Dollar Novels
So I actually like to read, if you believe that sort of thing. While I'd be the first to admit that having done a little writing has changed my tastes in literature somewhat, I still like to read.
As such, I'm starting up a small project, more or less an indie review site, but specifically intended to suss out the highest quality in the cheapest literature.
Dollar Novels, located at dollarnovels.blogspot.com, will feature detailed and comprehensive reviews of .99 cent or $1 ebooks. The first actual review is forthcoming, as I'm currently reading the book.

Too many good reviews?
Looking over the reviews I've done, I can't help but wonder if I'm being too nice. I mean, I'm usually not much of a fanboy, and I try not to gush unless I'm really super into the story...
I suppose I'm half-stuck in the video game review mindset, the illustrious 7-10 scale where anything below is just the most awful trash.
Or, more likely, I just don't read very many books that I don't enjoy. After all, three stars still qualifies as "Liked It."
Eh, it doesn't really matter, I suppose.

A Welcome and Thanks
Big huge gratitude to the folks over at My Love Affair with Books for allowing me to provide a guest post to their blog. Since of their links lead back to the Goodreads page, I thought I'd post a little message here.
A friendly welcome to any brave souls who decided to follow the links and check out my material. Personally, I'd recommend checking out A Fickle Fate and The Legend of Ivan; both are fairly new and have not yet been heavily reviewed, but their quality outstrips Haven by heavy margins both in concrete story and the writing aspects.
Now, Haven is also cheaper, and if you'd prefer to have just a taste without much cost, I'd still recommend it. I'm intensely proud of all of my work, and most of the complaints and negative issues regarding Haven have been resolved in updated versions. In essence, Haven is simply a younger novel written with less experience, where the others were created after I'd learned a few things. Still, many issues have been fixed, so by all means, give it a shot if you like.
In either case and whether or not you decide to give my stuff a shot, thanks for swinging by and keep up the reading.

New Version of Haven is up
At least so far on Amazon and Smashwords; as always it will probably take a while before the updated copies filter out to B&N, Kobo, and the other places.
Make sure to grab it, as many of the issues found within have been fixed.
One more time: how do you tell if you have the right one? The chapter numbers and names are center justified. The scene breaks are still on the left, perhaps to be changed when (a year from now) I decide Haven needs one more clean-up.

Next novel!
The Legend of Ivan
------
He is the destroyer of worlds and the frightener of children. He started wars and slaughtered millions. He's a man, an alien, a robot, and God himself. His legendary physique cripples feminine inhibitions, and his strength can move mountains. He is a gladiator, a scientist, a warrior, a poet, a lover, and a master spy. He saved a flailing transport filled with nuns and sent it spiraling into a sun. He swam in vacuum without protection. He punched a dinosaur.
He is Ivan.
In a galaxy where technology has outpaced structure and reason, the name of Ivan is known far and wide. Thousands of stories ranging across the realm of absurdity flit about in every corner, and no one quite knows if Ivan even exists.
Sid, a half-machine, human recorder known as an Archivist, travels throughout the galaxy in search of the truth behind Ivan's great myth. He gathers and interprets information, discarding the outlandish and seeking the tiny kernels of reality in each tale. As pieces of the legend fall into place, narrow escapes and near-deaths threaten an end to the Archivist's hunt. Unyielding, he is drawn ever deeper into the convoluted pool of madness behind Ivan's legend, and questions grow ever more alarming: What exactly did Ivan do to become so famous, and why is Sid not the only one looking for him?
------
Still working on the blurb for it. A little tweaking here and there until I have it about right.

Sequels and such
Haven's sequel has a tentative release window of early June of this year. In anticipation of starting to work on the novel, I'm currently involved in a full re-edit of the first novel.
Keep an eye out for the newer version, which should again be much cleaner than the one you're currently holding.
How will you know if you have the correct one? The chapter breaks (though not scene breaks) are now centered on the page as opposed to on the left. If that's what you've got going on, then you'll have the latest version. However, it's not released as of yet, so be patient and check back in a few days.
