A New Milestone: Instructor Partner

Hello Dear Friends,

Despite the uncertainty that permeates any new venture or project, setting goals and putting in the work eventually meets the right opportunities. I’m excited to share that I’m officially a Udemy Instructor Partner and that I’ve crossed the 10,000 students mark.

And while I ended last year on a high note, I firmly believe that these accomplishments are only a byproduct of a willingness to add value to the people I supported through my courses.

So thank you to every student ...

Breaking Free from Coping Mechanisms

Hello dear friends,

You know, the pursuit of pleasure is ever detrimental when it's a means for relief. Being unable to sooth ourselves with what we have on the inside (our capacity for self-regulation), we turn to external tools, substances, behavioral patterns or devices to do the job.

Along the way, we fail to recognize the excuses we come up with to engage in those detrimental habits. So we develop unspoken addictions that we trivialize, until they become too problematic to go unnoticed.

Mer...

What now?

You'll never make up for lost time, but the consequences of your inaction will catch up with you later down the line.

That’s how I unknowingly guilt trip myself into working harder than I should sometimes. That’s possibly how I decided to publish a new course every other month earlier this year. And while that goal proved to be fruitful, forcing my way through my creative endeavors kept me from enjoying the process.

I discovered along the way that the sense of strain and obligation we harbor wi...

Life Balance - Work, Toxicity, and Self-Discipline

Hello Dear Friends,

Do you ever feel like you're always caught up in your daily grind? Have you ever found yourself wondering if there's more to life than constantly juggling with your responsibilities? We never really make much of it, but there are three common challenges that stand in the way of us creating a harmonious day to day:

Over-commitment at Work: Many of us find ourselves in situations where work takes up an overwhelming portion of our lives. This singular focus on our careers often ...

A Practical Outlook on Your Limiting Beliefs

Hello Dear Friends,

Our reactions to similar circumstances can differ widely from person to person. For instance, two individuals faced with the same task, like speaking in public, may experience different levels of stress. One might feel confident, while the other battles anxiety and a nagging inner critic. These internal responses often result from the beliefs - which are the deeply ingrained thinking patterns shaped by our past experiences and biased self-perceptions - we have internalized ov...

Overcoming Anxiety with Exposure Therapy

Hello Dear Friends,

You know, anxiety often arises from the gap between perceived threats or demands in a given situation, and our perceived ability to handle them. So when anxiety strikes, it's crucial to discern its root cause: is it the external demands and expectations of your environment, or is it the beliefs you hold about your abilities? In truth, both factors can contribute to anxiety:

Consider whether the demands of your circumstances are genuinely causing stress. If, for example, you h...

Imposter Syndrome: More Common than you Think

Hello Dear Friends,

You know, Imposter syndrome is estimated to affect around 70% of people at least once in their lifetime. And while that number may seem high, it’s only normal when you think about it.

In fact, when you take on a new role in your career or transition between sectors, it's natural not to have all the required skills immediately. You start as a beginner, and while that's perfectly okay, most of us will feel undeserving of the opportunity or unqualified to be in that role. In sho...

8 Signs of Toxic Workplaces

Hello Dear Friends,

If you want to preserve your mental health in the workplace, then recognizing the consequences of toxic dynamics is a crucial first step toward creating or changing for a healthier work environment. For these reasons, here are some telltale indicators of workplace toxicity:

High Turnover Rates: Toxic workplaces often experience both voluntary and involuntary turnover. Dissatisfaction due to pressure, disrespect, and low compensation drives voluntary departures. Layoffs and con...

We’re Creatures of Habit

Hello Dear Friends,

We all encounter inner resistance when attempting to adhere to a new schedule and let go of unproductive patterns. As creatures of habit, our well-established routines often pull us back, even if they aren't the most valuable because they act as psychological security blankets and help release dopamine (a pleasurable hormone).

The good news? You don't have to battle willpower forever! Research by Dr. Jan Keller from the Free University of Berlin suggests it takes around 59 to ...
