Something for Nothing

Everybody loves free stuff, right? Doesn’t matter what it is, once we hear the word “free” we’re there, as a race, sniffing around it.

That’s why a free Kindle promotion is always a good thing.

BLOODLINES: Now available at Amazon

A war has raged for the better part of six hundred years: werewolves, vampires and hybrids, locked in brutal conflict within the darkness of the mortal world. A covert mission to Normandy’s beaches; a secret agenda during the Russian Revolution; a callous hunt through the Parisian streets.

Three immortal races . . . three bloodlines . . . three stories of hatred, bloodlust, and betrayal.

An addendum to the novel Blood War and containing a Foreword by former Graveside Tales Chief Editor Myrrym Davies, Bloodlines is a bold step into the horrific, bloodthirsty world of supernatural immortals.

Do you believe in monsters?

Editing Service Available -- Free

Have you just completed a short story or a novella? Do you require an Editor?

Then I could help.

For a limited trial period, I will be accepting manuscripts for critique and review, and right now this will be done free of charge. It is likely this status will change after the New Year.

Focus areas will be grammar, spelling, and formatting, but I may also provide revisions and advice where I deem necessary. As this will be non-profit in the beginning I cannot provide a concrete expected completion date, but I can promise any manuscripts will be returned within an acceptable time-frame. Any manuscripts must be sent as .doc files and it is preferable if you are familiar with the ‘Track Changes’ function of Word.

I am open to most genres: horror, suspense, thrillers, mystery, crime, erotica . . .

If you have a short story of up to 10,000 words in length, or a novella of any length less than 30,000 words, and you wish to have a free critique/review by a published author, then please feel free to send your manuscript (saved in Microsoft Word format) to djmorgan100969@gmail.com.

If you have a novel-length manuscript that needs editing, I would be willing to look at the first 30,000 words of the project. DO NOT send full novel manuscripts or works over 30,000 words. For now, I will not be focusing on novel-length manuscripts.

Any edits and/or comments/revisions that I make are merely my own opinion and are in no way critical of you or your work.

About Me:
Three of my novels are available in print and eBook formats, and I have been published in more than a dozen magazines and online venues over the past few years.

Many thanks,

Dylan J. Morgan.

HUGE COJONES

I’m man enough to admit that the sight of sky divers jumping out of airplanes, with nothing more than a sliver of cloth strapped to their back, scares me. It makes my bollocks shrivel to the size of a pea and retract into my abdomen.

You can imagine, then, what happened to my privates as I watched Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner step out onto the thin platform of a small balloon, give a salute, and then plunge 36 kilometers towards the Earth’s surface.

OCTOBER RAIN -- Newly Re-Released

OCTOBER RAIN -- 2012 re-release!

My novella October Rain has officially been re-released by Hazardous Press.

"October Rain starts with a very vivid scene of blood and destruction and ends in such a twist of events that leaves the reader wanting more."
Nanci Arvizu – Page Readers Webcast.

October Rain by Dylan J. Morgan

Mankind teeters on the brink of extinction in a solar system choking under the glare of a dying sun. An assassin for the Martian Interstellar Correction Agency, Steele has one more assignment to complete before a big payoff and the chance of a new life: a job that will reveal the true horrors of mankind’s futile existence and threaten the very people who make his life worth living.

"Morgan wastes no time getting to the excitement, pulling us through scenes with a sense of danger and excitement."
John “JAM” Arthur Miller – Liquid Imagination.

"It's rare when the final page of a story actually makes me say "Wow," but Dylan J Morgan's October Rain did just that."
Christopher Nadeau.

Available NOW on Amazon Kindle:

Hosts -- New Release on Kindle!

Hosts, my debut novel from 2008, is finally available on Amazon Kindle at a permanently reduced price.

On a Canadian mountainside above the ski resort of Snow Peak, archaeologists have made a fantastic discovery: a First Nation family frozen in ice, superbly preserved. The man is exhumed for examination, but what resides within his mummified body is something science has never seen before.

The experts called in to control the situation have their own ulterior motives, and Sheriff Richard Wade and Doctor Lauren Kemper are about to be the only lifeline for a town plunged into a nightmare.

Snow Peak is isolated, cut-off by the worse snowstorm in living memory. Hampered by the elements and the greed of outside influence, Sheriff Wade and Doctor Kemper are forced to face a new species, mutated, hungry and deadly, in a race against time to save their town.

HOSTS by Dylan J. Morgan

“ruthless . . . unequivocally gruesome . . . subtly gross”
Choate Road.

“detailed characters . . . descriptive prose . . . a thrilling read”
Shaun Jeffrey; author of The Kult and Deadfall.

The novel can be purchased at Amazon.co.uk for the low price of just £0.77.

It can also be purchased on Amazon.com for $0.99.

For more information on all my titles available at Amazon check out my author page at www.amazon.com/author/dylanjmorgan.

OCTOBER RAIN to be Re-Released by Hazardous Press

Time for a quick update.

This hasn't been advertised anywhere else as yet, but my novella October Rain has been accepted for publication by Hazardous Press as a reprint e-book. I have no further deatils of when it'll be available but will update this thread as soon as I know.

The novella was originally published in 2009 by Sonar4 Publications, and thereafter by me over on Smashwords, and so this will be a third lease of life for one of my most favorite creations.

E-Readers -- Which ones?

There's a ton of books I'd like to read, and a ton of books I should be reading. Yet carrying around a load of dog-eared paperbacks, although the most ideal way to read, is not always the most practical. I'm thinking of getting an e-reader, yet I have no clue as to what are the best.

Primarily I want to read books (rather than surf the web or watch movies) so a bog-standard Kindle might be the best option -- but I'd have to be committed to Amazon, then.

Anybody, feel free to comment below and give your opinion as to what is the best e-reader to have, for someone who doesn't have enough hands or suitcase space to carry around all those books . . .
