Gail Meath is the author of the multi-award-winning Jax Diamond Mysteries, a fun 1920s series about wise-cracking PI Jax Diamond, his courageous German Shepherd partner, Ace, and Broadway star Laura Graystone, as they, along with a crazy group of friends, solve some of the toughest crimes in New York City. She is alternating that series with her new 1930s Golden Age of Hollywood mysteries series, Stone & Steele, starring Vivian Steele, a widow seeking justice, and Preston Stone, a playboy vigilante. As always, she blends the most lovable characters with a good, solid mystery.

Gail also has a list of other award-winning historical romances, westerns, and fictional biographies of true heroines. She lives in a small village in Upstate New York

I had such fun finding just the right ones to depict each chapter. Honestly, I'm a very 'visual' person. I have to imagine an entire scene in my mind before writing it. The images helped me do that and, I hoped, they would add some spice (maybe even a tease) for readers. I was disappointed to learn later that on most devices, the images are black and white, rather than color, which is what I use. Thank you again for such a great review! Have a wonderful day:) (less)

Anna Faversham
“Chester stood on the shore watching the waves. Some rose, broke and were subsumed by those that followed. Some danced, their white frothy tops rising and falling rhythmically like a ballerina’s white tutu and in their joy they made progress. Others lazily rolled in and fell short of any prize. Occasionally one roared and raced in as if to capture as much of the land as possible.”

But being as this is a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?”

marta the book slayer Hi Gail! You said such kind words. I'm so glad my review was able to make you laugh! It's always nice to make a fun time out of a miserable situation that occurred while I was reading the book. I'm not sure if I want to have any association with anything "from blood and ash related" but maybe there is a chance that a song like that is 100x better than the book. Looking forward to seeing your reviews :)

Gail Meath JOURNEY INTO THE PAST:
Historical romance fiction isn't just about romance. It takes us away to distant eras where we travel to faraway places long ago, meet fascinating people both legendary and fictional and learn about history without even realizing it. It provides us with an adventurous escape from 'normal' life, a sanctuary without boundaries or limitations. Where dreams do come true.

And... it is about romance.

Let me take you on a journey into the past to different worlds that are adventurous, heartwarming, romantic, suspenseful, sometimes frightening, intriguing and fun! Countess Jacqueline is my debut novel and takes place in the Netherlands 1413. But I have completed six other historical romances so far.

Other novels will take you to the Republic of Texas in the Old West; on a high-seas adventure from Bahamas to England to Boston in the 1700s; to Charlotte Harbor, Rochester, New York, for a political thriller at the turn of the nineteenth century; back to Boston where there is an extortion and murder plot in the 1800s; from Kansas City to the Hudson Valley for a murder mystery in the early 1900s; and on the Erie Canal for a coming-of-age adventure in the 1800s. For a brief summary of each, please see my Website at gailmeath.com.
