Wicked Things individual blurbs & content warnings
Wicked Things, my paranormal MM collection, contains 4 separate stories.
Here are each of their blurbs, tropes & content warnings:
1
Scared to Death
There once was a sad farmer…
After tragedy strikes, Ezekiel Abrams is left alone to stew in his own misery on his family farm. Grief-stricken, he forfeits the life he once knew, searching for solace in the bottom of a bottle.
The only lingering reminder of his lost love is the source of his constant torment.
The scarecrow mocks him, pours gasoline on the flickering flame of his lament. Little does he know, the lifeless being holds a secret…
One he’ll never outrun.
**Scared to Death is a Grim Reaper-inspired MM story which contains graphic depictions of dubious consent, violence, grief, suicidal thoughts, alcoholism, mention of cancer, and biblical references that could be considered “blasphemous”.
2
Purr For Me
In the woods lived a boy named Peter…
Pyotr is used to being called a dreamer. The boy with romantic ideas grew into a man with a dark obsession. His mischievous side is what earned him the nickname from his grandfather.
They say curiosity killed the cat. But “Purr” is more like a dog with a bone.
There is a real threat to the village. A predator lurking in the shadows, terrorizing the people of the Hallowed Forest. And so the rules are very simple: Kill on sight. Bring his head in exchange for an exorbitant bounty.
But one look at this foreboding creature and Purr has concocted other plans. He will capture The Wolf himself… And keep him.
**Purr For Me is an MM age gap werewolf shifter retelling of Peter and the Wolf, featuring BDSM, Daddy Dom, knotting, and a lingerie fetish.
3
Wrecked
They say the ocean holds a great many treasures…
Sailing the vast sea for months on end could be overwhelming to some. But Andros Van Alden has voyage in his veins. Son of the infamous Bastard of the Bay, Andros was born to be a pirate. And proving himself equally ruthless is an important part of his image.
In this life, reputation is the lock and perception is the key. If he has any hope of making it out of these waters alive, and more importantly, making it out rich, he’ll need to remain vigilant.
Navigating his ship amidst rumors and tall tales is to be expected. But resisting the temptations of his bounty could prove much more challenging…
All while trapped in the looming presence of his childhood nightmares.
**Wrecked is an MMM retelling of The Little Mermaid meets Moby Dick, featuring a pirate and his voyage, a city of mer-people, and a Kraken with secrets. It contains some dubious consent, mention of kidnapping/abuse and Stockholm Syndrome, tentacle-kinks, breath play, and multiple penetration. Please note that this fictional story takes place in the 18th century, and presents some mild homophobia reflective of the time period.
4
The Creator’s Hands
The end is often a beginning…
The year is 2525. The place, Planet Theobroma.
Here, a race of beings exists, far more advanced than we could have comprehended. The Theobromians plucked one choice human from Earth five hundred years ago, before the planet fell, preserving him for the perfect moment.
Dr. Bastien Krenworth is their new prized possession. A neuroscientist with elaborate knowledge of human psychology, he has been tasked with a very special job… Creating a race of alien clones to inhabit the now uninhabited Planet Earth. The Theobromian government is specific in their requests, the purposes of these clones quite clear…
Love and companionship. War and combat. Reproduction. Entertainment. The list goes on. In fact, it seems the only thing our alien masters haven’t considered is the one thing that could risk their entire operation…
Ownership.
**The Creator’s Hands is a queer polyamorous alien retelling of Frankenstein, featuring an MMM relationship, and non-binary beings. It contains taboo themes that could be considered familial relations, voyeurism, Daddy kink, sharing sexual partners, mild violence, and toxic/possessive behavior.

Double-edged Trigger Warnings
WoW. It's been a longggg ass time since I've written in here! How's everyone doing?!?
I figured this would be the perfect spot to share some information about my upcoming release, Double-edged. And I'll explain why in a moment.
But first, let me tell you about the book.
Double-edged is a full-length standalone taboo MMM (male-male-male polyamorous throuple) romance novel with HEA. It releases live on March 10th, exclusive to Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.
The MC's (main characters, or protagonists, if you will) are two twin brothers and their stepdad.
So basically... yes. This book contains "twincest", as we call it.
