Yesterday, for the first time I was able to listen to the audio version of A day in the life of Russell Sprout.

It was really fun, funny to hear all the characters come to life even more so with the extremely talented narrator’s voice.

If you like audio books, maybe you should consider adding it to your library when it is published. I will add it here when I know the date.

Also, I am on the final stages of Mr Thinkalot’s Fantastic Space Journey book, the later stages of publication and I am really hoping for it to be released next week. I will keep you updated.

I look forward to hearing what other readers think of the new 2025 version. A lot of work has gone into it.

A day in the life of Russell Sprout 📗📖

I wanted to create a post that explains a little more about me, and why I decided to write a children’s nutritional book. What inspired it and why it is important to learn nutrition, especially at a younger age.

When I was younger, I absolutely detested Brussel sprouts. Seriously I thought they were awful 🤢 but my sweet mum always added a few to my plate, she would always encourage me to try them. I would avoid them to the very end but with persistence and persuasion I would always eat at least one of them to make her happy.

I never thought that the day would come that I actually love them now, in fact it’s one of my favourite vegetables. They are highly nutritious, low in calories and fat but high in fiber, protein, and essential nutrients, including vitamins A, C, K, and B6.They may offer anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, help regulate blood sugar, and support immune health and strong bones.

All this goodness from “little cabbages” as my mum used to call them 🤔❤️

So this why the main character is a brussell sprout and named Russell. The human character in the book that helps grow Russell on his plant that cares and nurtures him to grow, the human that Russell calls father. Is actually homage to my granddad 🕯️🤔❤️ My granddad was very green fingered and loved his garden and growing fruit and vegetables so the character is him effectively and who I was thinking of while illustrating him.

More things that inspired me to write the book, I have heard parents say “My kids don’t eat veg” I have even heard that some kids don’t really know what some of the more obvious ones are. I feel it’s very important no matter the age to learn about nutrition. I believe that if they learn early enough, when they become teens and older they will make healthier food choices.

I wanted to try and help the younger learn nutrition in a fun, easier and non boring way. I studied and gained qualifications on nutrition and I wanted to put that to good use in the book. Every character within the book, you will learn there good nutritional qualities.

From readers so far, they appreciate the humour that Greenhouse Elementary school setting offers and the story telling. Some have even said their fussy eaters have asked for more veggies. That was my main purpose of me writing the book, with the hopes it would encourage to eat more of them, or at least try more.

A day in the life of Russell Sprout is available now on Amazon - It would be great if readers, parents, teachers, families and children give the little hero a chance. Fall in love with Russell and eat those Brussels sprouts 🌱

Kindle version is cheaper than most snacks today, less calories more fulfilling, educational with humour, plot twists, action and adventure. It also includes a NHS 5 a day guide at the back.

I am waiting on the official release date for Mr Thinkalot’s Fantastic Space Journey 2025 edition.

As soon as I know more, I will make sure to add the information on here. All I know is that it will not be long before it is released.

I am now currently working hard on Mr Thinkalot’s Spectacular Space Journey 2025 edition, again it has been remastered, revised and re-illustrated.

With the next book, I have completely changed the book cover. Will keep you up to date and post the latest information as in when I receive it.

So I am still very busy, I am enjoying myself but just very busy and now concentrating on the second book in the series.

I have just had confirmation of the cover reveal and it is in fact going to be this week.

I am very happy and excited to reveal the new book cover for Mr Thinkalot. He is on a mission to teach Climate change and Global warming in a soft and gentle way.

It’s a book I have worked very hard on and it’s subjects that I really care about, we only have 1 planet 🌍

Mr Thinkalot’s Fantastic Space Journey 2025 new version will be published in August. Next week I will reveal the cover and I am really looking forward to sharing it with you.
