Creative Ways To Write About What Is Remote Employee Monitoring
What are the employee monitoring policy samples that help the productivity of your employees and, at the same time, can keep your business running? Is it an effective way to motivate your employees to become effective and efficient in their jobs? An employee monitoring policy can help you get a better understanding of how your employees spend their time during working hours. It will also help you understand the downsides and how to minimize them.
A
productive and efficient workforce is one of the important aspects of a
successful company. It becomes the aim of the business owner that manages
usually more than 100 employees. Unfortunately, the continuous innovation of
technology also increases distraction within the workplace. Employees tend to
slack from their works and instead turn to other websites, such as viewing
Facebook or other social media. This is why establishing an employee monitoring
policy is all the more important as a company benefits policy for your
employees.
What is Remote Employee Monitoring?
In
establishing such a policy, employers must first know what employee monitoring is and how it works.
Through
this method, employers can extract tangible data about the number of works done
and analyze it with the time they spent in one project and its difficulty to
determine their work performance. Some employers used software options that are
necessary for their company environment and situations.
To monitor remotely simply means to supervise how your employees work without standing behind their back all the while.

Establishing Employee Monitoring Policy
Private business establishments have their own company-issued devices that their employees used within working hours. These devices include laptops, tablets, and phones. Using the monitoring software, they gather information on:
Details of internet usageProductivity levelEmails sent and received about workPhone usageWhether drivers are following the route established
However,
this method doesn’t mean that it always has the best practices. Once
mishandled, employees will be affected negatively. It can lead to fast and
higher turnover, poor morale and the issue of privacy invasion. These negative
effects can hurt your business, too.
Keeping
these in mind, companies can draft and implement policies that notify their
employees that company-issued devices may be monitored. They can institute a
written agreement where a thorough explanation of the necessity and importance
of the employee monitoring policy. In this way, employees will become aware and
acknowledge the fact that they are monitored which will then decrease the
possibility of slacking in their work during working hours.
Benefits of Employee Monitoring Policy
Enforcing
such a policy can help the company in so many ways:
Recognize small issues before they become big problems that are harder to solve. A team in the sales department, for example, is not reaching its quota by this week. Monitoring software can give you quantifiable data so you can take steps to correct them.Companies can use company-issued device monitoring to identify any misuse of confidential information before it goes too far. This can save your employees from legal issues that may arise.Respond to employee relations issues. Best Practices For Employee GPS Monitoring
With the level of GPS technology to where it is now, employers can easily find out where their employees are at all times by using the best software for employee monitoring. Over the years, there is a shift from tracking devices. In the early years they were installed in company vehicles, but employee tracking is shifting more and more to company phones. This is due in large part to the advances in mobile phone technology, with them being installed with advanced GPS trackers and the ability to be integrated with their-party applications like Highster Mobile for easier access to employee locations.
There are a
lot of benefits for a company if they track their employees’ whereabouts, and
that includes:
Boosting and increasing efficiency by streamlining travel plans and itineraries. These are crucial for companies with mobile crews that deliver goods and services. It makes it easier to monitor overtime and the company’s and employees’ compliance with state and federal labor laws.It ensures that the company and its employees abide by safety regulations and do not break the speed limit or traffic regulations. It helps verify time records and confirm that they are accurate. Employee tracking also helps determine if employees follow company policies and engage in safe behavior. Tracking can also be called in as evidence in internal inquiries if there are any accusations that an employee is doing wrong.

But before
the company can make any moves and decisions regarding employee tracking, they
should consider all legal corollaries and privacy issues within the workplace.
They should comply with all the laws and ensure that they do not breach the
trust of their employees.
Cell Phone Tracking Rules Are Not As Clear-Cut as They Should Be.
There are a few grey areas in tracking company vehicles. Should the monitoring extend until past work hours? Should the company monitor a delivery vehicle that is within its bring-home program? These are just some of them. Company cell phone location tracking is an even muddier subject. Let’s consider one case.
In 2015, a woman was terminated from work after she uninstalled a GPS tracking app out of a smartphone the company issued to her. She then sued the company for unlawful termination which was then settled out of court. But there are several implications for businesses in this case. The specifics of the case indicated that the employer wanted the company phones to be turned on at all times as they told employees they would be monitoring their activities even after hours. The employee, in order to protect her privacy, decided to uninstall the app and was then subsequently terminated from work.
In order to avoid these and other offenses related to employee tracking, you can follow these best practices for handling employee cell phone tracking.
Be
knowledgeable with all the laws applicable to monitoring such as privacy and
allowed devices in your state.
GPS tracking should only be used in company vehicles and devices. It should also be within the bounds of business needs.

methods and business reasons for monitoring on a written and approved tracking
policy.

