Attorney Greta McDonald runs a free legal clinic for Milwaukee’s financially disadvantaged population. Funded by the estate of her late parents, Greta’s dedication to those who can’t afford legal services leaves no time for romance. While on Earth, Melissa and Steven McDonald had enjoyed a true love match and they want the same for their daughter. Unfortunately, angels are only permitted to observe family members left behind, and in times of extreme danger, request assistance, but they are not allowed to interfere in matters of the heart. The couple has already tested God’s indulgence several times and now they’re facing the possibility of being cast out of Heaven into Purgatory.
Enter Aaron Buckley, a ruthless litigator, and Greta’s primary nemesis in court. Despite their differences, he is determined to win Greta’s heart. Unfortunately, Greta’s commitment to her clinic, her resistance to a relationship, and her propensity to place herself in peril, threaten to prevent a love match. Without a little heavenly #1 intervention, this couple may never have the opportunity to embrace the miracle of true love.
When Aaron’s grandfather offers a family-tested three-part plan to win Greta’s heart, Aaron is all in. Unfortunately, Greta isn’t making things easy, but as everyone knows, the show’s not over until the heavenly choir sings!
An interview with Seelie Kay
Q. Why do you write romance?

Q. Do you prefer a certain type of romantichero?
I adore smart, dashing gentlemen who aren’t afraid tolive on the edge. They can be a lawyer, a bad boy, a billionaire, a prince, ora secret agent. That hint of danger just hooks me! However, they have to bepaired with strong, independent women who aren’t afraid to fight for what theywant, even love. And brains over brawn, every time!
Q. Why did you write “In the Midst of Angels?”
For several reasons. When myfather died during the pandemic (not from COVID), I really struggled with theidea that I could never ever seek his advice again. He lived in another cityand was kept in a tight “bubble,” so neither my son or I could visit. My motherhad died 15 years prior and I regularly had dreams in which we had some prettyserious discussions about love and romance. That had me thinking about whattype of advice they would give my son about relationships and finding the rightpartner. I also wondered how they would react to the relationship style ofMillennials. Somedays, I feel like all of the advanced technology they use has killedromance. They seem much more practical about it, less playful. In a way, thisbook is a nod to my parents, as well as a guide to romance for the youngergeneration.
Q. You pretty much use lawyers as your maincharacters. Why?
It’s what I know. After 30 years, the law and the legalworld are so firmly embedded in my brain that I can’t flush them out. That has becomethe lens through which I view the world and that naturally guides my charactersand plots. Injustice infuriates me, but it also leads me to great stories. Evenin this book, I find a way to explore social and criminal justice issues.

HBW: Welcome to author Tina Donahue and her new book - Chocolate Bliss
A note from Tina Donahue:
Do you like chocolate? If you do – frankly, I’m an unrepentant chocoholic – then you’ll enjoy my newest release Anything You Want. When my editor at Extasy said they were looking for chocolate-related (and other treat-related) romances, I knew Anything You Want was perfect for them... and anyone else who enjoys two smokin-hot billionaires, a sweet yet feisty heroine, luscious chocolate, a decadent resort, and romance that can't be stopped.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this sneak peek… preferably with a box of chocolates nearby. 😊

