Hi, Karen. Thanks for the question.

I have a few inspirations that helps me keep writing. First off, I love telling stories. I love creating and getting to know my characters. Once I know them, they won't leave me alone so even when I'm not writing, the stories are still being created in my head.

I have goals that I want to reach as a writer. In aiming to reach those goals, I'm inspired to stay on course. It's not always easy, but I try.

Deadlines are also inspiring. There's nothing like writing under the pressure of "oh, crap! I don't want to be late!" Sometimes, that abject terror is the most motivating thing in my arsenal. (less)

Bobby Nash Editing today. Making good progress. Editing is never fun, but it is an important piece of the book's success. Writers, here's your pro tip for the day. A good editor can help take a manuscript to the next level. When an editor and writer compliment one another, magic happens. It's important to remember that they are partners, not adversaries. They both want to make the best book they can.

Bobby Nash
I'm back in the office after being away for six days (three at a convention and three working on a film set) and boy did things pile up while I was away. This is the downside to being a one man band. There's no one to pick up my slack. ha! I'm back in the office today, moving slow, but ready to work. I am tired, achy (lots of standing, walking, and running on set), and medicated as I picked up a sweet little sinus infection from being outside in Georgia's crappy high pollen for three days. Trying hard to nip it in the bud so I don't lose my voice as I have a writer's conference on Saturday and a podcast interview on Sunday.

I've been thinking a lot about my writing career of late, which is moving as though it is stuck in quicksand. I guess that means it's sink or swim time so I will be making some changes to how I do things going forward so I can make my business a success. The first casualty of this looks to be conventions. I have been operating at a loss for a couple of years now on conventions. Sales never equal money spent on hotel and travel so, for the foreseeable future, I won't be doing as many Comic Cons and pop culture cons as in the past. There are some that are exceptions to the rule. I will still be at DragonCon, which is the exception to almost every rule. It is its own unique animal. I'll continue to do literary events, smaller one day shows, and the like as the costs attached to them are minimal (I already have some posted on my website), but I have to cool it on the two and three three day shows for a while unless they want to cover my travel/hotel costs, which has happened in the past. It's a shame, as I love the cons, but from a business standpoint, this is what I have to do right now. Plus, this will give me more time at home to write.

Fear not, I am not going anywhere. I plan to keep on writing and putting out books that I hope you will all want to read (please, tell your friends too) and you can still get autographed books from me directly through www.bobbynash.com , www.ben-books.com , or by messaging me directly on social media. I am not hard to find.

Well, I've got six days of backlog to get caught up on so I will sign off for now and get to work.

Thanks for listening.

My branding efforts must be working. Now I'm getting junk mail addressed to Author Bobby Nash. Ha! Ha!

On Instagram, I was informed that they left off "award-winning" so I guess I still have some work to do, huh? Ha! Ha!

Bobby Nash Forced myself out of bed today to get some work done & actually managed to accomplish some, but it really took it out of me. I'm beat so time to push away from the desk, grab a big bowl of veggie soup, and settle in the the first part of the CW's 3 part crossover and a little Doctor Who. Should make sir a fun evening. #amwriting

Bobby Nash Got in some writing tonight, which was a refreshing change of pace. Project is slowing moving forward. Hopefully, I can pick up speed as the week continues on. Right now, I think it's time to push away from the laptop. A little TV to unwind before I catch the last train to slumberville. Sweet dreams.

I am sad to announce that I have had to cancel my appearance at the Nashville Comic Con 25th Anniversary Event at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds on December 8 - 9, 2018. I was looking forward to returning to Nashville after a few years away, but alas, fate and finances decided otherwise. If you're in the Nashville area, I recommend checking out this fun convention. They have an amazing guest list that includes some of my favorite people, who I am bummed that I will miss out on spending time with at the con.

Learn more at www.comiccitytn.com and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/nashvillecomicday and tell everyone hi for me.

I'm sad to report that the Book Degree 4.0 Book Fair scheduled for December 1, 2018 in Duluth, GA has been cancelled. It does not look to be rescheduled either. I'm bummed. I was looking forward to a fun day surrounded by books and authors.
