Lisa McCubbin Hill is a #1 New York Times bestselling author. While writing her first book The Kennedy Detail in 2009, she interviewed the legendary Secret Service Agent Clint Hill. Assigned to protect Jacqueline Kennedy, Hill was honored for his bravery and swift actions during the assassination of JFK.

Lisa and Clint collaborated on three subsequent NY Times bestselling books about Hill's fascinating career serving five presidents, including the 2012 #1 bestseller, Mrs. Kennedy and Me and Five Presidents.

Very difficult to answer with one favorite person because I've met so many interesting people--Caroline Kennedy, Lynda Johnson Robb, former and present White House correspondents, as well as many former and current Secret Service agents, including the past three Directors. I'd have to say, however, that one of my favorite experiences was spending an afternoon with Providencia "Provi" Paredes. Provi was Mrs. Kennedy's personal assistant and boy is she a firecracker. She has some wonderful stories, but she is just as discreet as Clint Hill, and there are many memories she will take to her grave. I admire her loyalty and dedication to the Kennedy family.(less)

I love the fact that I can work all day in my pajamas if I want; I love the people I meet through my research travels and during publicity tours; I love the creativity of starting with a blank page and turning it into a compelling story by finding the perfect words to describe a scene or evoke the emotions I want the reader to feel; I love being able to share a story that has never been told before. I see three phases to writing and I truly enjoy all three - the research; the writing; and the promotion. I'm lucky to be able to earn a living doing what I love.(less)

Clint Hill
“it's been a long time since i've thought about that night, that wonderful raucous night. I can still see the president s surprise and amusement while opening gifts. I can still hear the music, the guests singing along and the president having such a wonderful time surrounded by his closest family and friends. What a privilege it was to have been there, to witness the joy and laughter. But Always, when I remember that special birthday celebration on the Sequoia, I can't help but think it should not have been his last. At forty six it shouldn't have been his last”
