That One Pet

I’m not sure how many of you saw A Dog’s Purpose (beautiful movie), but I know it’s left me wondering whether, one day, my precious Hobbes (tabby cat) will find her way back to me in another form.  I love Angus, don’t get me wrong, but there was just something special about Hobbes. She was my 25th birthday present and she had the sweetest disposition. And boy, could that cat purr.

Have you had a particular pet along the way you’d love to have a second go-round with?

Too Good To End

Today at the gym, I expect I will be finishing up Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. I’ve enjoyed all of her books very much, but this may be one of my favorites. I’ll actually be bummed when it’s over. Have you ever felt that way about a book?

Now, I have to figure out what to read next. I’m thinking a good suspense novel…

What are you reading this week?

Three Things (Still Here…For Now)

Yup, still here. But we’re down to just days on that…

As for my three things for the weekend, here we go…

On Friday, DH and I played some backgammon and watched Survivor (we missed it on Wednesday).

Saturday, we walked around the mall (wanted to walk, but, alas still too cold outside) and watched Revenge of the Nerds. I’d never seen it before (I know…I know…) and, yup, I slept through some of it…

Sunday was some writing time (which, actually happened all the other days, too) and we saw Chap...

An Array of Bits

I’m rolling out some super fun (at least I hope so) bit today…

When you pull into a parking lot, is it your preference to turn left into a spot or right? Favorite CD? Worst movie you’ve ever seen? If you could watch any movie right now, what would you pick? Do you have any Easter candy left? First record album (I’m thinking it would be a CD for you, Elizabeth the C.S.) you ever bought with your own money?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Listening, Not Reading

If you didn’t read yesterday’s post, please do. And Bob and Andrea, please read the comments.

Now, to today’s post.  I just read something that said nearly one in five Americans now listen to books on audio.  That surprised me. So my question to you is, do you listen to audio books? If so, when/where?  If not, why?

The Time is Near

Where do I begin…

Well, I guess I’ll start with the fact that I’ve been dreading this post for a while. I’ve been blogging here, daily (with the exception of vacation/holidays/tragedy), since March 2009.  Nine years. That’s a long time. I’ve come to feel as if I know you all on a different level than just “internet friends.”

I know Kay looks after her folks, adores her fur baby, Tyler, and devotes a lot of her time to reading/reviewing (therefore helping) cozy mystery writers. I know she pref...

This Week’s Book

wedding nightI finished Laura Lippman’s Sunburn last week and started on the last of the Sophie Kinsella books that had somehow managed to slip through the cracks.

It’s called Wedding Night and so far, so good (I’ve really had a blast reading her books as they’re very light and fun).

What are you reading?

Three Things–Easter Weekend

I woke up to snow this morning (no, not kidding). Probably about 4 inches out there already. Should melt fast though once it stops.

I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend! Ours was very quiet on account of DD # 1 still being on her apprenticeship down south (she’s worked every holiday since she’s been there), and DS being in Paris. Still, we had a nice time. My three things…

DD # 2 came home from college and had never seen Back to the Future. So we settled in with some treats and blankets...

Caption This

Back home after a fabulous trip to Lancaster. I learned so so many cool things, I’m still kind of giddy.

Anyway, since it’s supposed to be “Writing Thursday” around these parts, I thought it might be fun to share a picture from my trip (I kinda fell in love with this little one who was very curious about me and my camera) and ask you all to take a stab at captioning it.  Funny, serious, whatever… Just have fun with it!
