Dear friends,

My book "Japan Is Very Wonderful" is on free download on��amazon.co.uk��at the moment and it's gone CRAZY!!! So I am currently at no. 1 in the Self Help chart, no. 1 in the Asian Travel chart and, as of this morning, no. 16 of ALL Kindle books. Crazy huh?

Does it mean I should start walking around calling myself a No. 1 Self-Help Author? Dare I?

It's interesting because I am really, really happy with just a touch of Imposter Syndrome, whereas a few years ago when one of my books hit No. 92 in the Travel chart I had to hide in bed and I couldn't have possibly told anyone about it. No, I had the full PTSD response to success.

So I am proof. I am proof that you can overcome fear of success, overcome Imposter Syndrome and live your dreams.

It makes me feel fulfilled - that I'm in the right job, that my new book, coming out very soon, is actually good and not the worst book ever written as I sometimes think in my lowest moments.

And in my dreams I'm dancing with the self-help teachers who taught me and we are celebrating.

Okay yes, I'm having a positive thinking moment, and between you and me I am quite excited...

Horror Buzz Kill

Hate to be a buzz kill, but as so many people are reporting problems with anxiety and paranoia I gotta say, do think carefully about what you are reading.

I was once a huge Stephen King - still love his writing - but had to choose between reading his books and being able to sleep at night :(

It's okay to be a horror wuss. I can handle Buffy and Angel, but I had to stop watching Agents of Shield when it all got too bloody and end of the worldy.

Know your limits!

Paperback update

I got excited - just a few tweaks required and another proof and hopefully the paperback will be ready to release.

It's weird, but when I wrote "Meditation for Angry People" way back when, the cover was white originally, but when the paperback arrived I knew it had to be red...

...and exactly the opposite has happened with "Pearl Escapes Fear of Success".

Feels like the end of a very long journey.

Waiting to check out my paperback

I'm very excited. These are the red letter days as an author. I've just had my paperback version of "Pearl Escapes Fear of Success" delivered to

my post office, so hopefully I'll pick it up later.

When I did the paperback for the first time in January of this year it just felt completely wrong - the colour, everything, so I decided to do a hardback, which is really unusual for a non-fiction, self-help book, but it just felt right to me. Luckily I got the proofs through before lockdown, so I was able to release the hardback!

I was always planning to release the paperback in November, but this year has been so up and down that when I felt ready I created this one - it could be that it feels all wrong again and I have to go back to the drawing board, but I'm hoping this is the one! I honestly never know about the covers until I have it in my hands.