It also contains a decent age gap (roughly 18 years of difference) between the twins and the stepdad. AND on top of that, the first sexual encounter with him occurs technically before their eighteenth birthday. Meaning... TECHNICALLY, they are underage.
Now, for those of you who read my books and follow me, you know I LOVE age gap. And I also greatly relate to characters who engage in sexual activity with older parties before they're eighteen. This is because I was that person.
I lost my virginity when I was fifteen to an eighteen year old. TECHNICALLY, that was statutory rape, because the age of consent where I grew up is seventeen. And I find that entire notion to be utter hogwash.
Plainly speaking, it's crap.
Sure, the age gap in my real-life story wasn't big at all, but that's not the point. I personally don't see a difference between a seventeen-year-old hooking up with someone in their thirties, and an eighteen-year-old hooking up with someone in their thirties. It's a difference of a couple months that one million percent does NOT change anything about the personality, maturity, etc. of that person. But I digress...
If age gap romance isn't your thing... Cool. You're entitled to read what you want and not read what you don't want. So... don't read my books. Because they all contain age gaps in some form. I'm here now to make sure everyone knows what they're getting into when they read my stuff, in particular, this upcoming book of mine, Double-edged.
However, if you DO enjoy reading Age Gap romance, welcome! You're my peeps! Now, let's proceed to the next topic that might make you feel icky.
The twincest.
I'll say this again, in case you've made it to this point without really listening to what I'm saying...
THIS. BOOK. IS. TABOO.
If you don't read taboo stories, and you know incestuous FICTION makes you uncomfy, then please do not read this book. Just don't.
If you decide to take a chance on it, great! But don't come for me if it ends up disturbing you like I told you it would. I want to lynch mobs, please! Leave me and my readers to be fun and cool.
I'm being very transparent here. There will be no plot twist halfway through the book that reveals these boys aren't technically blood related. They are. 1000000%. They're identical twins who share blood and grew up together.
Now, I refuse to give away plot points, because I already detest in-depth trigger warnings like this because they spoil the story. But I also don't want anyone picking up this book without fully understanding what it holds. I don't want to be blamed for the lack of warnings.
HOWEVER, I also will not be listing trigger warnings on the description pages (on here, Amazon, or anywhere else it's sold). And the reason why is simply that it's a very good way to get your book banned. And I don't want this book to be banned. I would really like for it to be able to stay up on Amazon without problems.
SO, that's why I'm providing all the trigger warnings everywhere else, in hopes that if you choose to pick up this book, you'll check them first.
Lastly, I have to mention the other triggers. Yes, it has more going on than just the incest and the forbidden age gap relationship... I know. What's wrong with you, Nyla??
We don't have time for that right now.
This book is very heavy at times. It deals with serious mental health issues and multiple mentions of suicide. If those things trigger you, please either don't read the book, or proceed with extreme caution.
I'm personally someone who thinks that reading difficult topics in fiction can sincerely help with self-awareness, self-acceptance, and recovery. But if you don't feel the same way, just know this stuff is touched on a lot in this book.
Overall, it's an emotional book, with heavy plot, deep character connection, and so much sex, some of you will DEFINITELY say it's too much. But that's just how I roll.
Smut encased in serious plot, sprinkled with all the kinky taboo goodness that many people will absolutely hate, and hopefully at least some of you will seriously love.
That's Double-edged.
Just like all my other books, you must go into it with an open mind. It's the only way to read my stuff. If you're a Nyla K reader, you're already onboard. If you're new to me, Hi there! Welcome and I'm super excited to have you!
I know my books won't be for everyone. Nothing is for everyone, that's a given. I'm only asking that if you hate this book and think I'm gross for writing it, take it to your review, don't tag me in it, and please just know that while it's not your cup of tea, others will sip it happily.
And that's perfectly fine!
Read Double-edged for FREE in Kindle Unlimited starting March 10th. One-click your copy on Amazon, buy a paperback, a hardcover, whatever you wish! But I recommend doing it right away in case we do end up with complications.
If it happens, I'll take the book to Eden. But for now, buckle in! It's gonna be a complicated ride. ;)

The Countdown is ON!
Ok, guys. It's finally time to start counting down...
