Jill Marie is a native of southern California who, after a whirlwind life as a military wife, now makes her home with her husband in North Carolina, where she serves at the beck and call of two cats, one dog, and five adorable grandchildren. Obsessions include all things animal rescue, fairy-tale romances, collecting model horses, and perfecting the perfect pastry crust.

During her former career as a romance novelist, Jill Marie won both the Carol Award and RWA's Inspirational Readers' Choice Award. Now she prefers her novels to include a dash of magic along with the heart-melting romance.

Cover Reveal!

So guess what I got in my inbox yesterday? That's right . . . the finalized cover design for The Lady and the Wish! (I may have squealed. My cats aren't telling, but . . . yeah. I may have squealed.)This was perfect timing since I also JUST finished drafting this novel. I'm due to turn it in to my editor tomorrow morning, so I'm doing some last-minute reading and tweaking. But otherwise . . . whew Read more of this blog post »

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story for the second time. It is set in a time of dragons and knights, and the romance seemed much sweeter to me than the original. It never dragged, and the characters were well drawn.
Awesome--especially for a freeb

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it! I'm currently working on a sequel to WCOATCB (maybe it will have a shorter title? But probably not lol). I hope to share more about it soon!

I would call this book a sweet romance with a few delightful God-moments sprinkled along the way to literally bring light into dark places. I absolutely loved it!

“I tried to ignore the way my stomach and heart hurt, the feelings of rejection and insecurity.”
J.M. Stengl, The Little Siren

“Sometimes I think girls are pretty, but I can't talk to them like I talk to you. And they bore me. A guy can't spend all his time looking at a girl. If it's going to last, they've got to be friends.”

“I'll never tell you to stop loving. You see, I believe in hopeless love. Oh yes. I believe in it with all my heart, though you may discount the heart of an old nanny like me. For real love brings pain. Real love means sacrifices and hurts and all the thousand shocks of life. But it also means beauty, true beauty.”
Anne Elisabeth Stengl, Moonblood

“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It is all part of the fairy tale.”
Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

“There is a moment that comes into every life when the right word, the right look even, could change the shape of the world forever. The wrong one could as well, though the resulting shape would be different. No word at all, however, and the moment slips by, and things remain unsaid that perhaps should have been said, perhaps shouldn't, and no one can ever know for sure.”
Anne Elisabeth Stengl, Moonblood

“Were the world a just place and given into Poet Eanrin's hands to dictate, he would have written things as they ought to be. Lionheart would not have bowed like some wooden puppet and left without another word. He would have acted like a man, taken the silver-eyed queen into his arms, and kissed her! He would have told her all the things in his heart that he did not fully understand yet, because, honestly, who ever understands those things anyway?

But some stories refuse to play themselves out the way poets think they ought.”
Anne Elisabeth Stengl

“A gentleman can hardly continue to sit,' he explained, in his serenest and most level voice, 'when he asks a very remarkable young lady to do him the honor of marrying him. And - 'he somehow contrived to grin at me wickedly, 'I usually get what I want, Miss Grahame,' he added, and pitched over in a tangled heap on the floor.”
Elizabeth Marie Pope, The Sherwood Ring
