I'm still having trouble processing this tragedy that happened yesterday in Newtown, CT. I've been sad and angry all day yesterday and could not sleep. I love kids. This individual Adam Lanza First killed his mother then took the time to drive to the elementary school and kill innocent kids. Why? It is sickening.

They have been at least 5 mass shootings this year in the US all done by young male
s. Young kids today don’t think of the consequences & they become desensitized because they have been over-exposed with graphic violence on television, movies, & violent video games. When you also add that their -not yet- developed brains are overloaded with information coming from many places to the palm of their hands in their cell phones….it worries me…

This rampage killings will keep happening & It's just going to get worse, because many of today's parents are not there emotionally for their children when they need them. Education is paramount.

As a parent/adult/teacher we must Show constant love and also, teach our children from a very young age about morals, give them guidance & teach them how to show respect and have compassion for others. My thoughts and prayers of the families affected on this tragic day.

It makes no sense to compare yourself with others because there will always be better & worse people than you out there. Each person has his own path to make. You are where you are now. Could you reach for the stars & have everything you want? realistically no. You may not win Olympic Gold in London 2012 , or be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company etc but you most definitely have the capacity to make YOUR life as the Masterpiece it could really be. The choice is yours...★

There is a funny story I always tell my students... when I came for the first time to the US. I didn’t speak English (Only Spanish) & I saw on every door the word “exit” which in Spanish means Success = Exito. And then I said :”No wonder Americans are winners ,every door they take leads to success” ~smile :) so next time you open a door remember what it means :)

There’s a Chinese #proverb that says “Wisdom is avoiding all thoughts that weaken you & embracing those who strengthen you” Your mind is like a Ferrari (Or your favorite car) it is Awesome!... but if you put sand on the gas tank it won’t run. Don’t put sand (negativity) on your mind. Think positive, encouraging, uplifting thoughts, & the negative will soon disappear.

This is the new year the new you. You can pass through another year, coasting on cruise control. Or you can step out of your comfort zone, trying things you have never done before, & make 2012 as the year that you elevate from where you are & soar high
