Gotan Language Dictionary Work

It has been a busy summer for me, and I have been steady working on Archaios, and specifically, the Bjornlinga Saga, every single day. Part of the reason I am so terrible at this whole modern social media thing is that I would rather just spend what time I have focused on my actual creative work. But I did realize that I have been somewhat negligent in keeping people updated as to my activity, so I figured it was about time to drop you a line.

The Bjornlinga is, in some ways, finished. I have tak...

A New Book from the Shadows

It’s been some time since I’ve sent out a newsletter. I’ve been deep in the work—Archaios, my teaching, fatherhood. The days vanish.

But I want to share something different with you today.

I recently published a small book. A quiet piece, but a powerful one. Raw. Honest. The Doomer.

If you’re familiar with the meme, yes—that’s the seed. But this isn’t just a joke. When people post those black-eyed, hollow figures and say, “me IRL,” what they’re really doing is confessing something. Beneath the humo...

News from the Dreaming: The Bjornlinga Mini-Books Retired

After much careful thought, I have taken the Bjornlinga mini-books out of print.

As a creator, I have a vision for how my work should appear and be produced. And while the material in those two early volumes was good—and the feedback from readers was uniformly positive—they did not meet my expectations.

Archaios is a big world. And The Bjornlinga Saga is my first public unveiling of this mythos—an essential part of it.

Originally, Bjornlinga was conceived as a straightforward tale, something sharp ...

Tending the Flame

This week, I’ve found myself buried under academic responsibilities, preparing for the spring semester. It is the eternal struggle of every creator—to be torn from dreams and visions and drawn into the mundane necessities of the world. When I was younger, I resented such stolen time, yearning for a life spent wholly in creation. But I’ve since learned that this tension is the nature of life itself: the struggle to reach toward light and beauty while trudging through the weight of the everyday.

An...

Introducing The Doomer

While my main creative focus has been Archaios, and more specifically The Bjornlinga Saga, I’ve also been quietly working on another story that takes a very different path: The Doomer. In style, it shares some similarities with my Philosophical Narratives, yet it stands apart as something unique.

Here’s a glimpse:

He’s done. Ready to end it all. But before he goes, there’s one last thing to do—clean up the disaster of an apartment he’s been living in. A random book, a long-forgotten list, and a si...

Website Overhaul: A Gateway to the Mythic

I’ve reimagined my website with a more mythic and ancient design, reflecting the timeless essence of Archaios. Central to this transformation is a dedicated Archaios Mythos section, where you can explore the lore and worldbuilding of my world—a realm shaped by the dreaming of gods and the struggles of mortals.

Step into the mythic and share your thoughts; I’d love to hear what you think.

Survival, Brotherhood, and the Call of the Long Night

What keeps men going when everything around them has crumbled, when all supports and hope seem to have failed? This is the question that lies at the heart of the Bjornlinga Saga, where survival, brotherhood, and the search for meaning come into sharp focus amidst the silence of the Long Night.

Reader Questions Answered: The Expanding World of Archaios

Hello, dear readers!

Today, I’m quite pleased to answer a thoughtful question I recently received from a fellow named Aidan, who has been enjoying Bjornlinga #1.

First of all, thank you, Aidan, for your kind message, and a heartfelt thanks to everyone who takes the time to write to me. I do my best to respond to each of you—it means a great deal to hear from those who have stepped into Archaios.

In his letter, Aidan asked how The Bjornlinga Saga fits into the larger world of Archaios. A truly delig...

Breaking the Myth: The Problem with Ms. Perkins in John Wick

Why does John Wick resonate so deeply? It’s more than just an action movie—it’s a modern myth. I explore its themes of masculinity, vengeance, and the sacred feminine in my latest essay. Check it out!

What's my definition of success?

I just got in my first copies of Bjornlinga Saga #1 today, and so I took a couple of them up to my office to add to my display. As you can see in the picture, I have th...
