“Neem laughed too.
"I didn't know bots could laugh," Kali said.
Neem blinked and then blinked again. "I suppose before today, I didn't know either.”
Robyn Abbott, Newer

“In his opinion, there was no pain greater than discovering—as it was happening—that one was doing something evil.”
Robyn Abbott, The Penitent

“Jehan had seen fear change its clothes before.”
Robyn Abbott, The Penitent

“To be fair, the ninety-seven souls who called Half-Brill home had been warned.”
Robyn Abbott, A Sin & a Half

“Living life as an artist is a practice.
You are either engaging in the practice
or you’re not.

It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it.
It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.”
You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

We tend to think of the artist’s work as the output.

The real work of the artist
is a way of being in the world.”
Rick Rubin, The Creative Act: A Way of Being

“Look for what you notice but no one else sees.”
Rick Rubin, The Creative Act: A Way of Being

“All rebels are closet aristocrats. That’s why I can convert them so easily.”
Frank Herbert, God Emperor of Dune

“In what world do men and women pay the same price for passion?”
S.A. Chakraborty, The City of Brass
