Born in Fort Worth and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Karen Bogen is one of the proverbial Native Texans. She began writing at the tender age of seven. Even then, she'd already chosen writing as a career; she just didn't know it yet. It took over four years for her subconscious to convince her.

Between bouts of "writing fever," Karen found time to earn a degree in Computer Science Engineering and raise a family. She currently lives in the Fort Worth-Arlington area with her husband, David; two sons, Jody and Sean; three cats; a rabbit; and an odd number of houseplants.

Fortunately, most of the things that block my writing are physical: laundry, dishes, floors, etc. It still impedes the writing process, but there is a lot less whimpering. (less)

It’s Been a While

A lot has happened in the past few years. Covid descended. I lost my eldest son in a house fire. I’ve lost numerous friends to various cancers, a hip replacement gone wrong, and even old age (go figure). I lost all three of my cats and have a new crop to help keep me from going crazy.
