birthday-themed than holiday-themed, haha! You can find it right here. There’s also a link to it under the Bonus Content area of my website.
That’s all for now!
