祖國，祝你生日快樂！

1992年在美国旧金山参加华侨们举办国庆庆祝晚宴，我演唱的是《北京的金山上》

每年的国庆节，我总是会想起一首歌。歌名叫《今天是你的生日，我的祖国》歌词是我很喜欢的：“今天是你的生日我的中国/清晨我放飞一群白鸽/为你衔来一枚橄榄叶/鸽子在崇山峻岭飞过/我们祝福你的生日我的中国/愿你永远没有忧患永远宁静/我们祝福你的生日我的中国/这是儿女们心中期望的歌”

我第一次唱这首歌是我当年仍在做北欧外交官夫人时，我们应邀去在瑞士日内瓦的中国代表处参加中国国庆的庆祝晚宴。庆祝一个国家的生日，除了祝贺词、干杯、歌声是不可缺的！我的手虽然被北欧男生牵着，但我的心是中国的心。中国的国庆，迎来这么多各国官员们来庆祝，我们做为公民，祖国的儿女，除了礼貌友善真诚地向外国朋友介绍自己的国家、民族、家乡，最能表达自己的情怀的，还是希望用自己的歌声！

当时，一起去的还有我很喜欢的蒙古族电影明星斯琴
