Living from the Soul

Living from the Soul: The 7 Spiritual Principles of Ralph Waldo Emerson illuminates the philosophy that Emerson developed during the hardest years of his life, which guided him for the rest of his days.
A short book in the tradition of James Allen's "As a Man Thinketh" and Epictetus' "The Manual," it distills ten years of study in 10,000 words.
Now available in paperback (ISBN 1671283708) and on Kindle (ASIN B0829GGJZG ).

Work in Progress
It took three years to write my novel, “The Dirty Parts of the Bible.” Now I’m one year into another three-year project: adapting the story into a graphic novel.
While much will be familiar to those who read the novel, this is a whole new book in many ways. It’s a challenge, but I’m enjoying the process. One page at a time!

John Perkins
Last week I had the honor of meeting and and learning from John Perkins. He's a unique bridge between cultures, writing books on business & economics ("Confessions of an Economic Hitman") as well as on the wisdom of the indigenous peoples of Central & South America ("The World Is As You Dream It," etc). I didn't know much about John before participating in his workshop--now I'm excited to read more of his work...

Happy Book Club
The biggest honor for "Dirty Parts" is when it's selected by a book club... One group was amazing enough to send me this photo. Thanks!!

(Was there wine involved, or did you really enjoy the book that much?)

Valentine's Day
No shades of grey here-- I celebrated Valentine's Day by singing classic love songs at the Thistle Stop Cafe...

Beatdown of Kerouac's "On the Road"
This is one of the funniest and most devastating reviews I've ever read...
Book Review: On the Road
There’s a story about a TV guide that summarized The Wizard of Oz as “Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first woman she meets, then teams up with three complete strangers to kill again.”
It’s funny because it mistakes a tale of wonder and adventure for a crime spree. Jack Kerouac’s On the Road is the opposite; a crime spree that gets mistaken for a tale of wonder and adventure...
