Hi! I write books for middle school kids, teens, and picture books for toddlers. Coming in 2026: a middle grade novel called MONSTER DOWN DEEP and a picture book titled A HOUSE WITH NO DOOR. For news, giveaways and sneak peeks, sign up for my monthly newsletter at www.amydominy.com/newsletter.

I live and sweat in Phoenix, Arizona with my hubby, a cat who thinks she's a dog and a dog who doesn't think about much except kibble. Thanks for following me here--and happy reading!

I'm not sure where it comes from, but I actually think realistic young adult novels today are changing that. I can't speak to every book, of course, but I've read many novels that show a grittier, more realistic vision of addiction, and mental illness. I can tell you that for me, personally, one of my goals while writing DIE FOR YOU was to address the type of romanticization you're asking about. I wanted to strip the romanticism from the idea of "dying for love." I wanted to show it for what it is: manipulation and emotional abuse. I hope that answers your question. Best, Amy(less)
Amy Fellner Dominy Hi Christine. Thanks for thinking of me. I think you mean the list of books by Jewish authors? Yes, I'd love to be listed there, as well. :)

The Deal with Making a Deal

When I went to buy my first new car in my early twenties, I was armed with a detailed analysis and breakdown of what I felt would be a fair price. I even included a dealer profit in my price.

I was so naive.

I still shudder at the memory of that salesman smirking over my added profit. Who knows how much I overpaid for that car but I”m sure it was a lot. Maybe because of that, I’ve worried over every
