Reflections of Lilje Damselfly – A Forrest Review

A beautiful tale, Reflections of Lilje Damselfly by Natalie Kelda tells the story of a water nymph who learns what it means to be human set in a cozy Edwardian era.

The cover of Reflections of Lilje Damselfly by Natalie Kelda. Image of a water nymph, her dress made of water itself, circled by lily pads and fish. Art Nouveau style. She has black hair, with flowers in it.

When a mysterious ailment refuses to leave water nymph Lilje, her father sends her to a human spa retreat. Lilje quickly discovers she has a lot to learn about human nature and culture when she accidentally scandalises the Edwardian spa guests by showing up undressed.

In hope of relieving her chronic pain and fatigue, s...

Legacy of Brick & Bone – A Forrest Review

Damn. Matar did it again. Brick and Bone hits you as hard as the Lledwydydd Lightning hits his opponents. Political intrigue, civil unrest, and the fight for human rights continues as Ishmael and Tashue battle their way out of the mess they got themselves into (or rather, the mess they were forced into) at the end of Brightwash, but things just get even worse.

Legacy of Brick & Bone, Tainted Dominion 2, by Krystle Matar. Book cover that shows a bloody boxing glove, a Vote Winter pamphlet, and bullet casings

LEGACY OF BRICK & BONE, Tainted Dominion #2
Follow the law and you’ll stay safe. But what if the law betrays you?

It all st...

Going Wide

Hey everyone! I’ve finally made the decision to go wide with my ebooks.

This means I will no longer be participating in Kindle Unlimited. KU was very stop and go since I started publishing, and it just doesn’t make sense to continue with the program. It also means you’ll be able to purchase all four of my books (and any future books) on platforms like Kobo, Campfire Writing, Barnes and Nobles, itchio and more by March 12th, 2025.

My ebooks will also be available in many of the offered li...

Legacy of the Brightwash – A Forrest Review

Legacy of the Brightwash by Krystle Matar is book one in the Tainted Dominion series. This has been on my radar for a long time; I’ve heard nothing but praise for it, and I finally got the chance to read it! I devoured this dark/gaslamp fantasy, a novel of almost 700 pages.

Legacy of the Brightwash by Krystal Matar. Tainted Dominion 1. Drawing of a shaved head with a strange numerical tattoo on the back of their neck, with a piece of charcoal off to the side.

Summary:
Follow the law and you’ll stay safe. But what if the law is wrong?

Tashué’s faith in the law is beginning to crack.

Three years ago, he stood by when the Authority condemned Jason to the brutality of the ...

2024 in Review

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for being here. I’m back from hiatus and ready to get those creative juices flowing again. I hope you all had a wonderful year and a satisfying holiday season!

2024 was a long year for me. As you may already know from previous posts, I was dealing with constant fatigue at the end of 2023 and into 2024 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had a great doctor, though, and have been on a working dosage of medication without issue. My fatigue has improved significa...

A Witch in Isenshire is a bold cup of coffee made with determination, personal growth, and adventure.

Magnolia Hanna never thought she’d forgive Basil Olivander, the witch who inadvertently upended so many lives in Lightview. Yet four months after their battle,...
