Tuesday Teaser from SHAE
Here's another peek into SHAE: A BEAUTY & THE BEAST GAY ROMANCE!
A few days after he's freed Marc from a rogue trap and saved his life, Shae returns to Fennys Lake to look for the alpha and check on his injuries. He's done a little research in the meantime, though, and knows that the sexy outlaw might actually be a notorious killer: Marc Rufus, the rogue king...
...
The blue and silver glimmer of water dances through the trees in front of me. Fennys Lake, finally. I step out onto the pebbled shore, and there, at the water’s edge, is my rogue.
He’s standing facing away from me, absolutely motionless. The sunlight makes the tanned skin on his bare arms gleam and the velvety hint of fleece on his head sparkle like gold. He’s holding a fishing rod in both hands. Again, pointlessly, I try to pick up his scent, experiencing a sudden, acute yearning for it.
“Nurse Greyson,” he says in a low voice without turning his head. Of course, my scent betrayed me. It feels unfair that he’s known I’m here the moment I stepped out of the forest. He’s known I was coming for the last ten minutes, probably.
As I walk up to him, he turns around to me. He looks—yeah, like the rugged criminal he is. In the bright afternoon light, his hard, unforgiving features look like carved out of bronze marble, and his arms are all sculpted alpha strength.
God, I love his looks.
“You been waiting for me?” I say instead of a greeting.
He turns scarlet. He shouldn’t even be able to with his suntan, but he actually turns frigging scarlet.
“Hey, why are you blushing like that?” I laugh. “Hey, you can blush like a Rufus!”
The laughter dies in my throat. A Rufus.
What if he is? What if he really is that surviving son Sky talked about, the rogue king? Someone who’s not only committed murder, but who’s suspected to have killed his own pack?
He lowers the fishing rod. “You’re a blusher, too,” he says, sounding surprisingly defensive and not at all like a deranged killer. “I can tell you’re a Greyson from that alone. Everyone knows you Greysons blush like little kids.”
Rogue king or not, he needs an answer to that.
“Okay, I’m a Greyson, but you are ginger.”
He stares at me.
“You shaved off your hair because it’s ginger! Admit it! You did it because you have what they call the Rufus flare on your head and people kept being a pest about it.”
“That’s not why I shaved it off.”
“Why did you, then?”
He turns away and reels in the fishing line. “Didn’t I tell you not to come back?” he asks over his shoulder. “If you become a risk to my people, I’ll have to keep you.”
“Oh, yeah?” I scoff.
He puts the rod on the ground and closes the distance between us with a few strides.
“You think I won’t do that?” he asks, glaring down at me. “Think again, duckling.”
“Don’t call me duckling.”
“Why not? You look like one, with that funny sort of down you have for hair.”
He’s attacking me back about my hair. I hate it, and it feels like pure electric energy.
“We’ve talked about that, haven’t we? It’s better than being bald,” I shoot back.
He utters a brief, rasping laugh. “Hey, don’t get mad. I like down. But seriously. Don’t come here again. Don’t force me to take you prisoner.”
His eyes bore into mine. Is this a threat?
“If you did, my pack would come look for me,” I reply hoarsely.
“I know they would. You’re lucky, Shae Greyson, do you even know that?” This time, his laugh sounds different. Desolate. He shakes his head and adds roughly, “But they wouldn’t find you. So. Don’t do that to them.”
This is a threat all right. …

Tuesday Teaser from SHAE
Today, I have a teaser from SHAE: A BEAUTY & THE BEAST GAY ROMANCE for you. Marc has taken Shae to his place so the young omega nurse can take care of his injuries. Finding himself alone with the sexy alpha rogue turns out to be more challenging for Shae than he expected...
The Sea Rose’s captain’s cabin is a tiny, very tidy living room with a low beamed ceiling and an alcove bed in one corner, half hidden behind blue-gray drapes made of heavy silk. Leather chairs, an oak table with a crystal vase full of wild roses on it, and wooden walls lined with bookshelves make for the perfect mix of luxury and coziness.
“Okay, wow. Again,” I say, staring at a row of beautifully embossed, leatherbound tomes on astronomy and navigation on a shelf next to me.
“Why are you surprised? Let me guess. You didn’t expect me to be able to read.”
Marc shuts the door behind him and busies himself with the radiant heater under one of the bull’s eyes.
“I guess I didn’t expect you’d have flowers in here.”
He straightens himself. “You’re surprised I appreciate beauty?” His eyes are on me. “I thought you’d already noticed.”
I lower my eyes because in this moment, I just can’t meet his gaze. I feel it traveling over me, hot and intense and igniting my every omega instinct. With trembling hands, I gather the blanket in my hands and pull it together in front of myself.
I told my pack leader I wanted fun, a little fling; I told Marc the same. I made him kiss me, and when he didn’t fuck me, I asked him why and even complained to him, kind of. After everything that happened tonight, I know beyond any doubt that if there’s anyone I want to take my virginity, it’s him. Why, then, am I suddenly afraid, just because I’m alone with him in his super homey bedroom and he talks about beauty as if he meant me? By rights, I should be laughing and give him a snarky response. Or a playful, flirty one. Instead, I’m so tense I feel like I’m going to explode. What’s the matter with me?
