René Descartes is most famous for his philosophical statement, "I think, therefore I am" ("Cogito, ergo sum"). He was not wrong, but perhaps incomplete.

How do we think? What is it that produces and observes thought? The fundamental nature of "I am" is not thinking but consciousness, which, in turn, generates our thoughts and feelings. The awareness behind and beyond our thinking is called metacognition.

Most people find their happiness restricted by countless problems — difficulties that often appear too complex to fully comprehend, much less manage.
