Paityn Parque lives in Washington state, where she spends most of her time gaming and writing. She powerlifts, and when she’s not in the gym she finds time for her friends and family. At 15 years old, she published her debut YA novel, Madness, which won TCK's Reader's Choice Awards in the Science Fiction category. At 16, she published its sequel, Havoc. Now, at 18 years old, she finished Fury and completed her debut trilogy series, Engine’s Game. She wants to continue her career in writing and hopes that you’ll stick around to see her grow.

He published a few books traditionally, one about how he met my grandmother back in Vietnam when he was deployed during the Vietnam War.
I think taking after him would have made him so happy. If only he could see me now - I did it.

Fulfilling my dreams of just publishing a book is definitely one of the best things. It doesn't matter how many I sell, I just want people to enjoy what I enjoy. Writing is an outlet to me, not just a blank piece of paper that you have to fill words with. Sometimes, I view writing as a way of self-expression, rather than a novel. Authors spew their mind and hearts into books, and I think that precious perspective of people taking the time to read your masterpiece is the best thing about being a writer. You took all this time to write this novel, and now it's going to get recognized.(less)

And that's because I surprise myself and my family of how intelligent I can be at times. I'm usually dumb and funny. I have no common sense, so writing and publishing a book is very contradicting to my intellect.

But on a serious note, I've always been surrounded by reality at a young age. The harsh reality of violence, injustice, and corruption. I'm a huge gamer, and have gamed ever since I understood what a controller was. My dad and I used to play my all-time favorite game, Gears of War, together every night before he stopped playing. We used to play COD a lot, as well as BO2 zombies together. So, I was always surrounded by gory, violent video games. Maybe not at the right age, but I think it made me mature much faster and I'm glad I'm more tomboy-ish than girly...XD

I also read 24/7. And those books were always post-apocalyptic. Whether it surrounded the end of the world, zombies (my personal favorite!), or some other dangerous event, I'd be all in. The first ever book that got me hooked was the Enemy Series by Charlie Higson.

My parents expect nothing less of me if I created another book retaining elements like Madness. I'm a straightforward and brutally honest person. Though I'm young, I understand a lot of horrible concepts in this world. I wrote Madness, not only for my enjoyment, but to show readers what people are truly like. We're all sinful creatures, but what differs others from good and evil is their intentions and motives. It's frustrating to see people shunt their faces away from corruption, greed, and other sins.

I know that I'm only one person, one person's thoughts and opinions lost in a sea of others. My opinion may not go noticed, but I want to make sure that it's out there. Exploiting these sins, especially corruption and evil, will make people realize a lot of horrific truths about this world. The truth hurts, but in order to be successful you have to knock down everything and rebuild your life higher than it was before.

My answer was a bit lengthy, but I hope you enjoy reading Madness!(less)