“Hey, it’s okay, Shae,” he says in a low voice. “You’re safe with me. Don’t you know that? I might be a criminal, but I’d never touch an omega who isn’t willing.”
Okay, that’s not going to help much.
Looking at him standing there with his bare pecs gleaming and everything of interest clearly outlined under the wet piece of fabric between his leather chaps, I feel like someone slipped me a hot suppository. And my boner, though a little challenged by my nerves, is still refusing to settle.
I’m alone with the rogue king and his fancy alcove bed, and the simple fact is this: the only one I can’t trust is myself.
“You need treatment,” I say briskly, determined to get a grip. “We mustn’t waste any more time.”
“All right, but first you should get out of your jeans.”
I swallow as I look at him, probably from saucer-sized eyes, damnit.
He grins softly. “Omegas are vulnerable to dampness and cold, and bladder infection is something not to be trifled with, isn’t it, Nurse?”
He reaches into a wardrobe and pulls out a pajama. Holding it out to me, he says, “If you roll up the legs and sleeves and tie the strings, it should work.”
I take the clothes from him and turn away, my hands still shaking.
I have to stop being ridiculous. He’s said he won’t touch me unless I ask him to, and I know he’ll be true to his word. So, what’s the worst that can happen?
As I pull off my jeans and put on the pajama bottoms, doing my best to keep the blanket in place and hide that obstinate semi, there’s the sound of dishes clinking behind me. Marc has moved over to the tiny electric stove and is busy putting a kettle on.
“How about some tea? I think a hot drink would be a good idea, don’t you?”
He’s giving me space and keeps the conversation going to dispel the tension. How can a guy with a history like his and a face to match be sensitive and considerate like this? But he is, and his scent tells me everything else I need to know about him—everything that, deep down, I’ve known from the start.
He’s perfect. And that’s exactly my problem.
I was on the lookout for a fling, and I thought he’d be right for that. What better candidate for a little bedroom fun, no strings attached, than a sexy convict on the run, right? That’s what I thought, I guess. But now?
The better I get to know him, the more I’m losing my conviction I can handle this. What’s the worst that can happen? That I’ll be drawn into a current that’s stronger than me and that’ll pull me away from everything that I thought would be my life, off into the unknown.
That along with my virginity, I’ll lose my heart. …

About LASKA:
Laska Greyson goes to a party one single time and ends up with a kid and no mate. Gossip at Fennys Den College is raging. Laska couldn’t care less. The bookish omega is so guileless and focused on his studies he mostly doesn't even realize that people can be nasty or have hidden agendas. It’s his superpower and also his greatest weakness.
Toriên DaSilva, professor for Were Studies, is notorious for mercilessly enforcing college regulations. Everyone cowers before the authoritarian alpha with the permanent scowl. Everyone but the young Greyson omega with the baby, the brilliant test scores, and the dreamy eyes.
One night, Toriên catches Laska after curfew on campus in a downpour. Toriên decides to accompany the student to his dorm, purely for safety reasons. Laska needs a hot shower so he won’t catch pneumonia, and someone to tell him that. When Toriên does, Laska complies – and asks the professor to please watch the baby till he’s done. He seems to assume that Toriên can deal with a fussy six-months-old. And with the sight of Laska in a flimsy bathrobe.
It’s the beginning of a very particular relationship. Toriên finds he simply isn’t equipped to resist the pull of the gently anarchic beauty. Laska triggers all his protective instincts - and a couple more.
Old wounds mean he can’t ask Laska to be his mate. He’s damaged goods, and Laska deserves someone better. Someone younger too. To keep Laska safe from unwanted advances, Toriên makes him his official consort. It’s hard to keep himself from marking Laska, but the professor is determined not to ruin his lover’s prospects for a better future.
Until the alpha who took advantage of Laska and sired his kid turns up to claim him, invoking ancient law. Forcing Toriên to forget the rules, face his demons and desires, and fight for what’s his.

EXCERPT from LASKA (Toriên’s point of view):
Laska is sitting in the armchair in front of the fireplace, wrapped up in a blanket. With the fire burning, my office is way warmer than my apartment, so this is where I’ve taken him. It feels safer, too. He’s recovering from an assault. There must be no trace of anything that might feel like a threat to him.
God, he looks so small in the big chair.
“Try not to think about Hagen for now, Laska. He’s not a danger to you anymore.”
He takes a few sips from his mug, then lifts his head. “Can you come sit with me?”
I know he needs the body contact; I should have joined him and let him snuggle up to me right away when we came here, and I would have, if it hadn’t been for my darned feelings for him.
“Please?” he says like an afterthought. It’s typical for him to forget to say things like please and thank you. The thought that he believes I’m not helping him the way I should because he hasn’t been polite enough is intolerable.
