Robert Goddard

Before continuing the main subject of this blog, I'd like to comment on a couple af anomalies on this Author's page of mine. Firstly you'll see that among my favourite authors is me! You might also notice, if you look long enough, that I gave myself 5 stars for a couple of my own books! I'm not sure whether I ticked the wrong boxes by mistake ( I don't think so) or whether it's one of the inexplicable anomalies that occur on websites, but all I want to assure readers is that, although I can be a bit Bolshi at times, it ain't my doing. Not deliberately or in error as far as I'm concerned.

Now for the rest:
I've just added some memorable books I've read over recent (and not so recent) years, and it's significant that Robert Goddard comes out umpteen times - each time with 5 stars.

This is simply because there isn't a Robert Goddard book I haven't read - and less still one I haven't enjoyed 100%. For me he's the consummate writer; the benchmark I aim at with my own humble offerings.
Every book of his is different; not subtly either. Although they're all mystery thrillers of a kind, periods and settings vary widely, though many (even eighties books) can be considered modern day. I could witter on endlessly about this author's virtues, but the only way to find out how good he is....is to read him.
I have only one regret about having read all of this man's work - and that's it. I've read them.
If you've not tried him and you admire him only a fraction as much as I do, you have many happy hours reading in front of you. Get cracking with this one for a start! Borrowed Time Not his best, but a good start.
