Florin Pîtea s-a născut pe 18 august 1971 la Câmpina, a fost lector la Facultatea de Litere a Universităţii Spiru Haret şi în 2011 a primit titlul de doctor în filologie engleză cu o lucrare despre subgenul (post)cyberpunk intitulată "Art Wasn’t Quite Crime". Şi-a făcut debutul literar în 1992, în revista Colecţia de Povestiri Ştiinţifico-Fantastice Anticipaţia, iar până în prezent a publicat două volume de proză scurtă ("Necropolis", 2001, respectiv "An/Organic", 2004), două romane ("Gangland", 2006, respectiv "Anul terminal", 2012), o monografie intitulată "O introducere în opera lui Liviu Radu" (2014) şi două volume fix-up ("Delirul încapsulat", 2015 şi "Motorul de căutare", 2020). În prima decadă a lunii februarie 2023, de la anticariatul Antic ExLibris de pe Strada Doamnei, din București, am achiziționat un exemplar dintr-un volum de Graham Mitchell intitulat: Motörhead: Fast & Loose - Snapshots from the Graham Mitchell Archive 1977 - 1982 (Editura Murder One, Whittier, CA, 2021). L-am parcurs a doua zi.
