Captain's Log: 12042024

Today has been particularly harsh for me mentally. I'm just in a bit of a mood.
But there are silver linings to be had if you're able to look for them.
I've been sad most of the day. But I have an incredible opportunity in my lap, and I had the chance to take it. It will be incredible for my career and it will be one of those things I don't think will register for several months. But I am blessed for the chance regardless. And so thankful.

In Hunted by Fate news, I was able to get to Chapter 20 in edits last night out of 76. I ended up also adding a little over 2200 words, which brought the word count up to 149,912.
The book, as it sits currently is at about 646 pages. My goal for this book was 160k words and 650 pages and I think we'll be able to make that easily. It will more than likely go over it, and I am perfectly okay with that. A little daunting to know I may have written a 700 page book in less than 6 months, but ya know, uh, it is what it is.
I am so excited for Hunted by Fate and I honestly already dread ending this story and leaving Tantalia to the masses when the time comes.
And I hope you will feel the same as well.
Either way, thank you for following this journey of mine, and thank you for being here.
Until next time, darlings.

Hunted by Fate: Captains Log: 12032024

I figured with how much I am loving this story and this editing process, I would post updates on it.
For those who are unaware, Hunted by Fate is a succubus Romantasy between a succubus and a hunter.
This only my second book, but it is the first book in this series.
It is supposed to be a parallel of my husband and I in some ways. And as I was writing the story and fleshing out their characters, it seems as though these characters have sort of taken on those personalities in a sense.
With Elevated Ambitions, it was an idea that flowed around me, and I just created it as it flowed. But I wasn't able to take the creative and poetic liberties that I am able to take with Hunted by Fate.
And it shows.
My roots, as far as writing goes, have always been in poetry. I may not have written stories or books, but I have always written poetry, and I have enjoyed the metaphorical connections I'm able to make with poetry.
Not to mention, the cadence of poetry is much more stimulating to read. And I believe that very much translates in this book.
Today, I edited about 5-6 chapters out of 76. So I'm currently editing, chapter 11.
This book... is truly so incredible and I am so proud of it. In a way I can't wait to truly share with everyone. It's dark, it's spicy, it's plot heavy, its world building.
It is everything I love in a book, and I wrote it.
I hope you all will join me on this journey for this story, and I hope when you get the chance to read it, you'll fall in love with the land as well.

Thank you for being here. And thank you for everything.