Mobile Software for Employee Monitoring
If you’re looking for software for employee monitoring, you need to get the one that offers the best features you can actually use for whatever purpose you need it for. There is a plethora of monitoring software out in the market nowadays that claim to be the best at what they do, but what you really need to take a look at is how a particular software can help you monitor your employees in whatever way you want.
There are software that can be used to monitor
employees using computers or workstations at the office, and there are also
mobile apps for monitoring employees and their cell phone activities. For now,
let’s talk about mobile software you can use to monitor your employees’ cell
phone activities.
What is employee monitoring?
This is the practice of observing and checking employee activity and locations within a workplace setting. Generally, a company will employ monitoring methods in order to evaluate and measure productivity, usage of company resources, and also secure important and confidential information. The two major benefits it gives a business are the ability to prevent poor or troublesome workplace practices, and the ability to correct mistakes and/or reduce the potential damage to the company stemming from bad workplace behavior.

Types of employee monitoring methods
Here are the three most common forms of
employee monitoring that businesses usually use in the workplace:
Phone calls
– It’s commonplace for companies to record and monitor outgoing and incoming
calls that go through their phone systems. If a company issues phones to their
employees, you can expect that any activity on those phones will also be
monitored. How your employees interact and communicate on the phone with
clients, customers, and other people can play a huge role in the success or
failure of your business.
Email and voicemail – Not all companies monitor their employees’ email and/or voicemail, but enough of them do so. This allows management to observe, analyze, and anticipate potential risks and problems before they become a reality. Being able to keep track of emails and voicemails can also help a lot when settling critical disputes, although voicemails is now on its way to becoming obsolete.
Workforce location – Not all businesses have staff that do field work, but a significant
portion of American companies do employ personnel that spend a significant
portion of company hours traveling. Depending on the type of business, keeping
track of where those mobile employees are at any given time allows management
to evaluate staffing schedules, delivery timetables and routes, etc. and also
lets them troubleshoot problems if necessary.
Browsing history – Of course, employers will always assume that their staff will be
browsing the internet whenever they have the opportunity and inclination to do
so. Monitoring the browsing history of your employees will let you see how they
are spending their time online, which websites they are going to, and how
frequent those visits are. Some businesses will even have restrictions about
which websites their employees can or cannot visit while on company time, so
monitoring can be very helpful here as well.

How Important is an Employee Monitoring Mobile App?
What are the employee monitoring tools that can be used on mobile phones, and how beneficial are they? There are several mobile apps available on the market today that can help an employer monitor their employees’ cell phone activity, and they can be valuable and effective tools to improve productivity and avoid bad workplace practices.
Is Monitoring Employees Acceptable?
Monitoring employees has long been an accepted
practice in the workplace. It’s recognized as a commonplace and indispensable
method of ensuring that company polices are followed, tasks or project goals
are being met, and also to help employers make assessments regarding
productivity and how company resources are being used.
Normally, the monitoring of employees is generally considered legal in
the United States, and oftentimes go by unchecked. It is reasonable to assume
that a company may employ monitoring methods on their employees that are using
company-owned equipment, including computers, workstations, and any electronic
devices. Therefore, an employer may read, watch, and listen to any
communication taken and sent while inside the workplace. Sometimes, this will
extend to an employee’s personal communication as well.
While the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) provides protection against the interception of digital and electronic communications, it also carries a business exception stating that employers are allowed to “intercept communications” on systems/equipment that is provided or owned by the employer.

