She flashes her tongue, wiggles her butt, says she don't need nothing from no one and can do what ever she wants. It's a mantra of every teen through the ages, a plea for freedom and self realisation. While she gets widely condemned for expressing herself perhaps the root of it all lies deeper. In this day and age of control and cyber watching, of instilling fear and encouraging separatism, of fuelling the fires of past differences instead of celebrating the things of today which make us the same. In this world where even our water and food crops are becoming more and more controlled and the human race is pushed more and more into economic subjugation - perhaps Miley is a voice of reason, perhaps we should all be saying get off our backs and let us be free. Let's be free to love, to live, to dance with Miley. Sex is the wrong tool agreed, but its the one everyone pays attention to. Miley may not be a teen anymore, but not only teens want to be free!

Is it possible to lead a balanced life and what is a balanced life? A friend recently mentioned to me that it is impossible to have a balanced life at any given moment. The reason being when you are striving towards something, to attain success in something you need to be focused on it. That means more of you is focused on that than on anything else which means you are not balanced at that given moment. It's give and take. In that moment in order to attain one thing you will need to sacrifice another. One needs to accept this in order to have the focus on the goal you wish to achieve. Deon Potgieter
