“A must read for all generations!” –Amazon reviewer.
Next up, released in March of 2026, will be Daring toDream of the Duke, book 1 in the Brides for Sworn Bachelor’s duet. Book2, still untitled, will be released in 2026, and following that will be a storythat contains a Caribbean Princess. While on vacation in the Caribbean last March,I was inspired to write a story set/or about the Caribbean Sea. While in abookstore, searching for research books, in Puerto Morelos, my 40 year-old-sonmanaged to get himself kicked out of the bookstore. You’ve heard of a bull in achina shop—our family has a Cody in a bookstore! It was quite an adventure, andsomething our family will laugh about for years to come!
Right now, I’m brainstorming the first two books in the newcontract I just signed. They will be another Victorian/Gilded Age duet of books.
Life on the home front continues to be busy with our oldestgranddaughter graduating high school this year, and our youngest granddaughtergraduating kindergarten. Another granddaughter received her driver's license, and the fourth one is looking forward to receiving her permit later this year, and our grandson is busy with both hockey and soccer. Our summer will continueto be busy with trips up north and me trying to find new ways to keep the deerfrom eating my flowers!
Thanks for stopping by and embrace each day, for each onecontains a memory!

But not for love!
In an accident that killed her parents, Lady Anita was left with a permanentleg injury, and at the mercy of her loathsome uncle. Bartering her to the Dukeof Redford is a new low, so when the duke suggests a convenient marriage, sheseizes the chance to escape.
Myles is determined his new wife won’t distract him from his ducal duties, butthe woman who arrives at his estate is not the meek bride he expects! Societymay have overlooked her, but now his spirited, determined duchess is all Mylescan see!
I’m thrilled that early readers are enjoying Myles and Anita’sstory! Here are a few snippets from Goodreads reviews:
Lauri Robinson's Captivated by His Convenient Duchess isa charming Victorian romance that is simply delightful!
Great story, loved it.
Captivated by His Convenient Duchess is the first book inThe Redford Dukedom series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it left me with asmile. It was the ultimate feel-good story.
Touched me deeply, especially with Anita doesn't feelthat she matters.
Addictive. A page turner from the first page to the last.I became rapidly engrossed in Myles and Anita's love story.
I’m so very appreciative to everyone who reads one of my books and takes the timeto share their thoughts with others.
Next up will be the second book in this duet in February. After that will be a Victorian/Western hybrid story that is currently with myeditor about a cowboy from Texas who interrupts an English Lady’s wedding inLondon. I just signed a new contract with Harlequin for three more stories. I’mso grateful that they continue to give me the opportunity to write for them!
On the home front, summer has been flying by. Our poorlittle peach tree has so many peaches growing on it that despite my bestefforts to tie up the branches, two broke off. The pear trees are full of fruittoo, but the cherry and plum trees are on an off year, so there won’t be anycherry or plum jelly in the freezer this fall.
A couple of weeks ago, I received a letter for Jury Duty. Thiswas my fourth time receiving notifications to call in weekly, but this was thefirst time my group number was selected to actually report to the courthouse. Itwas an interesting process, starting at eight am, where 38 of us were gatheredto watch an informational video, and then led to a courtroom. There, 21 nameswere called to sit in the jury box. First the judge asked questions of thegroup, and two people were excused due to personal conflicts. Next, both the defenseand prosecuting attorneys asked more questions. Then, the judge was provided alist, and 13 of us were selected to serve on the jury.
It was close to noon, so we were excused for lunch and thetrial began at 1pm. We heard from 6 witnesses that afternoon and were excused around4:30. The following morning, we heard from two witnesses, then listened toclosing arguments. The one alternate juror was excused and the rest of us weresequestered into a jury deliberation room around 12:30.
As a group, we chose a foreman, who did a fabulous job ofmaking sure everyone’s opinion was voiced concerning the two charges againstthe defendant. There were detailed conversations concerning the evidence thathad been presented, etc., and around 4pm that afternoon, we submitted ourverdict.
All in all, it was a very interesting process that I felthonored to be a part of.
I hope you all have had a wonderful summer, and remember tobe the reason someone smiles today!