Shoot, I’m supposed to be strong. I can do this.
Putting his mug to the side, I bend down to him and lift him up, then sit down in the armchair with him on my lap. Not hesitating for a second, he slings his arms around me and wriggles about to find the perfect position. With a sigh, he relaxes against my chest. Since he’s still wrapped in his blanket from neck to toe, all I feel of his body is his modest weight and his silky hair tickling my chin. Which leaves his scent as the main problem. It’s sweet, sweet temptation, and the fact there’s still a whiff of Hagen’s mixing into it sparks off a primal need to make him mine in my loins.
I fidget in my seat, trying to will my body to cut off the blood supply to my groin.
“Am I too heavy?” he asks. “I’m really sorry…”
Something bubbles up inside me. I’ve been prepared for all kinds of uncontrollable reactions he might trigger in me, but not for laughter. “No, you aren’t too heavy.” …
“I’ve been thinking, Torie,” Laska says. “Maybe you could make me your consort.” … He traces the buttons of my shirt with two fingertips, almost as if he were about to open them, but that’s not what this is about. This is stimming. “Hagen said people were considering me… up for grabs,” he continues. “If I were your consort, they’d stop thinking that. They’d consider me yours.”
I stare down at his smooth brow.
“You’ve decided you don’t want a mate, and I have, too, but by being your consort, I could belong to you without marriage, right?” he says. “We’d both be able to keep our resolutions, yet people would leave me alone.” He raises his gaze to mine, blinking. “What do you think?” …
“It’s complicated.”
“Not really, is it? Claiming a consort is a pretty straightforward procedure.”
He’s right. All it would take is for me to wrap him in my scent every couple of days and to have him live here in my apartment as our shared territory. That would suffice to advertise his new status as my consort to the community.
He’s stopped fingering my buttons and bites his nails now instead. “Of course, you don’t have to do it. It’s not your responsibility to help keep nasty alphas away from me or anything, obviously—”
“It is. It is my responsibility. You wouldn’t be in this situation if I had done my job and kept you safe. I do want to help you; God, I do. Only, taking you as my consort would feel really wrong. An omega consort is considered property. You aren’t an object.”
He shrugs. “I wouldn’t mind. You wouldn’t treat me like one, so, no problem.”
I try to think of another argument.
He’s stopped biting his nails and is watching me. “There would be a couple of benefits for you, too, you know. I’d do your housekeeping—”
“You definitely won’t be doing any housekeeping.”
A small frown appears between his eyebrows. “I can do things. I know how to do the laundry, load the dishwasher, make an omelet, and a lot more things.”
“I’m sure you do. That’s not the point.”
“Why don’t you want me as your consort, then? You could sleep with me anytime, too.”
Oh God. I could.
His way of making his points gives me whiplash. He spells things out with absolutely no filters, and it’s made all the worse by the fact he’s doing it from a place of utter innocence.
“I wouldn’t do that. I…”
“You wouldn’t sleep with me? Why not? You’re having a reaction to me.”
I slip out from under him and get to my feet. “I’m not having a reaction.”
He glances up at me, looking completely confused. Somehow, it feels really bad to lie to him, knowing he has these troubles with seeing through people. It feels like the worst kind of gaslighting.
“Okay, I have a reaction to you. I like you.” That is the truth. Of course, it’s also a giant understatement, but there’s no need to be specific about the exact degree to which I like him, to be sure.
He smiles. There’s a remote hint of roguishness to that smile, and I find him sexier than ever, wrapped in his blanket up to his chin like he is.
“So, are you saying yes?”

Because Mathias isn't the obnoxious prat Daniel expected, but the sweetest man he has ever met. Here's a little peek into New Year's Eve at 10 Downing Street. Daniel hasn't yet told Mathias he's going to quit... Mattie takes a step forward, tentatively. “What if you let me take care of you for a bit?”
He smiles up at me and reaches for my hand. It’s a small, almost shy gesture. But I know what he wants.
He wants to take me to the couch, and then to seventh heaven.
I can’t tell him I’ll quit. Fuck, I can’t do it. Not now.
Instead, I’m going to do what he wants, what I want. I’m going to steal another half hour of happiness.
Hell, am I really doing this, putting off the inevitable? Why can’t I be strong? I’ve always believed I was; I’m at two hundred and twenty pounds and can bench-press the same weight. Shouldn’t that count for something?
But all my muscle seems to suddenly have turned to jelly.
A small, smug smile tugs at the corners of his mouth. Rising up on tiptoe, he leans in to meet me for a kiss. And I bend down to him, like a puppet drawn by strings, and let my mouth find his.
His lips and tongue feel so good, like the ultimate answer and at the same time the promise of more.
My reaction is as urgent as it’s predictable. He chuckles into the kiss, then breaks it. Still holding my hand, he leads me over to the couch and gently pushes me down. With his gaze trained to mine, he goes down on his knees in front of me. When he touches my thigh, I close my eyes, shivering.
One last time.
...
