Travel Alert: It's Now Open Season on Americans Heading Abroad
The following blogs is now appearing in slightly different form at The Vincent Zandri Vox: http://vincentzandri.blogspot.com/201...
This a warning to all Americans traveling outside the domestic US. You are in danger.
In the wake of the Obama Administration's negotiations with the Taliban to free Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from his five year POW captivity, you will now have a price on your head. You will be fair game for any Al Qaeda linked or inspired group or even individual who wishes to not only fill his or her pockets with American greenbacks, but also in the process, perhaps work up an exchange for a radical Muslim terrorist now under detention at Gitmo. You know, your life in exchange for the life of a mass murderer.
I'm not about to get into the politics involved here or the timing amidst the VA scandal or the horrid foreign affairs speech Obama delivered last week to graduating West Point cadets. I'm not going to get into the fact that going forward with the release without giving Congress 30 days notice is illegal. I'm not going to comment on Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel's optimism that the prisoner exchange (five terrorists for a single POW) “...will present an opening” of further negotiations between the US and the Taliban (Huh? Since when did the Taliban go from terrorist organization to sovereign nation status?). I'm not even going to get into the fact that Bergdhal was not only drunk when he was captured by the Taliban, he had drifted far away from his post in what some fellow soldiers described as an attempt at "desertion," and that just prior to his "capture" he wrote to his parents, I'm “ashamed to even be American.”
I'm not going to get into any of that.
But what I will say is this: American's traveling abroad and especially alone, must now act with extreme vigilance, which means if it's possible to have eyes installed in the back of your head, do it. Obama's America has shown itself not only to be open to negotiations with terrorists but extremely willing to continue to do so (Short-timer Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney tried to spin his way out of using the "N" word during this morning's press briefing due to the fact that we're dealing with an American POW here and not a civilian hostage, but his argument was profoundly and disturbingly weak. A negotiation is a negotiation no matter what you label it. No wonder he's getting the hell out of Dodge).
Very likely, Obama will have his chance over the the course of his remaining two years to practice his new found craft of negotiation and what amounts to collaboration with the terrorist network (if collaboration seems too strong a word, remember, the unknown sum of money we also paid out to free the soldier isn't going to go to new hospitals and schools. It will go to the Taliban fighting machine.)
I travel abroad upwards of three to four months out of the year. Next week I'll head to India and Nepal and while terrorist activities aren't nearly as rampant in these places as say, nearby Pakistan, the opportunity exists for something bad to happen now that open season has been declared on US citizens. Not even travelers visiting seemingly safe places like Rome, Paris, and London will be immune.
Perhaps it's time the major media stopped hiding behind a cloud of political correctness and fear of being labeled racist by making Barack Hussein Obama II accountable for what will surly become some magnificently ill-fated foreign policy decisions that achieve nothing more than undermining America's international interests and its overall security. But then, what the hell, the guy we didn't "leave behind" is ashamed to be an American. I can't help but wonder how Obama truly feels about being an American.

Bergdahl Affair Begs the Question: Deserter or Double Agent?
The following blog is now appearing at The Vincent Zandri Vox: http://vincentzandri.blogspot.com/201...
Anyone who doesn't live under a rock or who doesn't limit their TV time to the House Wives of New Jersey and their radio time to the Lady Gaga channel on the Pandora, knows at least something about the Bowe Bergdahl story. You know, the "sort of POW" who was finally released from a five year captivity from Taliban captors entrenched deep in the mountains of Afghanistan. The release became controversial when his fellow platoon mates came forward and announced that Bergdahl was a deserter and should be tried for his crimes. Adding greatly to the controversy was the fact that Obama released five major league Taliban generals (or what's being termed the Taliban Dream Team) in exchange for the deserter. None of this made sense to me when I first heard the news and all I could be concerned about was this: Who on earth would negotiate with terrorists? Now, no American who travels abroad, solider and civilian alike, are safe. Terrorists will be happy to snatch you off the streets of Paris knowing that the USA will be happy to negotiate for your safe and very expensive return.
The left believes that the return of Bowe and the release of the five Gitmo prisoners was the humanitarian thing to do. The right believes that Bowe is a deserter who isn't worth the price of five dangerous Taliban members who will now, no doubt, return to the battlefield and kill more Americans.
You ask me, something isn't adding up here.
What if Bowe Bergdahl, was more than just a soldier? What if Bowe was in fact, working as a double agent? Check this article out from Beforeitsnews.com and decide for yourself.