Blurb: At a hedonistic resort, her indecent cravings are about to be sated…
With the big three-o only days away, Jamie’s had it with dieting, exercise, and being alone. Off she goes to Wicked Desires, a decadent Caribbean resort where clothing is optional, carnal appetites rule, and food, especially chocolate, is celebrated. If only she had a guy to indulge with…
How about two? Billionaires Creed and Tav are checking out ideas for their new video game. The play features a resort where anything goes and an unlikely heroine as the star. Jamie’s luscious curves and sweet vulnerability make her the perfect type to base their game on. Since she’s also in IT—having put her dream to create candy on hold—she understands their lingo.
Hell, their desires are perfectly in tune with hers, whether it’s food play during meals, punishment in the discipline room, or a romantic evening on the beach.
When it comes to sweet delights and these two hunks…who says she can’t have anything she wants?
Excerpt:
Pretending she was in full control of her lust, Jamie slipped her fingers across Tav’s palm. God. The heat and texture of his skin was as wonderful as Creed’s, his handshake also meant to embrace, not bruise.
Damn, did she want them to do her.
Both looked at her expectantly.
Why? “What?”
Creed’s smile turned mischievous, even a little tender. “What’s your name?”
“You didn’t tell us,” Tav said.
Right. “Jamie Parker. Nice to meet you. This place is something, isn’t it?”
“Hey there!” A redhead appeared at their side, wiggling her fingers in greeting. “I’m Francine. This is Karen.” She gestured to the brunette next to her then spoke to Tav and Creed. “We need two more for our nude volleyball game. You guys wanna join?”
Tav released Jamie’s hand.
Her spirits nosedived.
She waited for him and Creed to take off, leaving her to start the mingling process again. Sadly, they weren’t hers to keep. Both could go wherever they wanted. If she were a masochist, she could even tag along, like the fifth wheel, and cheer them on while they were play—
“Thanks, but no,” Creed said. “I’m busy.”
Tav nodded. “Same here.”
“No prob.” Francine offered a thousand-watt smile. “We’ll catch you guys later.”
Jamie struggled not to pump her fists, thrilled at how this moment turned out, except she didn’t understand any of it.
They’d actually turned those babes down. Why? And what were they busy with? Her? Seriously?
She hated being so uncertain of herself, but hell, having lived with nothing but rejection from the opposite sex didn’t make one bubble over with confidence. “Do you guys work here?”
Surprise flashed on their faces.
Tav spoke first. “No. What made you think we did?”
Not about to point out the obvious—that they’d focused on her to the exclusion of the other women—she shrugged. “You didn’t want to join the game. Might be fun rather than standing around here.”
Creed tapped his chest. “You don’t seem to mind.”
Already he read her too well. She forced herself to look at his face rather than his pecs. “I’m not into sports.”
“How about this place?” Tav grew serious. “Having a good time?”
She might if she hit it off with them. So far, things looked promising. “I have no complaints…but I only got here an hour ago. You guys?”
“We arrived yesterday,” Creed said.
Tav chimed in, “To look around.”
Yet they were still in the get-acquainted section rather than frolicking like Adam with countless Eves? Didn’t make sense.
However, the cryptic way they’d answered reminded her of the guys she worked with in IT. She always had to frame her questions carefully to get more than a two-word response from them.
“Look around for what?” She gestured to the room in general. “The facilities? Didn’t you plan your itineraries before arriving? The details are online, or you could have video conferenced or Skyped with the Wizard of Wishes.”
Creed scratched his cheek and fought a smile. “God, that name’s so dumb.”
She laughed. “Incredibly so. What packages did you sign up for?” She was betting on sex and all the kinky stuff the resort encouraged.
“We didn’t.” Tav frowned slightly. “We’re here to work.”
She took them in. Hell, she drank in every part of them, including the thick ridges between their legs.
Call her crazy, but those bulges seemed to have grown a little bigger and harder since they’d been speaking with her. “Work at what?”
Tav spoke first. “A project.”
“It was missing an element,” Creed said. “We just couldn’t get it right.”
Tav smiled. “Until we saw you.”

Favorite Movie and Book welcomes Darlene Dziomba-What is her favorite iconic 1990s move? And her book-Up Close and Pawsonal

My new release, Up Close And Pawsonal, is titled after an iconic 1990s movie starring Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer. The movie begins with Sally, who will be renamed Tally, trying to break into the television news industry. She faces an uphill battle against a male-dominated industry, office politics, and self-doubt.

My protagonist, Lily Dreyfus, is confident in her career as an Adoption Coordinator at an animal shelter. However, as an amateur sleuth, she battles against authority figures and her own emotions. Up Close And Pawsonal opens with an idyllic scene. Lily and her boyfriend enjoy music by a cover band at an outdoor concert. The serenity of the evening is destroyed when shots are fired from a passing SUV, killing two of the band members. Lily suffers from PTSD but is intent on discovering the reason for the shooting since one of the band members killed is her coworker’s nephew.
Tally wants to ask the difficult questions of politicians but is often thwarted by supervisors and jealous anchors. She must overcome her insecurities in the face of these authority figures to garner the resources she requires for her news stories. She is aided by a news veteran Warren Justice who teaches her to formulate hard-hitting questions and ask them with confidence.
Lily staffs an adoption event held at a local PetSmart. She meets a young mother with two rambunctious boys who have been promised a dog by their father for bringing home excellent first-grade report cards. Lily explains to the boys that having a dog is a lot of work, and they will have to be responsible for the dog’s care. The father views Lily’s words as a criticism of his parenting skill and becomes enraged.
Tally often faced enraged individuals when she exposed corrupt politicians and social injustice in her reporting. She summoned courage and relentlessly sought answers until she learned the truth.
Lily’s friend Lucinda Miller encounters similar challenges as a state auditor. Lucinda is sent to a county police station to audit the use of DEA grant funds to run an undercover narcotics operation. Lucinda asks questions about financial record keeping and receives evasive answers. Her intuition leads her to uncover misappropriations of the grant funds, much like Tally’s intuition leads to uncovering corruption.
Tally explores stories from multiple angles to connect the dots of the cause of injustice. As Lily digs into the motivations behind the drive-by shooting, she meets a young man who served as a confidential informant in the undercover narcotics operation. Lily introduces him to Lucinda, and he provides crucial information to Lucinda’s audit. Lily, like Tally, connects the dots even when situations seem incongruous.
Lily and Lucinda realize that the man who became enraged at the adoption event and the man avoiding the auditor’s questions are one in the same. The two women support each other to reach their goals, much like Tally had Warren’s support guiding her through on-air interviews that exposed social injustices.
In the end, all of the women are victorious. They overcome fear, anxiety, and other obstacles to expose the truth.
Bio Darlene Dziomba: Darlene is a member of Sisters in Crime National and several regional SinC