Not to the new year, though. We're counting down to the release of Part II in The Midnight City Series: Never Let Me Go.
4 more days until Never Let Me Go is LIVE! Are you excited? I hope so, because I am.
My wonderful, amazing cover design artist, Jada D'Lee, is putting the finishing touches on my cover, which I am already in love with based on the rough proof she sent me last week. But I think I'm going to set it up for Preorder without the cover, just to get the ball rolling and do something because I'm so anxious I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin!!
I cannot wait for everyone to see what happens next in Andrew & Tessa's story.
Just to give you a little insight into what to expect from Part II, let me first start off by saying that NLMG is longer than Midnight City. I know what you're thinking... How the hell is that possible??
Well, I will tell you that when I wrote Andrew & Tessa's 3 Part story, I wrote it all for myself. I honestly never thought it would see the light of day, until my awesome pestering friends started bothering me to publish, which was the best thing I've ever done.
So basically, Never Let Me Go is slightly longer than the other two, but only because so much happens. It is really chock-full of goings on between the lovely couple. AND if that's not crazy enough, I actually do have an uncut version, which contains some deleted scenes, if you will.
What can I say? I just don't know how to end things, that's my problem. I find myself rarely satisfied with endings to books, and it's because I never want anything to end.
So that's basically the central theme of the entire series... Everlasting stories of love, drama, sex, relationships, heartbreak, and bravery.
If at any point when reading Never Let Me Go you think to yourself, Oh my God, why am I still reading this?!, I urge you to just keep going. I promise you, you'll LOVE the way this one ends. And it's probably just my self-deprecation talking here, because it's not that long. I'm just self-conscious about it, because books in this genre are rarely more than 500 pages, and my lengthy stories make me feel like I'm competing with Rowling or Tolkein... although maybe I am! They're both inspirations to the fiction world, so I suppose it's not a bad thing.
Anyway, I'm rambling. As usual.
The point here is that I am INSANELY exited to drop NLMG, and I can't wait for my readers to pick it up (If you get the paperback, try to work in some bicep curls, and by the end you might look like The Situation).
I'm going to post some more teasers on social for the next 4 days, so keep your eyes on my IG and FB... (@authornylak on both).
Love you guys! See you December 31st! ;)

I've been on a binge...
I told you guys when I was done with PUSH, I would make my way through my TBR, right?
Well, guess what. I did.
I saw something on Twitter... An author giving advice to new authors. And one thing she advised was to read. Nonstop. She said the best way to make yourself better is to read other people's works, and then of course write.
I took that advice to heart. In the past couple weeks I've read more and faster than I have in years. I've been plowing through eBooks like Oreos, and because the world of fiction is a constant Niagara Falls of new releases, I'm nowhere near done.
I have enjoyed everything I've been reading, of course some more than others. Suit by BB Easton was amazing. I've loved each part of her 44 Chapters series. All We Want by J. Daniels was an emotional ride. I was balling like a baby from that one! The Glue by K. Webster was wonderful, and it was actually my first MMF, which is awesome, considering the new adventure I'm on with PUSH. AND I read my first gay romance, which was cool. I liked it a lot, up until the end, which seemed like it was rushing a little. But still, it was super helpful for me, since I'm breaking into this whole thing.
I have a few more eBooks on my currently reading shelf, and actually a few paperbacks at home I need to dive into.. Plus, Verity just came out so... that needs to happen. Like ASAP. And speaking of Colleen Hoover, she released a sequel to Maybe Someday on Wattpad. I need to read that. That book crushed my windpipe while I was reading it. I'm serious. I. Couldn't. Breathe.
Still, the reading is making me itch to write some more. And I have an unfinished Part 4 to The Midnight City Series called What It Takes that needs an ending. So finish it I shall!
It's written in first person present tense, which is a first for me. To be honest, I became quite fond of first person past tense when writing PUSH, so jumping back into a different style might be confusing for a second.
But basically the story is of a man named JR Walsh; an Irish actor who has been struggling to escape his fucked up past with an endless stream of partying, drinking, drugs and meaningless sex, causing his wife to leave him and take their young daughter.
JR's life is in shambles when his agent recommends a therapist who works with clients in the entertainment industry. When JR meets Dr. Tatiana Warwick, something inside him switches. But is his desire to show her another side of himself strong enough to push past his demons?