The second book in this duet is about the younger brotherWesley Wadsworth who travels to the United States to promote the Redford thoroughbredrace horses, and encounters Julia Eastman, a race horse owner herself. This manuscript is currently going through theediting process.
I've just recently began working on another Victorian/Western story.
On the home front note..I’m happy to say that the five chickens who moved in withus, coop and all, when our son was selling his house last fall (and hasn’t yetbuilt a place for them at his new house) made it though the winter just fine.Besides a light and heated water tank, they’ve had heating pads in their nestingboxes to keep the eggs from freezing. I’d never had chickens before, and haveenjoyed these hens very much. On nice days, I let them out to roam the yard, and all I have to do is call Ruby (the leader of the pack) and they all comerunning when it’s time to go back into their pen/coop.
Animals of all kinds sure do touch our hearts.
Cheers!

We also lost a couple of trees in a storm, but the work of cleaning them up means the woodshed is full of wood to provide cozy winter firesin the wood stove. Winter is hanging on for us here in Minnesota. We woke up tosnow, lots of snow, over five inches has fallen so far, but that’s okay. We neededa day to relax. Two grandchildren spent the night on Friday, and we had a wonderfulfun time.
Avery, our youngest granddaughter is three and full ofherself. The other day, she asked, “Papa, do you want to play eye-spy with mylittle eye.”
He replied, “Sure.”
She said, “I spy something with my little eye that’s orange.”
He glanced around the living room and said, “I don’t seeanything orange.”
She said, “An orange pushup! They are in the freezer. I’llshow you!”
Yes, that’s one of her favorite foods.

#1 Best Seller

Thanks to a special sale from my publisher, Winning the Mail Order Bride sat at the #1 spot on Amazon’s American Historical Romance Books list for over a week. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased a copy in order to make this happen. It’s still on sale, but I don’t know for how much longer. It is always exciting to see that red best seller tag. This is one of the book in the Mail Order Brides of Oak Grove series, which will always be one of my favorite series. I enjoy writing stores set in various historical eras, but westerns will forever be my favorite.

This week is the release for my 50th book from Harlequin. The Making of His Marchioness comes out on January 24th. Each and every book has been a journey that I’ve cherished, and owe so much credit to my amazing editor. Her insight and support have been invaluable.
The blurb for this book:
She trusted him with her life…
But what about her heart?
After the American Civil War propels widow Clara and her daughter to England, they’re given refuge by the enigmatic Marquess of Clairmount. Being the damsel in distress doesn’t come easy to independent Clara, so after finding his estate in disarray, she seizes her chance to help him. As she plays the role of marchioness, her attraction to the guarded marquess is bittersweet, as this Cinderella knows she doesn’t belong in his aristocratic world…
The Making of His Marchioness is the second book in the Southern Belles in London series. The third book, Falling for his Pretend Countess will be released in April.
A Christmas story set during the Gilded Era, The Railroad Baron’s Mistletoe Bride will be released later this year, and I’m currently working on another Victorian Era story in which the hero is a cowboy from Montana.

Things have been busy here at home. The holidays were wonderful, as were the three family birthdays that are tucked in December and January. We’ve also had snow, snow, and snow. It seems as if every day has included shoveling, using the snow blower, and plowing. We’ve also been replacing windows in our house. One was defected and the new one arrived the first part of January, so yes, that’s when it was replaced. They are all in now, and the new trim and window sills are all stained.

With the snow so deep, we’ve been putting out feed for the wild critters. Our
youngest granddaughter loves seeing the birds, deer, and other critters, including the wild turkeys that found their way onto the patio.
Sending blessings for a wonderful 2023 to all of you!

Coming Soon!

