L.L. Richman has a diverse career background, having spent more than a decade working in radiation physics, and twice that as a director of film and video. Richman is also a pilot and has close ties to the special forces community.

Richman's series feature the pulse-pounding action of small mission units set in the future and near future. Woven into each story is a scientific backdrop that is, if not plausible, at least grounded in some aspect of hard science.

Battlefield Diplomacy by L.L. Richman
"Perfect book for those of you who, like me, enjoy a fast paced space adventure in every chapter. I can see this becoming a movie with few script changes. Very well written. Very good author. I'll be following and reading the sequels. Please, someone," Read more of this review »

“Looking up, he saw Boone crouching on a platform high in the air, a canoe paddle in one hand. Now, there’s a sight you don’t see very often…”
L.L. Richman, Sudden Death

“Most platforms have a small group of kids, employees’ children, who are raised there,” he explained. “Platform rats are easily bored, stuck on a small station like this for long periods of time. They can get into an interesting amount of trouble when left on their own.”
L.L. Richman, Operation Cobalt

“Depending on how well-trained it is, the cat should be able to get away with a lot more than a human could.” Joule turned glittering green eyes on the woman. {Not an it.} A look of startlement crossed Aviva’s face. “Did that thing just talk?” Morrison asked. Joule’s head whipped around to face the man, eyes narrowing. {Not a thing, either.} “Holy shit,” he breathed. “He did.” If a cat could roll its eyes, Joule would be doing so. {Am a she.}”
