CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for non-fiction anthology about injustice and empowerment

The day after the election, I found myself barely able to move. I was catatonic with fear, shock, heartbreak, hopelessness. This project was born in the place just outside those shadows, when I gathered my strength and became determined to channel those feelings into action and hope.

I believe in the power of narrative. I believe the personal is profoundly political. I believe in our stories.

Do you write? Do you want to do something to resist hate and ignorance? Do you want to offer hope and solidarity to young readers?

(And do you want to get published and paid for your work?)

This New Year, let’s all make the resolution to be the change we are looking for.

I can’t wait to read your story.

Love and solidarity,

Amy

My new book UNFORGIVABLE is out TODAY!

Hello! I am so excited to share the news that my new book, UNFORGIVABLE, releases today! It is the sequel to INVINCIBLE (which also releases today in paperback), and starts right where the first book left us at a very nasty cliffhanger. You’ll find out what happens to Evie and Marcus, and this time it will be from Marcus’s point of view.

Unforgivable Book Cover

UNFORGIVABLE is my seventh book, and it’s my first written entirely from a boy’s perspective. It tells the story of Marcus as he tries to sort through the wreckage of his relationship with Evie, and as he finally faces the ghosts from his own past that he’s tried so desperately to outrun. It’s dramatic, romantic, and at times very dark, but with enough hope and transformation to make it all worth it. I promise!

Here’s a little more about UNFORGIVABLE and INVINCIBLE if you’re interested.

For my Asheville, NC area friends, I am part of an awesome author panel at Malaprop’s Bookstore next Wednesday, May 11, at 7:00 pm, with my pals Robin Constantine and Amber Smith. I hope to see you there! (Click HERE for info about my upcoming events in Athens, GA and Charlotte, NC.)

And in case you’re wondering, here’s a great article about things you can do to support your favorite authors.

Thank you so much for your support, and I hope you love reading UNFORGIVABLE as much as I loved writing it!

xoxo

Amy

My new book INVINCIBLE is out TODAY!

Invincible_tagline_final.indd

Hello from beautiful Asheville, North Carolina!

As some of you know, my family recently moved from Oakland, California to the mountains of western North Carolina. After three long months on the road with a toddler and a yappy dog, we finally came the end of our epic road trip, and we’ve spent the last nine months making this funky town our new home.

But that’s old news. What I’m thrilled to tell you about it the release of my new book INVINCIBLE:

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS meets GO ASK ALICE in this dramatic romance about a teenage girl who survives a terminal cancer diagnosis, only to get trapped in the deadly spiral of addiction.

INVINCIBLE is on sale TODAY at your favorite local bookstore and these wonderful places:

Malaprop’s (my awesome local bookstore in Asheville, AND they can send you a signed copy of any of my books!)
Harper Collins
Amazon
Barnes & Noble
Books-a-million

An audiobook is also available! Check out the retailers above, or Audible.com.

Here’s a bit more about INVINCIBLE:

Live hard. Love hard. Don’t look back.

Evie is living on borrowed time. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer several months ago and told that by now she’d be dead. Evie is grateful for every extra day she gets, but she knows that soon this disease will kill her. Until, miraculously, she may have a second chance to live.

All Evie had wanted was her life back, but now that she has it, she feels like there’s no place for her in it—at least, not for the girl she is now. Her friends and her parents still see her as Cancer Girl, and her boyfriend’s constant, doting attention is suddenly nothing short of suffocating.

Then Evie meets Marcus. She knows that he’s trouble, but she can’t help falling for him. Being near him makes her feel truly, fully alive. It’s better than a drug. His kiss makes her feel invincible—but she may be at the beginning of the biggest free fall of her life.

I am honored to share this book with you, and I hope you are as moved by reading Evie’s story as I was writing it.

If your local bookstore doesn’t have INVINCIBLE, please request that they order it! Here are some other things you can do to help your favorite authors:

Buy our books on, or as close to, the release date as possible
Request that your local library carry our books
Share news about our books on social media like Facebook and Twitter
Leave positive reviews on Amazon and Goodreads
Share the news by good old fashioned word of mouth

I would be grateful if you’d do any of these things to help spread the word about INVINCIBLE. It is a great joy to write books for y’all. Thank you so much for your support.

Hugs,

Amy