How Important is an Employee Monitoring Mobile
App to Employers?
In its basic form, employee monitoring is simply the collection of data pertaining to an employee’s activities within the workplace setting. This may include information that involves an employee’s performance, assigned tasks, the results or outcome of assigned tasks, communications received and sent, online activity, current location, and more.
Aside from evaluating online activity, one of
the most important benefits an employee monitoring mobile app can give
employers is to help them prevent or correct bad workplace practices. This
includes the two most significant problems a company will typically face:
Data leakage – Corporate espionage and sabotage
is still a real thing, even more so in today’s modern world. When an unauthorized
employee steals and sends any kind of confidential information from within the
company to an external recipient, that is considered as data leakage. The
financial and industrial damage that data theft can cause to a business can be
seriously huge.
Wasted man-hours – Studies show that the average
employee spends around one to four hours each day (sometimes even more) doing
nothing that can be considered as work, and that an estimated 3% of employees
waste more than eight hours in the workplace. That translates to an estimated
$50,000 worth of company time lost every year (more or less) just because one
or two of your employees love playing mobile games instead of working.
If you need to monitor your employees to ensure
that company resources are not being wasted or leaked, you need to get the best
mobile monitoring app available today. Highster Mobile can provide all the
functionality you want in a monitoring app. Make sure your company is getting
the best bang for its buck. Go to https://highstermobile.com to see how it can help you.

The Relevance of Employee Monitoring and Workplace Security
Business owners are better understanding the importance of cell phone monitoring that can provide better workplace security and increase employee productivity.
Employers also know that employees are the backbone of
their business. It’s the employees who are at the forefront of making sure
their services reached their customers with the utmost satisfaction. The more
reason why employee monitoring is very essential to make sure that employees
are doing what is expected of them to achieve the goals of the organization.
What is Employee Monitoring?
Every people are unique. Just the same with employees, they’re all distinct from one another. They have varying skills and knowledge that they use to achieve their job’s goals. For employers to gauge the efficiency of every employee, they monitor, assess, and evaluate their work. Did they finish the assigned task on time? Are they following the company policies and rules about their job? How efficient are the employees with their job? These are some of the questions and more that employers can use to monitor and measure the work-efficiency and productivity of their employees. All the information gathered will be the basis of the assessment and evaluation of employees.

What Can Businesses Gain from Monitoring Employees?
The monitoring of the many aspects of an employee’s work
is very crucial for any business’s growth. Through the assessment and
evaluation of an employees’ work performance, work results, and more, companies
can give more incentives and perks to employees who are not just meeting but
rather exceeding their task goals. These additional incentives could pave the
way for employee’s motivation that could enhance their work efficiency. On the
other hand, the result of monitoring
employees could also
help businesses from identifying underperforming employees. Evaluate employees
who only serve themselves but not the company. In this way, business owners can
formulate strategies or plans to address these issues.
Monitoring employees can have many beneficial effects on
the business. But it is also important to take notice that it also has its
downside. Employees might feel the distrust of the company as they are
monitored in almost everything that concerns their job. This could affect their
job efficiency as no worker will work happily if they know and feel that their
company doesn’t trust them. If the monitoring processes are done properly, this
could be avoided from happening.
The Relevance of a Monitoring App
As the workplace becomes more and more digitalized through mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers, and more, the utilization of a monitoring app can help the ease in business all companies need, especially with their monitoring requirement. Using a monitoring app, you can identify if employees are browsing the internet of sites not related to the business. You can also monitor if employees are wasting company hours by spending time on their cyber activities, such as texting, chatting, and more. Through this monitoring app, you can also protect vital files, data and information of the company stored in computers from getting stolen by dishonest employees who will sell them to your competitors. Monitoring Apps: Is there a Need for Monitoring Employee Online Activity?
Business owners who have not yet tried
using one are probably going “How does an
employee monitoring software work and where can I get a good one?” because
of their need to make sure their employees are actually doing work in the
workplace. You probably know what most managers complain about. Yes, they
grumble about their employees not performing all that well at work. Mind you,
most employees probably do work and waste little time, but there is the odd egg
in every basket and that odd egg costs the company money.
Why Employees Should be Monitored.
There are Three Main Reasons Why Employees
Should be Monitored.
The first involves productivity and loss of resources. Many of them waste their time (actually the company’s time) playing games on their phones, doing social media, or watching cat videos for hours on end. These time-wasters are the reason why companies lose a lot of money. Imagine having one or two members of your team wasting 1.5 hours on time-wasters on a daily basis. If you’re paying them $11 per hour, you will be looking at a loss of $27,000 a year. That’s a steep price.
The second concerns employee safety. You need to track where employees in the field are every chance you get. These employees may be exposed to dangers like power lines if your company is a contractor that works with the electric company. Or your delivery guys bringing stuff to your customers out of town could encounter dangerous roads and other hazards. You need to make sure that at every check in they are wherever they are supposed to be or they have a reason for a detour. It’s not a good habit paying for insurance and other damages if your employee gets injured.
The third has to do with company security. Although your company might have its own domain where data and information is stored, there is no knowing when someone might think that leaking secrets to competitors is a good idea. And to prevent that, you need to have a monitoring software that can alert the system whenever somebody is sending an email to an unauthorized domain or doing social media while at work (yes, because these sites have apps that can send and receive files).
Getting a reliable monitoring device
that can track employees while they are online is a very valuable tool for a
business owner. Investing in one can help boost productivity by deterring
employees from using time-wasters. They can also help secure any and all data
that the company has in its servers. But employers need to make sure that the
app comes from a reliable source, one that is trusted by many.
Look no further than Highster Mobile.

