New to middle school? I’ve got you covered.

It’s the new school year! For those going to middle school for the first time, here’s some advice. I stand by these, especially #2.

[PS Apologies: I had a cold and was in dire in need of tissues — and apparently some hairspray — when this was filmed.]

Guest writer alert!

Pleased to be a guest writer for the latest School Library Association (UK) journal (Pages 12-13). All about the upside of graphic novels in libraries. As if there’s a downside. 🙂

Enjoy!

Reader Questions, Part Two

It’s been a few years since I answered readers’ questions in a video — and you all have so many great ones. So I decided to do Part Two! Enjoy the video…you may even see a special someone make an appearance.

Entirely Emmie Tour Wrap-Up

Enjoy this little collage of my month-long whirlwind book tour in May, 2025! (Yes, I took many, many, MANY more photos — but we’d be here all day.)

From left to right: Kayla Miller and me, at a fun joint author event in Louisville; at a school in Denver; school event in Petaluma, CA; signing 200 books (!) in Denver; me partnering with some bigtime (fabulous) Australian authors in Sydney; with THE Jeff Kinney (!); presenting at Town Hall in Sydney (!!); signing at Booktopia, Austrailia’s largest online book retailer; with one of Booktopia’s many warehouse robots (named after book characters…this one is “Daisy Jones”); touring around Sydney Harbour and the iconic Opera House; at the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which — yes — I indeed climbed (not for the faint of heart or mind). [Not shown: me melting in Tempe, AZ — but still great events there; also, my tour around Melbourne, a stunning city as well.]

Okay, one more. This trip wouldn’t be complete without a picture of the world’s cutest animal (besides Rosie). Can we say, AWWWWUH?

Wandering Wallaby (possible title of my next book)

Meet Rosie!

Guess what? My poodle, Rosie, will make an appearance in my next book, ENTIRELY EMMIE (out May 6)! Here’s a fun video for a little sneak peek into the character behind the character. (And yes, I’m aware that I can’t stop rubbing her hairy little chest. I’m doing it even now.)

Some upcoming book events!

It’s almost spring, which means some pretty big, fun book festivals — and who does big and fun better than Texas librarians? I’ll be at the North Texas Teen Book Festival Saturday, March 1 and the Texas Library Association conference April 1-2. I’ll be on a bunch of really great panels and doing some signings. Hope to see all you Dallas-area readers and librarians (who are inherently readers) in Texas!