Radical Islam's Long Planned Murder
The RemainsVincent Zandri
The following essay is now appearing at the Vincent Zandri Vox in slightly different form: http://vincentzandri.blogspot.com/201...
No one likes to be the bearer of bad news. Certainly our President doesn't like to issue bad news. In fact, he'd rather retreat from it to the golf course, or downplay the severity of an international crisis by referring to something like ISIS as the "JV team" or even in recent weeks, refusing to call them what they are: Radical Muslims.
When the embassy in Benghazi was attacked two years ago, it was President Obama and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who dismissed all evidence of an organized attack by Radical Muslims, and instead blamed the murder of several innocent American diplomats and military personnel on an anti-Islamist video that was circulating YouTube (in other words, he was blaming America). It was of course, a lie perpetrated by liars, and an absurd one at that.
Now, we have ISIS, a Radical Islamist State or Caliphate, that is not only beheading innocent men, women, and children at will, they are building up an army that is closing on 50K strong. They are also funding their operations with stolen oil reverses to the tune of $3 million per day. At present they are recruiting some of the world's most talented computer hackers in order to wage a cyber war with the west.
In the meantime, we have a major domestic problem in the form of two porous borders, both north and south. Just last week a reporter dressed in a Bin Laden costume casually walked across the southern border into the United States. Yet, the present administration is refusing to do anything about this lack of security in fear of losing their voter base come November and ultimately in 2016. Some naysayers will argue this point by saying, we have the largest police presence ever stationed on the borders, while others will say it's impossible to build walls that large. I say, declare a State of Emergency to exist on both borders, establish a formidable military presence, and in the meantime, engage in the aggressive deportation of the 11 million known illegals presently shacking up in this country while revoking the passports and student visas of questionable aliens. Yes, this will take a toll on the Democrats and their voting base, but national security shouldn't be a political issue determined by professional politicians.
When I think about this administration in years to come, I won't see the dismembered head of journalist James Foley resting on his own torso in the unforgiving desert sun. I will instead see Obama's smiling face as he went golfing only minutes after addressing reporters about the barbarous act of murder and war. A display of unimaginable disinterest if not callousness from a man who refuses to lead and who seems particularly bent on dismantling the US as a world power.
Two years remain in this Presidency and in terms of national security, they will be our most vulnerable and most dangerous since the outbreak of WWII. Here's a sampling of what we can expect:
--An attack on our homeland that will come in the form of a dirty bomb, or even a crude nuclear device.
--An all out cyber attack that will severely injure our power grid, delete bank accounts, dismantle our communications systems, and more.
--Attacks by Radical Islamists in Europe where military might has largely been depleted due to the costs of socialism and socialist programs.
--Attacks on the world's transportation systems, including trains and planes.
--Meanwhile, Russian, China, and other regimes who have already taken advantage of a weak, if not dangerously inept President, will make their moves in order to grab what they can while the taking is good.
This is not to be alarmist, but it is a reality that all of us are going to have to deal with one way or another. Like Hemingway said of the Nazis and their power grabs of the late 1930s, "A world war is certainly coming. It's like a long planned murder." And that's what is presently happening right before our eyes: a long planned murder by barbarians who dress in black, fly the black banner of Radical Islam, and who have one goal and one goal only: to administer the total destruction of the Judeo-Christian establishment, Europe, and the United States of America.

Political Correctness is Dead
The following essay is now appearing at The Vincent Zandri Vox is slightly different form: http://vincentzandri.blogspot.com/201...
Words matter.
Words are expression and they are freedom.
Words are what I do for a living.
I've waited a week to write this, because I wanted things to calm down a bit after the election. While lefty (and in some cases, righty) protesters engage in riots, and Hollywood A-listers cry in their Dom, and little weasels like Harry Reid (an evil little nothing of a man who allowed politics to get in the way of passing Kate's Law...but that's for another essay) try to compare the new president elect to Hitler, I sit back and breathe easy. Not because one candidate was chosen over another necessarily (I didn't like either of them), but because at the very least, denying Hillary Clinton the White House means political correctness is about to breathe its final breath before being dead for a very long, long time.
It always struck me as funny that one entire faction of American voters, especially younger people, saw the Republican nominee as a fascist, when in fact, the US and its constitutional freedoms have been under attack for eight years. We had a president who governed by executive action rather than work with congress. A state department that deliberately white-washed keywords like Radical Islam, Jihad, Muslim terrorists from their playbooks. And a presidential candidate who broke the law by maintaining a server in her basement. I mean, even the POTUS emailed her under a fake handle. How is it that an outsider...a non-politician...like Donald Trump was made to be the bad guy when the whole damn system is so corrupt?
Again, I don't want to endorse any one candidate over the other, but when we live in an atmosphere where a writer like me has to think twice about the language he's planning on using in a book for fear of insulting someone or some group, we are headed for fascism. And like Hemingway said before me, fascism is a lie told by bullies. There's only one type of government where a writer can't be free in the language he or she chooses, and that's fascism.
Don't believe the outgoing administration wasn't borderline fascist?
Here's how one goes about destroying a free society:
Take away one's freedom of speech...Political Correctness.
Take away one's legal right to bear arms with strict gun control measures.
Undermine the police and their authority by taking the side of the "victim" under all circumstances.
Demoralize, de-fund, and destabilize the military.
Pit race against race.
Establish a welfare state whereby people are dependent upon the government for their very existence and work is disincentivized.
I could of course go on and on, but by all means, don't say anything that might be construed as insulting or you might not only be berated and hated by the an intolerant left, you might one day be arrested in the middle of the night.
I'm not sure what the next four years will bring. But I'm happy that for the first time in a long time I can say Washington Redskins without someone giving me a dirty look. Or I can tell a woman she looks hot today without being construed as sexist. Or I can use words like Radical Islam and jihad in my writing and not be threatened with a red line.
I don't need a free space, and I don't need my deadlines to be postponed because I'm too upset over the people not having elected to put a woman who became wealthy beyond anyone's wildest dreams while working as a government servant in the White House (don't forget this is the same woman who stole a whole bunch of white house furniture during Slick Willy's tenure). A woman who openly lied about her own lies and then lied again in order to cover up the original set of lies. I only need the freedom to do what I want, say what I feel, and to put it all down on paper without fear of reprisal.
I've always run as an independent because I'm a writer and need to view both sides of the story equally. And while the current president elect might not have been my first choice (not by a long shot), the end of dangerous censorship-like political correctness is. We should cherish our freedom, not openly allow established career, on-the-take politicians to trample on them with ideological jackboots. The people of the US have spoken and a new world order is about to take hold. It won't be politically correct, that's for damn sure. But that doesn't mean as human beings we shouldn't be nice or have basic human respect for one another.
Like I said, words are powerful tools. Use them carefully and use them wisely. But use them without prejudice. Feel free to use them with abandon.
