Stolen Life Published!

Hello! The newest Scary Mary book is out now! I hope you enjoy it!

Book 7 in the Scary Mary Series
Stolen Life is now available!

Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Google Play / iTunes / Kobo / Smashwords

A few months ago, Mary didn't know she had any living relatives until Jake contacted her. He may live a few states away, but distance means nothing to him. He can go wherever he wants with his mind's eye, except one place. It's a place of death and shadows, and their relative Tracy Rathbone has been trapped there for nineteen years. Jake needs Mary's help to bring her home.

Mary wants to help, but she's cautious. Tracy is in the land of Shadowmen, the terrifying creatures that slip through cracks and take a person's life force. Mary has only ever gone up against one Shadowman at a time and each time she has only barely won. Going up against an army of them would be impossible.

She doesn't need to worry about the Shadowmen though. Tracy has a plan. She just needs Jake to bring Mary to her. She'll take care of the rest. Mary really should've asked more questions about the plan. Because it isn't so much an escape plan as a trade, and Mary's the one being traded.

Abandoned, alone, and scared, Mary must figure out how to get home and take back her stolen life.

Look a Book!

Hey, everyone!

I'm sorry for not having a new book out sooner. The Girlfriend Shield is the follow-up to My Demon. The whole Noble family is back for another wacky adventure.

Here's the back blurb:

Sarah thought dealing with a secret romance was tough. Now she has to deal with a fake romance, too.

Sarah just wants to pass her exams, but all studying screeches to a halt when she finds out that she’s in a secret relationship with Noah Nash. It’s so secret that she doesn’t know anything about it. She marches to his dorm, ready to bite his head off for doctoring photos of them together, but before she can yell at him, he blackmails her into pretending to be his girlfriend.

Damien, Angela, and her parents know that she’s not in a real relationship with Noah, but they don’t know about the blackmail and she wants to keep it that way. She pretends that she wants to be in the fake relationship, even though Noah’s touch makes her skin crawl and he insists on kissing her far too often. She has to figure out a way to end the relationship without Noah revealing to the world the secret he knows.

Mr. Conjure Out Now!

It's finally HERE! Book 6 in The Scary Mary Series is available now!

Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Google Play / iTunes / Kobo / Smashwords

“I’ve never heard of Mr. Conjure,” Mary said.

“He creeps through the shadows wearing a raggedy top hat and a long black coat. His claws are stained a bright red from all the blood he’s spilled. If he gets you, there’s no escape.”

“Why’s he called Mr. Conjure?” Mary asked.

“What do you mean?”

“Why isn’t he called Top Hat or Mr. Red Hands?”

Eddie frowned. “Because he’s called Mr. Conjure.”

“But what does he conjure?” Mary asked.

“He doesn’t. You conjure him.”

“But why would anyone want to?”

“Because people are sometimes stupid,” Rachel said.

Jenny was a little stupid, at least that’s what Mary thought. Why else would the teen go to an abandoned house by herself and play a game to summon a monster called Mr. Conjure? Mary doesn’t believe he exists, but Jenny insists he’d real and he’s out to get her. She’s so afraid of what he’ll do to her, she attempts suicide.

Rachel wants to help Jenny and needs Mary to do it. Mary thinks Jenny needs a shrink, not her. Mary is sure Mr. Conjure isn’t real. But something is lurking in the dark and if it can’t get Jenny, it’ll take Mary instead.

Scamming Death is HERE!

It's finally HEEEERRRREEE! After far too long a wait, Scamming Death has finally arrived. Mary's back with a whole new adventure. I hope everyone enjoys this new book.

Here's the blurb:

Gran is the most important person in Mary’s life. Mary would do anything for her. So when Eddie, a freshman at her school, asks Mary for help with his grandma, she can’t say no.

But what he wants is an exorcism.

Mary goes to meet his grandma with misgivings. She’s not sure how she’ll break the truth to Eddie. Elderly people can change. They can stop recognizing their loved ones. They can act like completely different people. Alzheimer’s can do that. Dementia can do that. But a ghost can do that as well.

