Review of Cove Valley by Tyler Nals

Cove Valley
Kerry made a bad decision. He entered Cove Valley, and it could cost him his life, or much more. Enter a world of fear, deception, and greed. Where no one is what they seem and people use each other to play a deadly game. No one is safe, not even the brutal players who use others as pawns to do their bidding.
It’s an icy winter night and Kerry’s car won’t make it home. Instead of freezing in a parking garage, he decides to venture out in search of a hotel. And that’s when things go bad. Before he knows it, he’s caught up in a tangled web of deception where the truth is just another space on the board of life and death. The deeper he delves into Cove Valley the more he realizes he’s never going home.
His only way out is through. To beat the game, by any means possible. But with the deck stacked against him and no idea what the rules are, is he just a dead man walking?
This taut thriller will keep you turning pages long into the night to uncover the end of this nightmare.
If you love gritty urban fiction or wrong turn stories, this is the book for you.

Review of 'Dark White'

Dark White Dark White by Neil Christiansen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What would you do for the love of your life? Would you kill to defend them? What if no one believed you? Not even the person you were protecting.
Gavin Gayle has a problem. A different problem every month it seems. His problems are delivered to him to take care of. The problem is, they aren’t his problems.
Gavin’s other problem is he’s dead. At least as far as the world knows.
Step inside Gavin’s world in this gritty crime noir where the guilty and the innocent blur lines of morality. When the justice system fails, Gavin is called in to finish the job.
This crime story burned through all my free time until I reached the end. An addicting story with interesting characters, this book was well worth a read. I’d be very interested to see this be the start of a series.

Review of 'Malcom Karma: Cold Turkey'

Malcolm Karma: Cold Turkey Malcolm Karma: Cold Turkey by Neil Christiansen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So far I'm only 10 chapters into this kindle vella offering by Mr. Christiansen, but it has not disappointed me. After reading his awesome crime noir, 'Dark White' I was anticipating a sequel. This book seems to be that. Although not starring the main character Gavin Gayle from the previous book, it does continue in the same world with a new character thrust into similar circumstances.
I devoured the first 10 chapters and am now waiting anxiously for more.
This book already has the twists of the last and is building to a showdown between Malcom and his employer/handler.
As a Gavin Gayle type vigilante, Malcom has been doing what needed to be done for a while now. Even though he doesn't pick his targets, he's always known they were worthy of his particular brand of attention. But when he finds one of his victims wasn't what he was supposed to be, Malcom's whole belief system comes into question.
