Dead Girl Haunting available for FREE
Hiya, guys!
Just wanted to let you know that my book Dead Girl Haunting, which is a lighthearted tale about a sarcastic ghost failing at playing cupid, fighting phoney ghost hunters, occasionally haunting the living, and maybe, sort of, finding peace, is available for free today (Feb 4, 2020) till Saturday (Feb 8, 2020) on Amazon Kindle. Check it out if you're interested!
Love,
Mina. 💕

All Time Favourites
Hello, wonderful people of the world!
I recently posted about giving away my favourite books on my birthday (more info at: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog... ). Here’s a list of some of my all time favourites I’ll be choosing to send from:
The Hate U Give
This book is, without a doubt, one of the most relevant books I’ve ever read. Starr’s main concern in life is trying to find balance between her black heritage and white school, but everything changes when she witnesses the murder of a black friend at the hands of a police officer, a crime that may go unpunished. THUG is as heart-breaking as it is hilarious, and it really opens its reader’s eyes to the struggles of being black in America, and racism in general. It’s a powerful and important read I would love to share, especially before the movie comes out!
Six of Crows
I remember the first time I read this book. I’d randomly picked this book on a trip to a bookstore earlier that day, and ohmygod am I glad that I did. Six of Crows is a mind-blowing, heart-rate-increasing, sleep-stealing thriller that won’t let you put it down until you’re on the last page, after which you will rush to get your hands on the second book. It is diverse and intelligent, with characters you’ll fall in love with, and a heist that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. I’ve already forced a bunch of stranger browsing bookstores to buy it with my fangirling, and would love to gift it to one of you guys.
Letters to the Lost
When Juliet leaves a letter written to her mother on her grave, she doesn’t expect a reply, least of all a connection with a stranger, deep enough to touch her heart. But life is rarely what we expect.
This book deals with love and grief along with labels and acceptance in a very realistic way, making you feel every word. It was deep and beautifully written, and most definitely one of my favourite reads in the genre.
Dark Matter
My dad read this book before me. He stayed up all night and didn’t put it down until he reached the last word.
The following night, I did the same.
Jason Dessen is a guy who knew he could have accomplished great things if he had made different decisions in life. One day, after being abducted and knocked unconscious, he wakes up in a world just like that.
The only problem: he never married the woman he loves, and his son no longer exists.
Dark Matter is sci-fi at its best. The science is based on real scientific knowledge (trust me, I’m a physicist) and rarely has actual science been used to create such a gripping, mind-bending story. This is the kind of book that’ll keep you up at night days after you finish it, and will stay with you for years. All-in-all, a must read.
Illuminae
You MUST read this trilogy if you like:
Thrillers
Drama
Scary Aliens
Villains that put Scar to shame
Clever books
Devious AIs
Heroes/Heroines that make you swoon
Girl Power
Oh-my-God-what-just-happened whodunnits
Alternate universes
Freaky science
Yourself (because you’ll hate you if you give this a miss)
All Our Yesterdays
“Time travel isn’t a wonder; it’s an abomination.”
And Terrill really does get you believing, in time-travel and all the horrors that would come with it.
Em and Finn are locked up and being tortured for answers by the Doctor, answers they cannot give. There’s no way out, until Em finds a letter from her future self, with clear instructions: she must travel back in time and avert a tragedy that is about to unfold. Worse still, she must kill the boy she loves to change the future.
Telling you anything more about this book would be a spoiler, but I will say that this book is one of the biggest emotional roller coasters I have ever been on. It has complex characters, kick-ass protagonists and heart-stopping life-or-death scenarios. And most of all, it’s a book that really makes you think.
The Forbidden Wish
The Forbidden Wish is the feminist twist on Aladdin you didn’t know you needed, and not just because our jinni is a girl. This books has kickass ladies, warrior princesses, beautiful female friendship and girl power at its finest. While Aladdin may steal your heart like the boy thief he is, Zahra, our jinni, will win it with her determination and strength. This book is retelling at its finest.
Vicious
This is a superhero book filled with messed up villains, with no hero in sight. Victor and Eli (college roommates) find out something impossible: that under the right near-death conditions, a person could develop extraordinary abilities. Jump ten years later to Victor breaking out of prison, set on a path of destruction with one target in mind: Eli. This is a complex tale of friendship, betrayal, jealousy and ambition, set in a world of greys. Each and every character is extremely well-written, and the story itself keeps you hooked. The sequel comes out soon, so if you haven’t already read it, now is the perfect time.

GIVEAWAY!
Sooooooo. I've decided to do a giveaway, but with a bit of a twist.
Instead of giving away my own book, I'd like to give away 4 of my favourite books to people who, by July 30, 2018, have read and reviewed "A Princess's Guide to Dragon Domestication" on Goodreads.
You might be thinking:
How would this work?
If you read the blurb of A Princess’s Guide and find yourself interested, you can buy it on Kindle (cheapest), ebook or paperback, from Amazon or other online retailers. If you've read and posted your review on Goodreads by the 30th of July, your name will be entered into a computer program that will randomly select 4 people. I will then post my favourite books (1 each) to the folks selected.
OK, but why are you doing this instead of a classic Goodreads giveaway?
1) I get to promote my book AND share my favourite books this way.
2) I'll get to play Santa on my birthday, which I think is a pretty awesome birthday gift to myself.
Right, but what if I read your book and don't like it?
That's perfectly fine. Even though I'd like you to check out my book because you genuinely think you'd like it (I wrote this book to make people laugh, I'd hate for it to do this opposite), it's okay if you read it and find out that it's not your thing. I'm trying to reach the appropriate audience with this giveaway and not just sell my book. Your review (whatever your opinion) can help me do that, and will be as valuable as any other review.
Okay, but I'm not really much of a reviewer...?
And that's fine too! This is not a grammar/vocabulary or review competition. It doesn't have to be a deep analysis or anything. As long as your review is... a review and not gibberish, and at least 4-5 lines long, we're good.
I've already reviewed your book, can I still take part?
Of course (thank you so much for your time and support)! Your name has already been entered.
So I do this and I win. What happens next?
I'll contact you (via messages on Goodreads) on the 31st of July, to let you know you've won and ask for a mailing address. I'll also check your other reviews/ratings on Goodreads out, match you with a book (from my list) I think you'll like best, and then send a new copy over to you using Amazon, Wordery or a different suitable online bookshop that does international deliveries.
Let me know if there are any other questions.
So, yep. That's it. Check out the blurb and/or the free sample available on kindle and if you think "A Princess's Guide to Dragon Domestication" is something you'd enjoy reading, please do consider participating. (:

Quote of the day
You read so many books to know it all,
yet fail to ever read your heart at all.
You rush to holy shrines to play a part,
Would you dare enter the shrine of your heart?
You are quick to attack The Evil One,
yet pride is a battle you have not won.
You grab for a star you can control,
yet fail to grasp the light in your soul.
Let the race end, my friend.
