John Raptor's Blog: Author John Raptor

August 18, 2025

Trigger Warning is FREE August 18 - 22!

"F***ed up, but in a brilliant way. John Raptor is hardcore rural horror, not for the beginner or the squeamish, but very creative and emotionally affecting nonetheless. For people into the dark stuff, but with a hell of a lot of talent and heart, he's your man." -- Amazon review

John Raptor (author of the controversial and provocative Hell High) presents: TRIGGER WARNING.

Four sinners—a cop, two strippers, and a white supremacist—trapped in the bowels of a labyrinth known as Hell House. Their tormentors: clowns and men/women in animal masks. If the sinners think the torture chamber is terrifying, wait until they meet Gramma Wilkins—a religious fanatic who believes very strongly in Old Testament-style punishment.

Hell High is FREE on Kindle from June 9 - 13

Hell High

Raw. Shocking. Provocative.

Read the controversial novel about the dark underbelly of high school.

WARNING: Not for the squeamish or light of heart. Contains material that may offend.

Hell, North Dakota.

Here, teenagers lose their innocence in a cesspit of recreational and psychiatric drugs, pseudo-macho ideals, and incessant verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. After a cruel prank causes a girl to commit suicide, her fellow students must face their inner darkness. And none of them may survive prom night...

Amazon readers say:

Gloriously Different From Anything Else You Have Ever Read
“Take every person you knew in high school and take their bad character traits to the extreme and you will have the characters of Hell High….Personally, I could not put this book down. I finished it in two days in between classes and homework and do not regret it at all.”

Two Stars
"[Raptor] takes the absolute worst of humans, turns it into a train wreck...and yet, I Couldn't. Stop. Reading."

THE CONTROVERSY

Art That Should Not Have Been Made
"The author seems dead. To live and breathe hate. It's actually striking, the depth of blackness this guy goes to. In my mind, there's no redeeming value. It's art that shouldn't have been made."

Speechless
"The author derived the most sadistic, deranged, disturbed teenagers and put them altogether in the same high school . . . It's hard to believe Satan's hell is as demented as Hell High . . . I don't know how I got through it..albeit, my morbid curiosity."

Please... and Veritas are now available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited

Please...: Extreme Horror

NO CATS ARE HARMED IN THIS BOOK, ONLY HUMANS.

NOT FOR THE EASILY OFFENDED!

PLEASE…

The last word to ever leave their lips is “please.”

Don’t kill me, please.

Oh god oh god please please. I’ll do anything you want. Please!

I appreciate their manners. Mama never gave me anything unless I said “please.”

A man in a latex dog mask is kidnapping girls that resemble his mother and turning them into cats. How? By cutting off their toes and fingers so that they have little “pawsies,” using a hot glue gun to paste fur all over their bodies, and inserting long wires with barbs into their cheeks for whiskers. In doing this, the killer relives a traumatic past with his cat-lady mother over and over and over again. But is someone using the dog-man and his mental illness for an even more insidious purpose?

Veritas: A Paranormal Thriller

Trigger warning: SA, blood, gore, child abuse, homophobia.

Special Agent Pilar LaPorte goes to Mandan, North Dakota to investigate the Mark of the Beast Murders: two victims—one burned alive, the other with his face slashed open—both marked with 666. Teaming up with her is Father Adam Harris, a local priest who is part of a group called Veritas (Latin for "truth"), which investigates miracles, stigmata, and demon possession. Pilar suspects a local Mormon Bishop is responsible for the murders, but Adam believes it may be something more powerful: a demon, or possibly, God.

COVID. JAPAN. GANGNAM.

During the pandemic, I disappeared from the internet and pulled all my books from Amazon, because I didn’t feel like they were written well enough (and honestly, I’m ashamed at how bad some of them are). Then in 2021, I went to Uganda to help build a clinic for Sudanese refugees. Unfortunately, I’m a writer, not a brick-layer, so I wasn’t much help, and as if I couldn’t be any more of a useless muzungu (white person) in a foreign land, I then contracted the dreaded COVID and had to quarantine for a week. Now I find myself in Japan, teaching English to kindergarten kids. The summers here are brutal and our school has no A/C. The kids cry: “Atsui! Atsui!” (HOT HOT!) as I dance around in a suit and tie and point at flashcards, saying, “This is an apple!” Sweat dripping into my eyes and down my neck, brain cooking inside my cranium. It’s not ideal, but the kids are mostly great. Even that kid who pissed his pants in the middle of the classroom.

During my days off I’ve been rewriting my back catalogue, slowly, but surely.

My new book GANGNAM is out right now for pre-order. Check it out here:

https://www.amazon.com/Gangnam-John-R...

I hope you all are doing well and survived the pandemic.

Cheers!

Or as we say in Japan, 乾杯!(Kanpai!)