The Captain’s Christmas Homecoming will be released on October 25, 2022.
Can real life compare…
To the love in their letters?
When Emma first used a pseudonym to write to Captain George Weston on the front line, it was because she felt responsible for his broken engagement. Yet his letters became a light in the darkest hours, and she shared more of her desires than she ever dared before, never imagining they’d actually meet. Now that he’s home for Christmas, she longs to see him, but that means revealing who she really is…
I always love writing Christmas story, but this one was exceptionally wonderful. Set during WW1, giving Captain George Weston a special Christmas upon his return home was very heartwarming. I also loved Emma. She has such a caring heart.
I’m also excited to say that the next two books in the Southern Belles in London series are completed. These books follow The Return of His Promised Duchess.
The Making of His Marchioness will be released on January 24, 2023
Falling for His Pretend Countess will be released on April 25.
I enjoy writing connected books and this series about three friends from the USA who moved to London during the American Civil War and married titled men kept me on my toes.
I’m excited to start the next book, which will be another Christmas story set during the gilded era in the United States.
We’ve had a busy summer on the home front with trips up north, celebrations, reunions and sporting events. Feel free to find me on Facebook for pictures and updates.
Enjoy every moment, life is so good!
Cheers!

Cover Reveal!
I’m so in love with this cover! The Return of his Promised Duchess will be released in May and was a very fun story to write.

Escape to the ballrooms of Victorian England in this emotional story.
The duke’s Southern belle…
Causing a stir in society!
Committed bachelor Andrew, Duke of Mansfield, is content to believe the lady he’s been betrothed to since childhood will never return. But when the American Civil War drives Annabelle from her life in Virginia to England, Andrew finds himself reluctantly captivated by her! Luckily, she is as unwilling to wed as he is—yet when inhibitions are lowered at a masked ball, Andrew’s intrigued to know the real Annabelle…
Many years ago, I took a trip to Georgia along with my mother and two nieces. While there, we visited several historical sites, including a plantation where the original owner had sent his two daughters to England to keep them safe when the American Civil War had broken out.
I used that as the basis of this story, and am now working on two more books that are tied to this one. The heroines of each of those books are friends of Annabelle and also make their journeys to England. Those books will be released in 2023.
I’m excited to say my WW1 book is officially done! The Captain’s Christmas Homecoming will be released in October 2022!
The other exciting thing is that SPRING is here! It is so lovely to have warmer and longer days! I’m itching to get some spring yard work completed, but we still have several large mounds of snow in our yard, so I must be patient. We have hauled out the patio furniture and put away the rest of the Christmas decorations that had been frozen in the ground. I do appreciate how Minnesota really gives us all four seasons.
Stay happy and well, and keep your spirits up!

On Sale!
The wonderful advertising department at Melange Books has put Becoming a Randal on sale for $2.99 until it’s release date of February 15!
The folks at Melange and their YA division, Fire and Ice, have been wonderful to work with through the entire process of publishing this book.

These are a couple of pictures of Hayley’s notes as we wrote.

Once the story was completed, I sent it off to a beta reader, but then, must admit, that I’d set it aside for a few months because I had other deadlines. With urging from the girls, I then looked into YA publishers, and after a discussion with Nancy at Melange, sent it off to them. We were all excited when Fire and Ice asked to contract it, and the girls were very excited when I told them that all three of our names would be listed as the authors!
Both girls helped through the editing process, and their mother, my daughter-in-law, read the story at that time. She sent a text stating that she was crying during the last couple of chapters, and my two-year-old granddaughter patted her hand, saying, “It’s okay, Mommy, here, I give you kisses.”
This has truly been an amazing journey to share with Isabelle and Hayley and we all hope that readers of all ages enjoy the story.

I love this cover so much, especially the red dress.

“This superb sequel to the first book, “Marriage or Ruin for the Heiress,” exhibits all of the problems and emotions of a couple with hidden true love. You will cry, laugh, and worry, and celebrate as you read this book.”
“I’ve reviewed several books by Lauri Robison and I don’t recall ever being disappointed. The streak continues.”

Becoming a Randal will be released in mid-February.

When fourteen-year-old Samantha West and her younger brother, Tommy, are placed in a foster home, Sam feels as if she’s been thrown into a Hallmark movie, full of perfect looking people—actors. Writing and having this story published has been such a fun journey to take with my granddaughters.
I hope you have all enjoyed the first month of 2022. It’s been cold here, the temp never got above 0 today, but it did warm up considering it was -17 when I woke up this morning. That means a fire is going in the sauna house for a thorough warm up for those who had to work outside today.
Thank you all for your support and interest in my writing.
Stay well, and kind.
