I'm a compulsive reader, not-so-regular writer, introverted dreamer, onanist, fetishist, occasional weirdo and a movie enthusiast with a hankering for great ideas and demolition of creative boundaries - which, incidentally, also applies to what I read and write. I've a preference for the shocking and what most people would call disturbing. Think of the axe-murder in A Serbian Film and the accident-fetish in J G Ballard's Crash and you get the drift.

However, I can appreciate the brighter side of life too - like your neighbourhood serial killer with the face of a choir boy. I've read Nobel laureates like Mario Vargas Llosa with the same passion that I have for a splatterpunk master like Wrath James White. I straddle two worlds, it seems.

My novel - The Erotic Muse

The Erotic Muse is the story of K, a young porn-addicted college-dropout who shies away from relationships and harbors dreams of becoming a writer. Full of anguish, he is given to self-abuse. One evening, while masturbating to his favorite erotic muse, Fanny Leone, sprawled on the cover of an underground porn magazine, K finds himself magically transported to a parallel world where all sexual desi Read more of this blog post »

“You are red-faced at my speaking the truth. Another weird aspect of the human psyche. A perfectly normal human activity has to be kept under wraps. People don’t wonder at a couple kissing and holding hands in public, even approve of cuddling and love-making on screen, but they get their hackles up the moment they find that a guy has been at it, the taboo, the easiest, most concise form of pleasure a man can enjoy; even women, although they do it differently, and the pay-off isn’t always that great.' Her perfect teeth glittered.”
Rajeev Singh, The Erotic Muse

“How would it look in the newspaper - Lonely sex-crazed youngster pays a heavy price for touching himself too hard in Fanny Leone’s name. What would his body look like: sprawled over Fanny's nude picture, still clasping his organ as if it meant more to him than anything else in the world? How many people died with their pants down, their freakiness becoming the stuff of lewd gossip, the butt of every joke at every corner of the country? They died a thousand deaths all the way to hell and even afterwards and he didn't want to be one of them.”
Rajeev Singh, The Erotic Muse

“You say that my way of thinking cannot be tolerated? What of it? The man who alters his way of thinking to suit othere is a fool. My way of thinking is the result of my reflections. It is part of my inner being, the way I am made. I do not contradict them, and would not even if I wished to. For my system, which you disapprove of is also my greatest comfort in life, the source of all my happiness -it means more to me than my life itself.”
Marquis de Sade

“Your idealism will get you killed or, worse, knighted, and you’ll spend the rest of your days among fools and MPs. As for me, the chance to refuse an audience with the queen would be exquisite.”
Stephen Hunter, I, Ripper: A Novel

“My normal friends loved having a token author. Just like every WoW raiding party needs at least one healer, every gaggle needs at least one artist. They enjoyed introducing me to people at bars. “This is Jessica. She’s a writer.”
Jessica Wildfire, Professor Gone Wild

“How delightful are the pleasures of the imagination! In those delectable moments, the whole world is ours; not a single creature resists us, we devastate the world, we repopulate it with new objects which, in turn, we immolate. The means to every crime is ours, and we employ them all, we multiply the horror a hundredfold.”
Marquis de Sade, Les Prosperites du Vice

“There will be a few times in your life when all your instincts will tell you to do something, something that defies logic, upsets your plans, and may seem crazy to others. When that happens, you do it. Listen to your instincts and ignore everything else. Ignore logic, ignore the odds, ignore the complications, and just go for it.”
Judith McNaught, Remember When