This book is sort of a whirlwind of madness, but I've been on this idea for years now, and I had to wait until I was done with all of Andrew & Tessa's story before I could write it. I also can't wait for fans of TMCS to read it, because it contains Easter Eggs... recurring characters, and whatnot. Very exciting!
Also, I will let you know, for anyone actually reading this, Part 2 of TMCS : Never Let Me Go will DEFINITELY be released by the end of the year. The cover is in the works now, I'm getting the formatting ready... And soon you'll get to find out what's next for Andrew & Tessa! Yay! I can't wait!
Well, I'm off for now. I'm getting back to JR for a little bit. He's so brooding and grumpy and sexy... he deserves my full attention ;)
Happy reading!

PUSH is actually done this time!
I was lying before... About finishing it. Apparently it's not as easy as I like to tell myself it is..
Anyway, how's everyone doing today?! Sorry I haven't written in a while, but it's been Thanksgiving, and my job is insane.
And I've been sort of busy trying to finish this delicious book that is more decadent than the four salted caramel buttercream frosted chocolate cupcakes I ate on Thanksgiving.
Attention smut readers!
PUSH is DONE! For real this time.
I finally finished the first-draft of my taboo MMR meets MMF story of sex, love, jealousy, betrayal, parental drama, polyamory, and all the steaminess in between. PUSHby Nyla K is comin at ya!
My question for anyone out there actually reading this is how interested are you in this story? Just from what I've said so far, does it sound like something you'd be into?
Basically I'm itching to release it, but I'm publishing Parts 2 & 3 of The Midnight City Series first, so it'll probably be next year sometime. However, I would love to know how many people out there are actually interested in taboo MMR/MMF stuff like this. I honestly haven't read any yet myself, but not for lack of desire. I just have been writing so much that I haven't been reading. But I'm super into it.
In fact, that's what I'm doing now that PUSH is done. I'm reading everything on my TBR. Right now. Watch my Currently Reading...it's gonna be like 7 books, one right after the other!
Well, that's all for now. I keep feeling like it's Friday, which sucks. I need the next 24-hours to go by quick because I'm sick of work, and I need a break.
Talk to you guys later! Don't forget to check out my Facebook & Instagram for more exciting daily shenanigans! <3

PUSH by Nyla K
Happy Saturday evening, my freaky-deekys!
It's almost 7pm and I'm just now becoming a functioning adult, because I was up until 7am smoking crack.
No. I'm totally kidding. I wasn't smoking crack in a literal sense. But I was feeding my addiction...
Working on PUSH .
For those of you who are new to my blog, or my page, or just my general life-sharing, PUSH is a book that I'm currently writing, with which I am ALMOST DONE (first draft, I mean).
It started out as a short story. But then all of
a sudden I was over 100 pages and things just started getting real good. So I decided to call it a novella. And then it exceeded 350 pages (AND hasn't even been properly formatted yet!)
That's when I realized that this thing is a full-blown erotic novel, and I need to just be fine with that. Which I am. Because holy FUCK do I love these characters!
This is the most steamy, sexual, explicit, taboo story I've ever written, and I physically could not be more excited. Honestly, if anyone I know reads this book, I'll have to seriously consider never speaking to them again. It's that racy... and scandalous... and oh my GOD so dirty.
But it's also amazing. It's real and raw, and it deals with things that people don't always read/write about. I know there are a bunch of books out there of this genre/category (some of which are on my TBR currently), so I know people will like it.
I just can't believe how hard I fell for these characters. Ben is such a bossy, control-freak with a sweet vulnerable side that makes you swoon til the sun comes up. And Ryan, well... he's just the boy with a heart of gold. Together they're pure perfection. The chemistry and angst is muy caliente. And then when we add Ben's wife, Jessica, into the mix... It turns the whole thing up about fifteen notches!
PUSH is a story about people who end up discovering new layers of themselves that they never knew about. It's about crumpling up labels and just following your heart, loving who you love, despite how different or crazy it may seem.
I cannot wait for people to read this book. Hopefully you like it, and even more hopefully it ends up helping people who are struggling to find or accept themselves.
