We have a Patreon!

K.A. Merikan’s PATREON

We’re on Patreon now!

We know a lot of you reading this already support us by buying our books, and it makes us extremely frustrated sometimes that we can’t deliver our yet more niche stories because we are often at a fork in the road. Do we choose a more commercial project to write (which we love just as much!) and pay rent and bills, or do we venture into the unknown of a more risky book?

Oftentimes the risky book goes on the backburner in our brains. We hope that Patreon will give us the freedom to write those obscure, weird, dark, and wonderful books you will enjoy. One of our most popular books, “Laurent and the Beast” was among those stories and had spent 2 *years* waiting for its moment to shine. Because – gothic M/M biker romance with time travel and the devil – who will read that, right?

And then there is the issue of writing series, which brings us to our most prominent Patreon project for 2018, “Guns n’ Boys”. Pulpy, dark, yet filled with inappropriate humor, this series isn’t for everyone, which instantly makes it a harder sell, but its main characters, Seth and Domenico, are so deeply rooted in our hearts that we refuse to compromise. The series is now at six books, with at least seven more planned, and we will never give up on our vision for it, but we also have to be realistic about publishing.

With each new book in a series, a part of the readership disappears, some readers choose to not read a series until it’s finished, some pirate the books, killing the possibility of writing books for this series more than once a year.

THIS is where you can step in and help. You can give us the freedom to bring you “Guns n’ Boys” books more often so that you can sooner find out how the whole story ends. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, we WILL continue writing this series, but it might take years to publish all the novels. We have set goals on Patreon, which if we hit them, could bring even FOUR “Guns n’ Boys” books in 2018.

If you already buy the books, I know it’s a lot to ask, but if you want to see more of Seth and Domenico, support indie writing free of worry if a book is “commercial” enough, and get LOADS of goodies and fun fiction in the meanwhile, we will greatly appreciate your support on Patreon!

Check out all the support tiers to find out what kind of surprises we have prepared!

The books themselves will be published as usual, on AMAZON, but depending on Patreon results, we will be able to write more “Guns n’ Boys” books in 2018, commission custom goodies and illustrations, and offer you lots of flash fiction, slice-of-life snippets with the characters, side character point of view stories, and more, including a monthly opinion column by Domenico Acerbi himself – “Since you didn’t ask”!

Newsletter July 2017

We’re now happily settled in Bristol and working hard on the upcoming books. “My Dark Knight” ended up at a whooping 145k words, which is even longer than “Laurent and the Beast” but it is what it needs to be. There’s an enemies to lovers storyline there, and those always take that bit longer for the guys to unravel their issues with each other. I love writing that trope!

We did manage to sneak in a little holiday after the move, and we went to visit the Brontë Parsonage museum in Haworth where they have an exhibition on with the costumes from the movie – “To Walk Invisible”.

In the Newsletter:

“My Dark Knight – Kings of Hell MC #2”  Release date + teaser
“Laurent and The Beast” – $0.99!
“Manic Pixie Dream Boy” – New book in the works

Newsletter June 2017

It’s been two months from our last newsletter, so this one will be packed! We’ve been hard at work on… a spontaneous move from Wales to Bristol. It’s been hectic, but we’ve managed to wrap it all up in a month, and in a few days from now, we will all moved! We still need to get ourselves beds, but that’s minor, right?

Newsletter April 2017

We’re now housesitting in Bournemouth with weather so wonderful it’s sometimes hard to focus on work, but we’re doing our best finishing up “Laurent and The Beast”,which is coming out on the 29th of April – so only 10 days left! Yikes.

In our downtime we’ve visited an amazing mansion in the area, Kingston Lacy and it turned out to not only be amazing, but it also held a fascinating story of William John Bankes who made the house into the glorious building it is now.

Wikipedia:

“Bankes was eventually exiled from his home in England in 1841 due to homosexual indiscretions which led him to flee seeking refuge after being caught in compromising circumstances with a guardsman in Green Park in London. In that day and age, sodomy was considered a grave crime in England and carried with it the death penalty – the last executions in England for sodomy had occurred only six years earlier, in 1835.

Even though he was unable to return to Kingston Lacy, he continued to collect from abroad, sending his collections to be displayed in his beloved home. It is believed that he secretly visited Kingston Lacy to admire his home and collections before his death in Venice.”

Despite his exile and his homosexuality, he wrote to his family all the time, sent them furniture, designs and artwork he collected in Italy, and seemed to be in great contact with his sister. I like to think that with Italy being much more permissive in terms of homosexuality, he must have had a much happier time there than he would have had in England

Newsletter March 2017

And a welcome to all our new subscribers!

It’s been a big month already for me (Kat) as I hit one of those big birthdays, my 30th. It brought on a small existential crisis that was then quickly averted by three days of celebrations with friends and family. I’d like to thank YOU all for making my birthday so fantastic, because it is thanks to you readers that I can live my dream job, creating stories and sharing them with you. Your constant support and encouragement always makes my day and I love to wake up to all the notes on Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail.

