The book isn't officially available anywhere but New Zealand and Australia right now, because these are the only territories who have publishing rights. Some foreign sites, such as BookDepository.com, are purchasing books from Australia to sell internationally. That is your best bet for printed books. For ebooks, again, it's mostly NZ & AUS retailers, such as Amazon Australia, though it is also available, as you said, on Google Books and Kobo, and from Barnes & Noble in the US. This is all completely normal, but not something that Europe or America has to deal with very often. In order for a book to be more available around the world, publishers in foreign territories need to buy the rights to publish it. For example, if China wanted to publish this book in Mandarin (which they definitely won't) they would contact HardieGrant (my publisher) and pay them a bunch of money for the privilege, then go off with the manuscript, translate it, design a new cover, and about a year later it would be for sale in China. If a publisher in another English-speaking territory wants to sell it they have two options: buy and import the NZ/AUS version, and distribute that, or buy the rights to publish it in that territory, probably change the cover, possibly translate some local idioms, and then print their own version. The UK might do the former, the USA would probably do the latter because our spelling is different.

[TL;DR] In short, yes, it might one day be available outside of New Zealand and Australia, in multiple possible formats, but I have no idea when or by which method. I do know that after only 13 days since it was released is probably a bit soon, though. That said, I 100% appreciate your enthusiasm :)(less)