Eddie’s grandma is possessed. But the ghost swears that she’s protecting the elderly woman because there’s something scarier than ghosts at the nursing home. An angel of death stalks the building.

With Eddie and her friends, Mary must find the angel of death and stop them, but how do you stop an angel? Mary will have to figure that out before the angel strikes again.

I say this in the author note at the end of the book, but I'll repeat it here: I hope to be more consistent with my publishing schedule from now on. I want to publish two books a year. I plan to release the next Scary Mary book in May 2017. I'm announcing that now so I can't let myself slide. 2016 has been a bad year for me as a writer. I couldn't get my act together. I could give you a list of reasons why, but in the end, it was just procrastination. I let myself just veg far too much, but I am back in the game now. I'm very excited by a number projects and I hope to share them with you all soon. Thank you for hanging in there. I hope you fine Scamming Death was worth the wait.

Waynesboro Author Fest!

I will be an author at this event! I'll be giving out magnets, pins, and bookmarks for Scary Mary! I've only done one other public event ever, so this sort of thing is still pretty new and intimidating to me, but I know several other authors attending this so I'm also pretty excited to take part. :-) I want to thank the Waynesboro Public Library System for putting on the event. I'll have a table or half a table, not sure which, but I'll have all my swag and books available.

My Demon Volume 2 Published!

Quizzes, guards, homework, fights, basketball, switched pills, galas, kisses, assassins, secrets, lies. All part of the Noble Academy experience.

Sarah knew going to Noble Academy would be tough, but she didn’t expect it to be perilous. Still recovering for the attempt on her life, she tries to get back to normal, but at Noble, there is no normal. Between catching up with classes, she has to contend with Damien’s hot/cold mood swings. One moment he’s her best friend; the next, he’s completely ignoring her. He’s the most difficult boyfriend in the world, but he isn’t Sarah’s boyfriend. So why’s she stuck with all of the difficulties?

And it doesn’t help that Noah Nash has entered the mix. If she thought she had trouble with the richest boy in school, that’s nothing compared to the second richest. She knows Damien likes her. She’s not sure if Noah cares about her at all, as in if she were drowning, would he bother to throw her a rope? Actually, she suspects he’d be the one to push her into the water.

So what’s the poorest girl at a rich academy supposed to do with the two richest boys? Sarah’s not sure, but she’s open to suggestions. Well, she wants to punch Noah, but security wouldn’t like that. She’s not sure what to do about Damien. Maybe she’ll fix him pancakes.

Available at:

Amazon
iTunes
Kobo
Google Play

Coming Soon:

Barnes & Noble

I have to say that it's a relief to get this out now. I feel like I'm slowly getting back on track. I plan to release Volume 3 on April 15 of this year.

For now, I'm going to put My Demon away for a month or two and focus on the new Scary Mary book. I have a rough draft written and it is in need to serious edits. I don't know how long this process will take, but I'm hopeful I'll get everything done in a handful of months.

Looking Ahead

It’s New Year’s Day 2016 and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

I want to keep this year simple. I want to foster what I have and get stuff done. So with that in mind here are my resolutions.

1. Write more. – I’ve tried in the past to quantify writing goals but have decided that only stymies me. I shouldn’t feel pressured to do what I love. So I’m just going to tell myself to write more.

2. Read more. – It is rather appalling how little I read in 2015. I want to read more this year. Again, no numbers, just a simple resolve to do it.

3. Exercise more – This one will unfortunately be quantified by my health insurance provider, but since they are also providing a Fit Bit, I’m not going to expend too much brain power on it, and also, I purchased a treadmill about a month ago that I’m finding very conducive to this simple goal. I can even read while using it.

4. Social Media more. – What does that mean? It means not letting my blog, Twitter, and Facebook go fallow for long stretches of time.

5. Promote more. – I need to spread the word a bit more. Hiding under a rock does not appear to sell books. That’s a shame. I rather like my rock.

And that’s it. I’m cutting it off at five because as I wrote at the start, I want to keep things simple. And if I make any further resolutions, I'll just pull myself in too many directions and fail all of them. Better to get five done than to fail at ten.

Do you have any resolutions? What are you looking forward to?
