I'll be honest..... I love Nicholas Sparks and I should have had more faith, but i found the start of the book hard to get into. But, because it was his and i heard so much good things about this book I kept reading.

It really was a great book, and I found the end heartbreaking to read. Certainly didn't see it coming at the end. Would definitely recommend this book- which i have already- especially for anyone who loves a good story of love and friendship.


This book inspired me to do two things!
1. When I was reading about Jamie giving gifts at the orphanage it made me think of The Simon Community, a shelter for the homeless. I would love to be able to give gifts like that, and I'm going to see if they accept Christmas shoeboxes, and maybe Easter eggs as well.
2. The book triggered off quite a few ideas for poetry, and a possible story.