groups. She combined her passion for the written word and animals into the Lily Dreyfus series. Darlene volunteers at the Animal Welfare Association, a New Jersey animal shelter, where she chats with the dogs while completing her assignments. She has a 30-year career in Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and is an avid reader, gardener, and traveler. Darlene lives in New Jersey with her four-legged best friend, Billie.

Favorite Movie and Book with author Rachel Brimble - Love romance, humor, quirks and foibles?

I watched Notting Hill when it was first released here in the UK in 1999, and I’ve watched it countless times since! I think it’s the combination of romance, comedy, drama, and quintessential Englishness that makes it my favorite movie – of course, the fabulous coupling of Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts shouldn’t go by unacknowledged! They are just incredible together…
Roberts play a US actress on a UK tour of her latest film release and literally bumps into Grant in Notting Hill market – minor chaos ensues that ends with Roberts spontaneously kissing Grant before she disappears onto the street. They are soon brought back together by means of a press circuit in which Grant pretends he is a reporter from Horse & Hound. The rest you will have to watch as tears of laughter and poignant moments abound, with the stellar supporting cast sprinkling their individual magic on our hapless hero and beautiful heroine.
The writer, Richard Curtis has been one of my favorite comedy writers ever since I started watching The Vicar of Dibley, a UK show that first aired in 1994 and starred the fabulous Dawn French. He also wrote Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, About Time & Yesterday, not to mention the screenplay for the unforgettable Bridget Jones’s Diary.
If your visitors love romance, humor, British scenery, quirks and foibles, Notting Hill comes highly recommended!

Handbag and Book: Vicki Batman on Awful Winter Weather & February Fun
I am sooo not a cold-weather person. I think some people are and some people aren't. And this probably depends on where one is raised. I grew up in the heat. It is nothing for temps to go to 100 in the summertime. We only had window air conditioners (boy, does that date me). My grandmother didn't have an a/c until she was 96.

I guess I sound like a whiner.
I promise I'm not a whiner. I know nothing lasts forever. We'll get past the awfulness with hints of spring until March. In fact, during one hint, my flowering quince bloomed.
So what's it like in your neighborhood?

Handbag and Book welcomes author Suzanne Baginskie - Do you have a million purses?
Author Suzanne Baginskie tells her tale about the treasured handbag she discovered on the shores at a Caribbean Cruise stop.
About the Handbag:
This handbag brings back pleasant memories of our 50th wedding anniversary cruise. We sailed the western Caribbean and shopped in the country of Belize. I first saw this purse sitting high on a shelf in a crowded booth. I pointed it out to my husband. His remark was, “You have a million purses.” I’ve known for years my two vices were handbags, and shoes. Thus, my walk-in closet is filled with both. But I couldn’t help myself. I’ve always adored the color blue, something about it sings to my soul. I’m crazy about the ocean too. This bag’s brilliant, electric-blue flowered embroidery. outlined in a shade of ivory white was simply unique. I was smitten.
The shopkeeper took it down and presented it to me for a closer look. Each side has the same beautiful design. The bag looked about ten inches wide and opened to a four inch spread. There were two separate zippered compartments for safety and the twin black handles featured fancy brown beads. I knew it would be a smaller sized travel bag, and I needed something that could hold my wallet, passport, phone, and sunglasses. It also looked dressy enough to use in the evening. I had to have it.
I turned and saw another woman staring at me, she wanted to see the purse next. I pressed it against my chest, my heart racing and I heard my husband tell the man, “We’ll take it.” He paid for the purse, and said, “Happy 50th Anniversary, again.” My heart pinged, forever grateful. Since then, I’m constantly getting complements and asked where I purchased the handbag. I’ve discovered it’s become a great conversation piece, and allows me to mention, I’m an author. It holds my stack of business cards inside, too. Smile.

Her FBI Special Agent characters will keep you turning the page as they encounter a potent combination of suspense, thrills, and action on their dangerous missions and at times, affairs of the heart. Each morning, she starts the day with a four-mile walk and meditates on her current writing project. A voracious reader, she supports her local library association as a friend.
