Holiday Book Giveaway!

Twentymile’s release approaches (next week!), and so do the holidays!

In honor of both, I’d like to do a book giveaway of a slightly different stripe. You see, the one thing that helps me to balance out the constant syrup of the Christmas songs and the commercials featuring families buying each other $70,000 vehicles is the chance to do some real good for people who actually need it. So here is what I’m offering:

For the first ten (10) people who send me proof of a charitable donation of fifty dollars ($50.00) or more (or its exchange-rate equivalent), I will ship them a signed copy of Twentymile. HERE ARE THE RULES:

The donation needs to be from this date forward.

While there are many charitable causes serving vital needs, for purposes of this giveaway, I am asking that they be donations to: shelters, food pantries/soup kitchens, and those intended to give needy children something to celebrate for the holidays. Roofs over heads, food in bellies, toys in stockings.

Follow me on Twitter and DM me the donation, or email it to cmattsmithwrites@gmail.com.

Depending on how it goes, I MAY extend the give-away beyond 10 books, depending upon participation.

That’s it—pretty simple. Do some good, get a book. I look forward to hearing from you.

T-minus seven weeks and counting!

Friends, my debut crime novel, Twentymile, will be in the world in roughly seven weeks. November 19! The past eight months have been filled with amazing highs (hard to describe a publisher you respect reaching out to say they'd like to acquire your manuscript) and a ton of work to ensure the novel is the very best it can be. I can honestly say that, while I have no idea how well it will sell, I'm still quite in love with the book. I hope you will be, too.

Since publishing a novel is not an individual sport, I'd like to acknowledge those who have assisted me in the process of moving from manuscript to published work. I owe a massive debt of gratitude to the team at Latah Books, including Exec. Editor Jon Gosch, who saw something in my story, and Ass't Editor Kevin Breen, who helped me to make it so much better. I owe thanks as well to my marketing partners, Insight Book Promotion and Partners in Crime, who have put together a strategy that I hope will get the novel into many hands.

For those who are interested, Twentymile's virtual tour schedule can be found at: http://www.partnersincrimetours.net/t.... There will be interviews, a few guest posts written by yours truly, and a podcast. And if you're in the Atlanta, Georgia area, a live event is tentatively scheduled for December 2 at Virginia Highlands Books.

Finally, if you'd like a copy of the novel Edgar winner James A. McLaughlin calls "an accomplished novel from a talented and fully-formed writer" and bestselling author Diane Les Becquets describes as "a beautiful and brutal and extraordinary debut," Latah Books's pre-order link for the trade paperback can be found here: https://www.latahbooks.com/blank-1/tw....

Amazon's pre-order link for Kindle can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Twentymile-C-M....

Above all else, be safe, be kind to each other, and read the books that set your world on fire.