On that note, leave me alone because I'm going to finish this thing tonight! I'll be up until dawn again, I can already tell... At least we get an extra hour! Go Daylight Savings Time!
Peace & love & sex & cupcakes!

Midnight City started it all...
Good afternoon, readers! It's a pretty dreary day here in Brooklyn. A great day to spend curled up with a sexy story ;)
I have at least 3 eBooks I'm sitting on in my Kindle library right now, but I can't start a book until I can give it my full attention. Anyone else out there feel the same? Or can you guys read multiple books at once?
Also, I've been working on so much Midnight City promo lately that I've been a little distracted. Self-publishing is tough, to say the least. Especially when you're brand new, like I am. That's why I appreciate any attention you guys can give Midnight City. Any pictures, shares, likes and reviews mean the whole world to me.
I'm getting Part 2 in The Midnight City Series: Never Let Me Go ready for publication. Right now I'm working on finding the perfect cover. The cover for Midnight City came out so damn amazing... Better than I could have imagined, thanks to my girl Jada D'Lee Designs . And I want NLMG's cover to be just as sexy and representative of Andrew & Tessa's scorching chemistry, which could be something explored in Part 2 ;) No spoilers, of course!
Anyway, that and the fact that I'm currently writing two other projects at the moment... One that's considered Part 4 of The Midnight City Series, though it's a standalone, called Whatever It Takes (working title).
And this other crazy mind-fuck of a story for which I've been staying up until 6am, my eyes dry and red, as I frantically type faster than my fingers can even manage lol. Where are my fellow authors out there who can relate?
It's called Push, and I started writing it as a short story, but anyone who's read, or even seen Midnight City knows I'm not exactly a short-story person...
So it's already almost 300 pages, and I have at least 3 more chapters to go lol. It's not even a novella anymore. It's a straight novel.
Oh well. I just do what feels right, and let the words flow from inside me. Maybe I can try the short-story thing again someday.
I'm actually spending today writing Push, and I must say, I haven't been so excited about a story in like, ever. I think it's just because it's so different than anything I've written before. It's so damn hot, steamy... almost shockingly risque, taboo-filled and downright titillating. For anyone who's interested in MMR, or MMF, make sure to follow me! You'll want to read this one.
But that being said, my "Currently Reading" shelf is stocked, even though I haven't technically started reading any of them. I'll probably start Suit first, because BB Easton is my jam. And then I'll go for A Nordic King after that. I'm almost done with the first draft of Push. Once I'm done with that, I can get to reading again.
This is why I'll always love Midnight City. It started me on this journey to discovering my passion. I've never felt more alive than when I'm writing a story; creating characters and depicting their lives, their love. I'll be grateful to Andrew and Tessa for the rest of my life, because they woke me up. They made me see that this is what I'm meant to do. Use my vivid imagination, and filthy mind to create alternate worlds. Andrew and Tessa will always be my original babies. I just love them so much.
And I hope you guys do, too! Seriously, read Midnight City . The eBook is only 99 cents until midnight on Monday (pretty apt!) You guys will appreciate the love and sex and drama. I promise you won't regret reading it! And then you'll be all ready for Part 2... due to release in December!
Thanks for checking me out, lovelies! Til next time!

Indie Reader Appreciation Month!
So October is Indie Reader Appreciation Month. And as a self-published indie author, this is something that I must participate in.
I did an Author Takeover on October 13th, on RomanceBooks.blog and it was so much fun! I've never done one before, so I was kind of all over the place. But I did a Facebook live video, introducing myself, since I'm so new to all things "published author", and did a few giveaways. It was a blast!
So of course when the same site offered an opportunity to be a part of their Promo Weekend, I jumped at the chance.
Starting tonight at midnight, my eBook, Midnight City (Part 1 of The Midnight City Series) will be only 99 cents! The sale goes on until end of day Monday the 29th. Also, one lucky reader will win a FREE signed paperback copy!
Sounds pretty sweet, huh?
Make sure to tell your friends, share all over the place... Anyone interested in some great discount romance and erotic novels, check us out: https://romancebooks.blog/indie-reade...
Midnight City is available on Amazon (and potentially iBooks if I get can it up there in time), and you can find me on Facebook and Instagram: @AuthorNylaK