Don’t mind me getting all sappy over here, and let’s get down to business!

In the Newsletter:

Blurb reveal for  “Laurent and the Beast” +  more exciting news about it
“Heart Ripper – Coffin Nails MC” – Freebie!
Summing up our last month’s charity effort
“Beau and the Beast”  by Kay Simone

All the best,

-Kat &Agnes Merikan P.S. If you were ever wondering who the Bad Cop is between Agnes and me, it’s Agnes, the one with the baby face

“Laurent and the Beast (Kings of Hell MC, book 1)”

— Nothing can stop true love. Not time. Not even the devil himself. —

1805. Laurent. Indentured servant. Desperate to escape a life that is falling apart.

2017. Beast. Kings of Hell Motorcycle Club vice president. His fists do the talking.

Beast has been disfigured in a fire, but he’s covered his skin with tattoos to make sure no one mistakes his scars for weakness. The accident not only hurt his body, but damaged his soul and self-esteem, so he’s wrapped himself in a tight cocoon of violence and mayhem where no one can reach him.

Until one night, when he finds a young man covered in blood in their clubhouse. Sweet, innocent, and as beautiful as an angel fallen from heaven, Laurent pulls on all of Beast’s heartstrings. Laurent is so lost in the world around him, and is such an unravelled mystery, that Beast can’t help but let the man claw his way into the stone that is Beast’s heart.

In 1805, Laurent has no family, no means, and his eyesight is failing. To escape a life of poverty, he uses his beauty, but that only backfires and leads him to a catastrophe that changes his life forever. He takes one step into the abyss and is transported to the future, ready to fight for a life worth living.

What he doesn’t expect in his way is a brutal, gruff wall of tattooed muscle with a tender side that only Laurent is allowed to touch. And yet, if Laurent ever wants to earn his freedom, he might have to tear out the heart of the very man who took care of him when it mattered most.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

Themes: time travel, servitude, serial killer, cruelty, motorcycle club, alternative lifestyles, disability, demons, tattoos, impossible choices, deception, crime, self-discovery, healing, virginity, black magic, gothic

Genre: Dark, paranormal romance

Erotic content: Scorching hot, emotional, explicit scenes

Length: ~130,000 words (Book 1 in the series, can be read as a standalone)

WARNING: This story contains scenes of violence, offensive language, and morally ambiguous characters.

So you might be wondering by now:

“Wait! What do you mean, ‘book 1’?”
As we were writing “Laurent and the Beast”, the whole world of the story grew and expanded, the background characters clamored to get their voices heard, and we just had to give in. All books will be about different couples, and we’re very excited, because we will be writing one after another and publishing them consequently for the next months.

The titles are:

“My Dark Knight”

“On Your Knees, Prospect”

“Gray’s Shadow”

They will all be books set within the Kings of Hell MC, and each will also have a paranormal element connected to the first book. We’re working on the covers, and I can tell you already that they will be delicious!

If you generally don’t read paranormal books, but love our MC series, I would still encourage you to give these upcoming books a shot, because as always, they will be HOT, very character driven, and full of bikers ;).

We’ve also just finished a course on gothic novels, and it was a huge inspiration, so expect lots of mystery, darkness and suspense!

“Heart Ripper – Coffin Nails MC

– FREEBIE!”

It’s FREE until the 18th of March, so if you were ever on the fence about trying this book, or this series, this might be the time to grab a freebie and see how you like it

Newsletter February 2017

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for spring to finally come along. We’ve been on a writing binge in the last few days, writing 75,000 words in 9 days! “Laurent and the Beast” is going amazing and we already have ideas to make is a series. Oops! It’s always like that. We make a great plan at the beginning of the year, and then some completely new ideas shove their way in. I’m just crossing my fingers you love this book as much as we are enjoying writing it

Newsletter January 2017

We are excited to have a newsletter full of great news and goodies. We’ve started 2017 on the right foot, working hard and finishing the next Guns n’ Boys book. Our schedule for the year is jam packed with new books to come, and yet we’ve started reworking and expanding an oldie but goodie – “An Onanist’s Journey to Reclaiming His Seed” which is a hoot of a regency M/M. The original is erotica with a romantic element, and we’re adding a few more scenes to make it romantic erotica. It will actually have a HEA, and it’s grown exponentially. The title will be “The Art of Mutual Pleasure” so watch out for that one in a month or so. It’s ridiculously dirty.

But since I still have your attention, please check out our newsletter to the end where we talk most about a fundraiser we’re helping next month.

In the Newsletter:

Cover reveal for  “Guns n’ Boys: Bloodbath” +  excerpt
“The Black Sheep and The Rotten Apple”  – Teasers and Blog Tour Contest! + PREORDER
About our upcoming book – “Laurent and the Beast” + Cover reveal
CHARITY appeal – Leo’s Beach Wheels

All the best,

-Kat &Agnes Merikan

P.S. Greetings from Anne Hathaway’s cottage in Stratford-upon-Avon!