How to Be Happy in the Information Age
There’s difficulty in learning how to find real joy in the 21st century when rapid developments in technology have taken over almost every aspect of communication. Sometimes the highlight of your birthday is getting greeted by your friends with a couple of emojis. At one point in your 21st century life, you wonder if there’s anything to be happy about. Behavioral scientists have studied what makes humans happy and by changing a few things in your life can help you achieve contentment and ultimately happiness.
Mind Reconditioning
The first step to achieving happiness in life is to recondition your mind. Social media has allowed us to see almost everything in the world at one. You’ll know that your cousin Sheila at least 200 miles away is about to give birth. You will also see posts about wars and famine happening on the other side of the globe and your mind tends to stick on the negative things more than positive things.
It is advised however to accept the fact that anything can happen in the world and it’s not your fault. 7 billion people in the world exists and even 1% of the population near that earthquake in Japan can help as opposed to you living almost halfway around the world. Bad things are bound to happen to other people and if you are not in any position to help, then don’t sweat it.
Helping where it Counts
It’s really tempting to log on the internet and signing a signature campaign or donating 1 dollar to a cause. These don’t really satisfy your soul. When doing acts of kindness, focus more on your own surroundings. Helping others is a noble thing but start helping yourself first. Look at yourself and do what you can to improve then spread out to your family, neighbors and friends. These have more impact and can be more satisfying to the soul than clicking websites.
Take that First Step
Depression can often debilitate you. Many times, people who are depressed don’t want to move and get up from their beds. They often think of everything that lies before them that they become anxious and stiff. Someone dreading going to work often thinks about the mean co-workers pile of documents waiting on the desk. Instead of thinking of things that you haven’t met yet, try to focus on what’s in front of you.
Take the first step out of bed. Then step to the bathroom to clean yourself up. Then to the kitchen to prepare food. And before you know it, you’re riding an Uber to work. Sometimes, it’s all about taking that first step that’s important in conquering depression before one learn how to find real joy in their lives.
Optimism trumps Pessimism
There’s another form of mind reconditioning that is just as important. Optimism is force that can dispel gloom. We’re not talking about denial where you ignore problems in life. Optimism is the acceptance that there is a problem but there’s also a solution or many solutions for it. Solutions will present themselves if you are optimistic.

Teaching Kids To Incorporate Technology
There’s a debate with many parents about how much technology is good for children. Some parents believe the more technology the better, while others believe there is little good to technology. However, teaching kids to incorporate technology into their lives can only help them in the future. Not every child has the ability to have a computer or iPad, so take advantage of what you have. You may not want your kid playing Call of Duty Black Ops 1111, but there are educational apps.

Some parents don’t want their children using technology just because they didn’t grow up with them. The truth is, the world is growing and thriving with technology. While previous generations are not used to it, the children of today depend on it. In classrooms many teachers use smart boards to demonstrate lessons. Offices use computers to show presentations of their work to others. But completely limiting technology is not a good idea. Even though you use a cell phone spy app on occasion.
Teaching Kids About It
If your child doesn’t know much about technology, it is not too late. You can still catch them up before they fall behind their friends and classmates. Without these skills in technology, children won’t be as prepared in Middle School and beyond. They will be behind the learning curve when it comes to technology, and education and jobs are very competitive.
I’m not supporting unfiltered and unsupervised access to technology. Parents should be monitoring what their kids are watching and looking up online. They should spend some time on those devices and know how to use them. Spending time on the computer isn’t bad, as long as that time is used to encourage learning and creativity.

Which Technology Is Best?
It is proven that giving kids access to technology does increase their problem-solving skills, focus and memory. Technology can also teach kids how to cooperate with others which is important as you progress in school. Before you make the decision to limit your children’s technology, do some research. Read about the many ways that technology can be beneficial.
