Greetings!
Having just set up the blog, I thought I should get a first post out there for good measure.
Hoping the header intrigued you to consider that the fear of public speaking IS conquerable. Most of us who fear it are caught in a cycle of:
1) I haven't tried to learn how to improve
2) I was forced to speak
3) That didn't go well!
4) See, I'm not good at this and don't want to do it again.
5) Return to step 1 the next time this comes up and handle the issue by avoidance.
Sound familiar? Instead we can try:
1) I'm learning what to do to be better.
2) I have to speak.
3) Hey, that DID go better and people said so.
4) It feels good to have made progress and see myself improving.
5) I wonder how else I could apply Milo's principles to turn my nervousness more into excitement .
6) Return to step 1 with enthusiasm.
Even for people who aren't afraid but just want to get better, the steps are the same.
I hope you'll check out "Public Speaking: Get A's, Not Zzzzzz's!" for yourself.
Likewise, the requested sequel, "Public Speaking for TEENS: Get A's, Not Zzzzzz's!" is an amazing leg-up for the 13-19 year old in your life who has the potential to be seen as a leader when s/he speaks.
Best of luck and contact me with questions or if Skype coaching is something you'd like to consider.

As a public speaking coach since 2004, I've worked with hundreds to move past the fear of speaking through steps to being more "Prepared, Polished, and Powerful". Learn from my two books, "Public Speaking: Get A's, Not Zzzzzz's!" and its Young Adult sequel "Public Speaking for TEENS: Get A's, Not Zzzzzz's!".
My speeches draw from stories in my third book, "The Worst Days Make The BEST Stories!" True life tales with a lesson in each. I've been told it's what "Chicken Soup for the Soul" might have sounded like if Jerry Seinfeld had written it. Laughs, aha's, and even a few lumps in the throat in this one.
