Ekamjit Ghuman was born in British Columbia. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance and Human Resources Management concentration from Simon Fraser University. She also completed a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Ekamjit was born with cerebral palsy. Her cerebral palsy affects her speech, hand-eye coordination and ability to walk, which requires her to use a walker.

Ekamjit enjoys reading, listening to music, watching films and Pakistani dramas and traveling. She is passionate about creating awareness about cerebral palsy and social issues.

As a child, I dreamed of relocating to Mumbai, the city of dreams, and becoming a filmmaker, as the art of telling compelling stories through film captivated my heart. But as the years progressed, my life started to take new turns, and my dream of becoming a filmmaker perished because it was unrealistic and unachievable due to the challenges I faced as an individual living with a disability.
